  • POV view of one of the most popular pieces that early marimbists learn.

    Disclaimer: Most of the time, I'm reading the music since I don't really have time to memorize the whole piece. There are a few missed notes, particularly left hand m. 91 and 93. My goal is to play as accurately as possible, but also just to give you good idea to help you learn the piece. Since I do these live in one take, and I don't really have time to make this full time, I can't always do twenty takes to get it perfect. Anyway, it's still a good run and I hope you can learn from it.

    I'm learning this piece as an eighth grader right now and it's a lot of fun :) it's my first 4 mallet piece so it's definitely taking some getting used to, but it's definitely worth it. I literally love marimba so much

      @POVMarimba  Před 4 lety +6

      Dustin Pruitt wow. I didn’t know it was that high. Good to know though. I think at some point they redo the grading system

    • @dustinpruitt5373
      @dustinpruitt5373 Před 4 lety +7

      POV Marimba yeah I think it’s because of the 4 mallets, plus having to do rolls at 8ths and 9ths as well as different rhythms that come out to be polyrhythms but a little bit more challenging, but honestly depending on the state it could possibly even be a completely different grading scale. I know in Florida it’s a 5 but who knows it could be a 5 everywhere.
