    Hi Nick, good to walk and talk with you as we came off the Devil's Staircase to Kinlochleven.

    Really useful video, thanks. You have some great kit there, I'm particularly jealous of the X Mid Pro. Thanks for posting this.

      Thanks Ian. The tent caused a bit of a stir a few times (I saw several on the Way including a 2 plus which looked palacial). 😊

      Thanks Craig. You are going to love it. Make sure you have your tick removal device mate. I wish I had featured it more prominently in the video as I got them on separate days. Have a brilliant time, you’ll love it 😊

    Hi Nick - enjoying your videos on here - you have a very gentle and warm style of presenting. Funny to bump into you again in Glasgow bus station. Can you tell me which OMM waterproof you have in this video - I can't work out which one on their website is that weight. Hope you're still on track for portugal.

      Hey Bev. Who would have thought the size of Glasgow, we would meet in a bus station 😊😊. Hope the Mega bus was Mega! 😊
      The jacket is the Halo. It’s only half as breathable and waterproof as goretex pro (10k/10k) but it’s a third of the weight of my real waterproof jackets so is a good choice for “slight chance of rain” trips. 😊. I’ll use it for Portugal as not expecting too much rain but no chance I’d do Welsh Mountains in September etc 😊

      @@NickLivingLife Thank you. I have their sonic jacket as a windshell, but it would be nice to have a lightweight waterproof too. It was definitely a mega journey to get home - 15hrs in total.... Feet are mending nicely now and I'm researching footwear that will fit me better. Happy travels for the rest of your summer! (:

    I like the idea with the sleeping bag. However if it is in the bottom of your pack does it mean you need to pull everything out to access it?

    • @NickLivingLife
      @NickLivingLife  Před 3 měsíci +2

      It’s the last thing I get out anyway 😊
      Tent is at the top and outside of the nylofume liner so I can get it out in the rain without risking other things. Once inside the tent (assuming it’s raining), the next thing at the top is my mattress. I can then comfortably take out what I want. I only have 3 or 4 small bags inside plus my sleeping bag so it’s easy to get it out 😊

    Cheers Nick - did you ever think of doing Hadrian's Wall as a kind of warm up?

    • @NickLivingLife
      @NickLivingLife  Před 3 měsíci +1

      The West Highland Way was my idea of a warmup for my 6-8 weeks of Camino de Santiago (the next videos to come out).
      I have done Hadrian’s Wall or Coast to Coast yet so thinking I might see if I can get those in late Summer or if not a nice Winter trip 😊

      Starts in ulverston lake district and ends Carlisle....
      And let's not forget the Pennine way ... 😂🥳 13 day wild camp to Scotland boarder.... From edale .. near Sheffield. 👍💪 Busy summer for you my friend .... The UK has so many routes to keep yourself busy and build the subscribers 👍💪💯

      @paulmartin7874 Pennine Way has been on my list for so many years so I really should get round to it. I remember doing Jacob’s Ladder in my early 20s with a MASSIVE backpack full of tins of beans, spare shoes and all the wrong stuff 😂. I still get to Castleton 3 or 4 times per year for walks around Hope Valley so I need to just ….carry on a bit further ….😊

    How is the situation with midges right now over there?

    • @NickLivingLife
      @NickLivingLife  Před 3 měsíci

      They were just starting to come out around the May 20th (just a few). I’m guessing it’s more than that now in Scotland but none where I am at the moment (Camino de Santiago somewhere in the middle of Portugal). They’ll never track me down to here. 😂😊
