I embraced Islam when I was 17yrs old, and it took me a year to learn a few basics, met other brothers, and made new friends at the masjid. I'm 49 now and spent most of my life as a practising Muslim. I have the same group of friends, and we pray in the same masjid 32yrs later.

When i converted to islam, my family and my mother was soo sad. I was in london at the time. Im from brazil btw, and she cry sooo much over the phone and was a very hard time i pass, but i was so sure about islam and i keep strong. After fell weeks they all calm down and start to accept and when they see that i change and i was a better person. They all accept… no member of my family accept islam yet but they are very happy about me and i hope Allah guide them to islam, inshaAllah. And i also understand when she said that her head was with islam and the heart was with christianity because i used fell the same even after i converted was hard to detach the felling i was felling for christianity and jesus.. but as i study and ler more about islam and the prophet Muhammad s.w.a. I follow in love with islam. Today i would die for islam, Allah is the center of my life and i am soo grateful that Allah chose me to be muslim. "If a woman does her Five (Daily Prayers), Fasts her month (of Ramadan), guards her chastity and obeys her husband, it will be said to her: 'Enter whichever of the gates of Jannah (the Everlasting Gardens of Paradise) you want.'"

If the person leaves islam in secret nothing will happen. If they leave and start causing corruption and are not sincere, then the punishment awaits them.

I reverted 35 years ago, my mum reverted a year later. I kept praying for my dad and my sister and alhamdulillah my dad took his shahada a few months before he died in 2021 and my sister, the last of my family to do so, accepted Islam earlier this year. I know other families where something similar happened and others still who remained stubborn but your parents love you Rachel and although they may be sad and disappointed at first, they'll come around InshaAllah. You'll be able to explain that Jesus is beloved in Islam too and as you learn more you'll be able to gently explain more to them.

This was me 5 years ago, alhamdulillah im practicing and my father reverted also. I still have family that doesn't know but if they ask i will not deny my faith. I also grew up in a tight knit Christian community and the sad truth is some people would rather see you be an atheist over a Muslim. But Allah SWT guides who he wills. Alhamdulillah

I reverted 3 weeks ago and I have had multiple Christians who found out that I became Muslim all I had from them was laughable arguments and complaints and borderline harassment. But I also had friends from 15 years that have said how ridiculous I am for believing in and try to say its fake and only for certain people . I will never invalidate a person opinion but it seems Christians want to force their ideology on you but can't back their questions when given facts to their answers they dislike it but it also feels like loaded questions. But for me getting through it is I know what I know and the truth is in Allah and Islam and that Allah is the only one to fear and accept and not who leaves you in your family and social circles . Infact Allah works in these ways to allow you to move forward and removes what is not needed in your life.

Christianity to Islam in 2010. I was very close to church, holidays with nuns , church choir , Mary’s children group since a young age etc etc. used to visit priests in their abodes and chat about different things. Trinity ? In faith you don’t ask questions was the answer I would always get. I then found Islam and everything just fell into place. Id say prior - Jesus will punish me if I say La Ilaha illa Allah. I read and read and read. And then I finally understood what’s the truth. And then I understood that yes my family
May not be pleased. But I’m going alone at the end. I’m not bringing them with me. I have to take responsibility for my own decisions. And here i am now. I think your mind is made up. Assalamwalikum, thank you so much for the work your doing, I feel like Allah SWT lead me right to your content at a time when I needed it most. I was born a Muslim, though I had not been practicing for a few years. This year I made the conscious decision to return to the faith with sincerity. As someone brought up in the US, without an Islamic education I’ve always had so many questions about the things that didn’t make sense to me or perhaps agitated the western feminist beliefs I’d bought into (working on decolonizing my frame of references now more than ever). When i reverted to islam one of my family member are not happy, later on.. my brother, father and my mother they reverted to islam when i shared to them it make sense to them. i remember one of the Sheik told me, you have to share the message of islam to your family don't keep it to myself because this is the blessings from Allah.

Dear Rachel, I was in the same exact situation as you one year ago. Very scared of what my family and my community would think and knowing that if I convert to Islam I'll hurt them. The thing that gave me courage to finally do my shahada was to think the following: who am I more scared to offend? My Creator and the Creator of all things to which I shall return InshaAllah, or the people? God fear allowed me to make the right decision.

I was at the exact point as Rachel. I accepted Islam with my brain, I couldn't reject all the scientific facts I've read in the Quran, I couldn't reject that Muhammad is a prophet of God. Islam is best yes. But in this case, while yes it is true that fear is also a main point keeping her from accepting Islam. But she seems not to be convinced yet and also seems to know almost nothing at all about it. But then again she knows almost nothing of Christianity too. You can’t expect someone to just change their faith or religion overnight or with little to no knowledge of it. In fact, she would be more than stupid to leave right now in such condition. For Accepting a new faith, one has be FULLY persuaded and convinced and WANT IT 100% no matter what. They also need to understand it and at least all the basics and read and study it first. They shouldn’t rush it but take their time. This has always been my advice even when I was a Christian pastor and in many many different denominations. This is what I did before changing faiths. Though I’ve changed many times myself, still I took many years to study each time before switching. But now I’m confident Islam is what I was looking for all along and Is the truth.

After you get home, and after the social group wears out and after the concert and the songs and the good vibes, you feel empty. You feel confused. What you’re missing is Islam. Study it truly. I'm a born Muslim in my 40s and come from a practising family.
In all my life, I have never felt that jannah was described as a sexual place.I only get this notion from westerners when I started watching CZcams. In my mind when I was a child until I became an adult who went for classes to study Arabic and tadabbur if the Qur'an, the jannah will and always be for me a place of peace and unimaginable pleasure of which the biggest happines is to see the face of my Lord.

1- Qur'an doesn't specifically say Isa is the same as Jesus. Isa is the Arabic name for Jesus or Yeshua (in aramaic). But it would be pretty obvious for any observer that the Isa being referred to in the Qur'an is Jesus. If it wasn't, the Christians of that time would be the first to object. Isa also was born miraculously without a father like Jesus, he spoke in the cradle like Jesus, he healed the sick (with the permission of God) like Jesus etc etc.

4- as far as I know, there's no mention of the cave Hira in the Qur'an. It's not something we consider important, or something on which we base our creed on. If revelation came to him in a cave or his house or in the market place, it's of no importance for us. Our belief is in what's revealed, not where the revelations came down to.
5- the evidence you're asking for cannot be proven physically today since we didn't have people with cameras recording the incident. 🥴💀 But the proof lies within the fact that book he came with challenged the best of Arabic speaking poets, who prided themselves on their eloquence, to bring a surah like that of the Qur'an. The shortest surah in the Qur'an is just 3 verses. People have tried for 14 centuries, but couldn't make 3 verses that could compete with the Qur'an. The Qur'an itself does mention that it was the Spirit that brought down the revelation, but you'd probably think it's a circular evidence and not accept it.

If we're to take the "he was visited by the devil" approach, (which is a common Christian allegation 🥴) we can debunk that too. If that was indeed the devil, why would the devil ask the readers of the Qur'an to seek refuge against him from God? Why would the devil tell the polytheists of Arabia to stop worshipping idols (which the devil likes). Why would he tell us to stop drinking alcohol, to stop gambling, to stop fornication, to stop killing infants, to stop stealing? I could go on, but I think you get my point!?

Shiites ( Shea} do not apply the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and the prophet Muhammad (pbuh) , but rather they apply the teachings of their clerics and religious leaders.

Don't say never. My father requested to be shrouded as Muslim before he passed away. My mother was the most staunchest Catholic but towards the end of her life she did recite the Shahadah still she was buried the Christian way. But Allah knows best.
I think it'll be best for her to talk to actual reverts of Islam in America (especially muslimahs). So, that she can understand how to cast her fear away (in this case losing her family).

Salaamu Alaikum to all the LATEST converts..... listen I'm in Minneapolis, MN. when I Reverted back to Islam we only had 7 places to pray at and this was (1989).... Now we have over a 100 Masjid, and Musallah, within the Twin Cities and some places were having ( 3) Jumah prayer service and also they're literally having prayer at schools and the Hospitals and now this August 2023 also had Eid at ...U.S.BANK STADIUM 2 TIMES consistent of 40, 000,00. Muslims. Multiple churches are being bought so what he's saying is 100% correct and just this year we're been giving the right to call the Adhan over the intercom at the Masjid....2023 for All the prayers.... Subhan'llah..

There is no such thing as 72 virgins in the Quran. They do not exist. References made in corrupt secondary Islamic texts are utter nonsense.
There are 6,236 verses in the Holy Quran, and not a single one mentions ‘72 Hoors’
The purification of the soul is one of the central tenets of Islam. Purification of your soul by submitting to God and by consistently performing good deeds is what gets you to Heaven. In Heaven, every soul is purified and devoid of any sin or evil. There are dozens of verses in the Quran that support this. (See Linked answer at the bottom)
The word ‘Houri’ mentioned 4 times in the Quran refers to ‘Purified spouse’. In Heaven, every believing person, man or woman, are reunited with their partners in a purified state, free of evil. When our soul is entered into Heaven, we do not go in with the body of the Homo Sapien (which is full of disease, limitations, and eventually dies), rather we are recreated into a new creation that lasts for eternity i.e. Houri.
The Quran specifically states, that God has created everything in pairs. (Verses 51:49, 78:6-16). When you apply this principle to the concept of Houri, it means each purified Man will be paired with a purified wife in Heaven. This is consistent with the re-union of family in Heaven, which is also mentioned in the Quran. (Verse 32:17 and Verse 52:21)
This should explain to you the concept of ‘Houri’ and you should now know that the Quran does not mention any number for the Houris, on the contrary the Quran mentions that everything has been created in pairs and that the family will be reunited in Heaven.
