Today was another amazing day! I did a little maintenance on my 1997 Stingray 190LX as I get it up for sale! I installed a new Garboard drain plug assembly from West Marine. Thanks so much for watching!

Nice work.. I would recommend seal entire flange you completely bypassed the “hole” areas which can leak. seal entire flange circumference and put screws in wet with sealant
Oh good call! That is good to know!
Yea , seal first then drill makes sense,, not sure why all boats don’t have this type of drain plug…seems much safer
My thoughts also!!
On a #8 if you go oversized and drill backwards first. You will not crack gel coat. Same works with pilot holes. Go backwards and burn the gel coat. Then drill the fiberglass. Good video
Good to know. Thanks for watching! Appreciate it!
Good video!!!! I’m going to do mine now…mine broke off when i wet the water out of my boat!!!
Thanks!! I appreciate you watching!! Good luck swapping it out. Let me know how it goes!!
You needed to just caulk a complete circle over hole too, and not caulk around plate, that doesn't help at all, and it looks like crap 😅
@@danielschiel7001 awesome! Appreciate you checking out the video!
Thanks
How has this been holding up? Need to replace the smooth tube on a bass boat and considering changing to a garboard plug like this
So far so good. I have since sold the boat but was amazing before that! It was a pretty seamless install and I’d highly recommend. Thanks for watching the video! Appreciate you!
Dude, that intro 😂
Hahah!!
Would 4200 sealant work aswell ?
Im not 100% sure but I would assume so
Yes 4200 is ideal , 5200 is permanent, if he ever needs to replace it again , all that gel coat will break off with the plug
Bad choice using 5200
Wrong. It's not a part you replace alot 5200 is the right choice.
Stop trying to be funny
I’ll be more like you! Have a great day pal
Everything else was great just saying
Fair enough. Appreciate the feedback and watching the videos!
