We as women come a long way. We are trying to end sexism one step at a time
Woo Thanks for uploading! Great piece of media.
Back then the Pullmans 01500/01600 were also called silver birds. Then they got overhauled from 1985-1988 and gave them longitudinal seating and the current interior and exterior look we know today, it also added PA intercom systems too in the overhaul. Later in the early to mid 1990s the Pullman 01500/01600 was also retrofitted with door closing chimes same ones found in the (UTDC 01700s that were built from 1987 to 1989). Then from 2008-2009 they got the current seat covers as well.
Wow! What a great interview! Glad you found this and shared it. I wonder how Cheryle is, what she is up to, and what her career was like. I know this is many decades ago but it's always nice to know. I wonder who the other two women were. I was about six or seven during this time, so I was too young to appreciate this; it would have been nice if my parents saw this interview and shared it with me. Ok, have a great evening! Also I love these silver birds - love going to WASHINGTON station (before it was Downtown Crossing) ride them and the blue birds. All of my best to you.
Glad to hear she actually liked working with the other people all the way back in 1978 - 1980.
Do you have any more footage of the South Shore cars in their old Metallic Livery?
