What were your Image Adjustment settings in the side by side comparison? I have had problems with setting Sharpness to -2 since the update

Hi there! Thinking of getting 2 action 4 cameras but we want to be able output both cameras to a tv screen with the output from our Sony a6700, do you know if the osmos have this capacity or how that would work?

Yes.often much better video after firmware, though if not side by side I’m not sure I would notice. Appreciate the video! And wish you luck…but remember the house always wins!
I would love your input on an issue. I am having, I am looking for a way to film a stage show. Yes a stage show. I have a comedy Hypnosis show and haven’t found a good camera without breaking my back that could film a two hour show in a semi light low light area.

At 0:27 did u use an external filter for close up blur or it was added externally

mic after the update captures more of the environment aka background noise
I think his mic was on a different mode , the mic has the noise filter setting on or off and I assume he forgot to turn it on

It looks mores sharp and contrasty, more like a GoPro… I’m not sure if that is necessarily “better”, since I like lo shoot in DLOG M, and lower sharpness

hope you didnt loose too much cheddar 😅 long time Vegas native here. I think the image "enhancements" look great. They may have baked in a little more sharpness and reduced some of the compression in the noise reduction algorithm. Chances are we can bring those -2, -1 levels back to 0 and see how it goes. The audio does sound more "sensitive" but maybe not more "full"...although that could be your environment. I only use the OA4 for motovlog so I guess ill just have to watch others take on the changes. Cheers!

I don't see a lot of difference in your comparisons but my own personal experience has not been good with the update. Post update footage from my Action 4 appears TOO saturated! I especially notice it in skin tones. I'm not thrilled.
We need a firmware update so it doesn’t get so hot. I was doing the update and the camera go so hot

Man, just in those side-by-side clips, I really don't know if it looks better. To me it looks way too sharp and contrasty, whereas the before shots look natural and authentic.
Yeah looks like an old camera phone that footage, way too sharp for my liking. I'd rather sharpen in post.
Just shoot in a high fps than 30 then.
i was thinking the same thing. just not a fan of the oversharpened and contrasty look, but it seems to be what people associate with "good quality"

Maybe I'm in the minority but I didn't really see much difference, certainly nothing most people would notice, and the mic 2 sounded better before the update. After the update I could hear all the sounds around you which means it detracted from what you were saying because it was distracting. JMHO. Your mileage may vary.

@@demonhogo I'm not surprised. I stand by my statement that most people won't notice the difference though. Most people can't tell the difference between 780p and 1080p. We photographers and videographers can of course.
They have actually destroyed the quality now in this firmware, not easy to spot but I show it clearly in my newest video (no ad) with snow.
I’m sorry but I don’t agree here. The image after the update has too much contrast and sharpening. Highlight roll-off and shadow fall-off is worse too. It looks like a cheap smartphone camera now.

That would be an enhancement! I returned mine because it was worse than a smart phone...and wayyyy too much sharpening and noise.

@@IanTed thanks for your reply. I tried to make it work, but for me no amount of fiddling with the sharpness, or trying to remove the noise even in broad daylight seemed to work for me. I really had high hopes because of all the great things people were saying about it and the reviews, but for $400, which is a fair sum for me, (I caught a good sale, so it was more like $330, but still a little bit of money) I wasn’t happy with the image quality. The Stabilization was great! The size and form factor was splendid. So also was the quick record feature. I loved the multiplicity of mounts and sticks that came in the package, and the extra batteries included. I loved also the wide angle lens that made walking and capturing myself in the frame so easy. The image quality was the thing I couldn’t get over. If there was any way I could have made the 4K quality at least equivalent to my 2018, Sony, Xperia, XZ2 compact cell phone I would have kept it.

Do not but the action 4 if you plan to get it wet. IT IS NOT WATERPROOF. All seals in my camera were properly sealed and yet water got in and damaged my camera, wasnt even submerged, absolutely unnaceptable.
No issues with mine. Had it in the sea. Ice cold lakes in the Alps - not a single problem.

@@PullThePluGz no kidding, sent it out to dji, still wating response. camera is great other than defective waterproof seal. Bought it specifically to record footage while.on kayak, paddle board, fishing, etc. hopefully dji stands by ther product.
