  • This video has a singular purpose which is to document all the vacuum lines and their routing under the hood and a little under the dash. This is at the request of a couple of people. Hope you find it useful. Please note that this is specific to my 1967 Lincoln with Automatic Temperature Control climate control and my car does not have power door locks. Most of what I show should be applicable to 1966-1969 Lincoln Continentals.

Great video and explanation! I got a wealth of information. Very few videos on vacuum line hook up on CZcams that I could find. My door locks vacuum hose is in the correct place. Once I found the leak in the door vacuum manifold it works great as I mentioned before. I will locate that hose and let you know where it is. I know you are going to add the door lock system as you are able. Keep the videos and great commentary coming. Thanks again!

Thanks Deacon! Glad my videos can provide some assistance. I'll look forward to you telling me where the source of the vacuum is for the door locks.

hey, thanks for all the videos! I can get a lot of information from this. I am also restoring a 67 Lincoln myself. I have a question... where does the vacuum go on the back of the carburetor? the one sitting on the side of the window? Thank you in advance, I will continue to follow you and I think your videos are great, greetings from Holland Richard

Hi Richard! Thanks for the comment and it's wonderful that you are doing this in Holland! Wow - it must be a real challenge to get parts over there. The carburetor on my car is a copy of a Edlebrock 1406. You're question made me laugh because I had meant to talk about those lines too but forgot. There are three vacuum ports on the front. The only one I'm using is the one on the passenger side which is ported vacuum for the distributor vacuum advance. The large port in the middle I believe could be used for a PCV hose, but I have the spacer that I use for that instead. The other vacuum line on the front is manifold vacuum and it's not used either but could be if you need another source of engine vacuum for some function. On the back side of the carburetor, on mine, there is a plug, but it is meant to be used for the A/C solenoid. On the original Carter carburetor setup, that solenoid is activated when the A/C is on. It allows air to flow which speeds up the engine RPMs enough to compensate for the load the A/C compressor puts on the engine. I don't even know if I have that solenoid, but haven't looked into it yet since I don't have the A/C system installed yet.
