I'm Japanese.
"Shimizu" mean not pure water but clean water.
However, the Shimizu that this song says means the name of the city.
Therefore ”Shimizu motsu curry" means Shimizu offal curry.
Kind of splitting hairs with the pure and clear definition. I'm not native to the Japanese language but I went with the most popular title for the song at the time. Still learn something new everyday😅
@@katamichi8003 the point is that the "most popular title" for the song is a mis-translation. The song is about an actual product called "Shimizu Motsu Curry", "Motsu" in this case meaning entrails, giblets, guts. It's a can of curry made with pig entrails.

And it has "Shimizu" in the name because it's from Shimizu. You don't translate place names.
The song was originally an ad for this product. And if it's half as disgusting as it sounds, it really needs all the help from advertising it can get.

The fact that Kikuo is known for some serious lyrical dissonance aka disturbing and morbid songs with cheerful music yet he still made something as pure and wholesome as this though 🧐

I have to agree. That's not to give kikuo credit where credit is deserved. When you listen to his style of music this you almost wouldn't guess this was made by him.
