This was such a beautiful rendition of this song. The video in prison is very fitting as this song was originally written for the 1955 prison film "Unchained". The film centered on a man who contemplates either escaping from prison to live life on the run or finishing his sentence and returning to his wife & family. The song focuses on someone who pines for a lover he has not seen in a "long, lonely time". Home Free are not about theatrics, it's about showcasing the song.

Nice that they kind of payed homage to the original, written for the prison film "Unchained" in 1955, as well as the styling of Bobby Hatfield of the Righteous Brothers.
I thought it was called unchained melody because of its musical structure as it changes keys within the song several times

How great is this again? The whole, just everything together like the lead, the beatboxing, the backgrounds, the harmonies, the picture, the black and white recording, the shadow of Adam on the wall, the story behind the song etcetera makes it perfect for me. Nick, they took this song back to it's roots and the 1955 movie it 1st appeared in. Home Free did it's research !!! Unchained was the movie and it was about two young people separated by a prison and couldn't fulfill their love

This was beautiful!! Please check out Elvis Presley's rendition of this song from 1977, six wks. before he passed away. His vocals were amazing even though he was obviously very ill. I think you will appreciate his amazing vovals.

This song is from a (bad) 50's prison movie called Unchained, hence Unchained Melody! So Home Free have taken the song back to it's roots and did it as well as Bobby Hatfield, which I didn't think was possible!

This song was written as a theme for a movie called Unchained about a man in prison. The movie never went anywhere but the song was nominated for an academy award in 1955. Hundreds of people have covered it but most people remember the Righteous Brothers version. I so love your reactions.

This is awesome with Home Free, and Tim sounds great, and Austin of course sounds just like they used his solo version, incredible. That solo version is now up to just under 9 million views since last year! Hard to believe! You are so right, the solos are great, but the background on this one is really something special. Totally different types of harmonies and even some doo-wop and it's just great how they fill in the backgrounds. That's what keeps us from missing any instruments because of how they use their voices with their incredible arrangements. Whew! Take care, see you soon on Make You Feel My Love! The song is from a '55 prison movie.
There are some songs that are timeless and don’t require covering, I believe this is one of them.
This version goes back to it's roots this is closer to the original sang by Todd Duncan in the 1955 movie of prison life unchained. The Righteous Brothers version was sang by Bobby Hatfield in his tenor and falsetto voice. And it is the verson people remember and try to cover. Tim also did a solo of this song. And Todd Duncans version is on you tube.

Great job! The harmonies were crazy! I would love to hear Home Free do a version of “Kiss From A Rose” by Seal. There are some spots that all of them could shine, and the harmonies would be incredible. Just the chance for harmonies at that beginning part would be enough, if you know the song.
