- In this video, I'll show you how to enroll in the ACA "Obamacare" plan without any income.
If you're 26 years old or younger and have no income, you can enroll in the ACA "Obamacare" plan. Income is not required to enroll. The only issue is that without income, the insured will not get any subsidies nor CSRs.

@agnesvs9263. For some reason, I can't reply directly to you. but here is the answer. try Medicaid first. If not, ACA would work but without income, and no Subsidies. She could be claimed as a dependent under her adult kids. Ill create a video explaining that tonight
Excellent video. Thanks!
I appreciate your feedback! I'm glad the video was able to provide you with some valuable information.

Thank you!!
If the IRS only allows you to claim a child as a dependent up to age 24 and ACA allows you to be on the parents plan up to age 26. That’s 2 years where you can’t claim the child as a dependent. So how do you answer the house hold size question?Just (2) people (mom and dad). How do you add a dependent in the application? 🤔 Thanks Luis!
I'm not a tax pro. So I don't know how that works. My question to an insured is this, tell me about your tax household. If that 25 or 26 yr old is not on the tax return, then I don't add them. They have to get their own plan and use their own income.
If they still claim that 25 -26 yr old, then I include that person on the app.
I hope and pray that you see this! I have a scenario where my 26 year old son is living at home. He just turned 26 and hurt his knee so he has not worked in the last 5 to 6 months. He did not want to get his knee looked at because he thought it was OK and now it is not OK. So we need to sign him up for insurance he is self-employed. Last year he brought in around 40,000 but this year his income is much lower. I still have to get the calculations from him but it’s under 10,000. How does that work out with the affordable healthcare? Will he get any help?
We live in Montana if that matters
I just saw this. You should be able to get a policy on him. The lower the income, the richer his policy will be. Low deductibles and out of pocket
email me. I not licensed there, but I can see if I can find you an agent there
What is the Open Enrollment period to get a Jan 1st start date in ACA? Is it till Dec15th? If so then a person that signs up from dec 16-jan 31 can only start on February right?
Its Nov 1st through Jan 15, 11/ 1 -1 12/15 - 1/1/23 effective date . 12/16 - 1/15/2023 = 2/1/23 effective date
I have a client who is over 65 years old. Does not work and lives with son and family, she has a Social Security number but not claimed as dependent, never worked or lived in US no more than five years. What would be the best option to enroll with 0 income?
Medicaid looks like that might be her best option with no income
AS far as ACA, she could get it, but with no income she would have to pay full price
Does this differ by state? My wife and I are hoping to retire a little early (50’s) and live off of savings through my “gap” years until I can pull down from my 401k.
Thank you for this video it was extremely helpful!
it does, but as long as you have the required income, you can get subsidies
@@thinkmedicarethinkaca
So depending on the state, there is the potential you can have ACA with 0 income (living off of savings)… but you aren’t eligible for subsidies?
Thank you for your time and content!
@@nicpollifrone8634 with $0 income, you will not get any subsidies. You might qualify for Medicaid. You need minimum income to qualify for subsidies
@@thinkmedicarethinkaca thank-you. Medicaid is based on assets not income as I understand it.
@@nicpollifrone8634 depends on state.
Would you try to cross sell this example 26-year old with no income on a hospital indemnity plan, for example?
You could. But indemnity plan is something that just adds to a health insurance plan. It’s better than nothing but it’s certainly not true health insurance.

@@thinkmedicarethinkaca Sorry, to clarify, my question was whether to try to add an indemnity plan to the insurance plan for this example, rather than standalone. Thanks!
@@LS1Obsession for sure. We cross sell that every time. I use Allstate Health Solutions. IF you need a contract for that, let me know . email me: luis@360insurancegroup.com

What do you do when they ask you if they are currenlty enrolled in a plan ain the application how do you find out
Please rephrase your question. I don't understand what you are asking me
Why not medicaid in that scenario. How does a no income pay?
Some states like Texas did not expand Medicaid!! So they are out of luck. In other states that did expand, they can get Medicaid
