FG Budgets N9.3BN For VP’s Residence+ Uju Kennedy Files N1BN Defamation Suit

- Honorable Minister of Women Affairs, Barrister Uju Kennedy Ohaneye’s interview on the morning show where she failed to list the six pilot states where a $500 million World Bank project will be implemented, has made rounds on social media.
The interview took place this Monday the 24th, Just 10 days After the honorable minister filed a suit in the High Court of Enugu state against Honorable Khafilat Ogbara, and ARISE TV asking for 1 billion naira for what she believes to be defamation of character.
Reports indicate that the State House spent N244,654,350 on the purchase and supply of tyres in a single day.
This expenditure is not at all surprising, as the 2024 appropriation bill allocated N350 million for tyres and an additional N6 billion for purchase of new motor vehicles for the State House headquarters.
Three different offices under the Federal Government the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President, the FCT Administration, and the State House for the Vice President have received budgetary allocations exceeding N9 billion for the renovation or construction of residences for the Vice President.
Abia State University Teaching Hospital in Aba was temporarily shut down on Tuesday following a peaceful protest by the institution's medical and health workers, who were demanding the release of their salary arrears.
On Tuesday, the Abia State government announced plans to pay the salaries owed to state civil service workers in tranches.
According to the Minister of Finance, Mr. Mike Akpara, the current administration inherited a debt of N16.5 billion owed to the state's workers.

It is interesting how this Tinubu administration can find money in N billions for tires, new cars and renovation of Deputy President's residence, YET this same government screamed that it cannot afford to pay the workers the engine of Nigeria economy N62, 000 per month in wages that is not even enough to live on [emphasis added]. Its is foolishness for the governor of Abia whom is supposed to be an example not to have value for the workers. These issues he would have resolved before now.
Pls sir, let me give you some information.
1. Governor Otti , came in may 29th 2023. When He received June allocation (which was his first) he paid the salaries of workers for the month of JUNE, then he went back to the 6 months salaries owed to the state workers. He paid for January 2023. Then In July, he paid for July and then February. In August, he paid August and March. September, he paid September and April..that's how he went on Till he cleared the 6 months salary of some workers.
2. Why then was there a protest?
This protest was carried out by the ABIA STATE UNIVERSITY TEACHING HOSPITAL
Only. Signify obviously that there's (that's the owed salaries have not been paid) another set, still under same environment, Is the staff of ABIA STATE UNIVERSITY. So, here there's no secrecy. And obviously, the Governor has addressed their plight. HOW?
HE said that He would pay them in batches, in order not to SUFFOCATE the state economy.
This is TRUE LEADERSHIP... WHY DO I THINK 🤔 SO?
