There is NO SUCH THING AS SHYNESS

  • Hey y’all!
I hope you enjoyed this topic, it's something that I have battled with for many years and so I hope you can grasp my perspective and maybe even share your own down below!
Here are some reflection questions to ponder throughout this video. Share your thoughts & ideas below!
    1. When do you notice yourself being “shy”? Can you pinpoint the settings where you are shy/ more reserved versus when you feel totally free/ no inhibitions.
    2. Do you often hold yourself back in social settings? How does that make you feel within the setting and after?
    3. What has been your experience expressing yourself with others? Can you remember a time when you felt misunderstood? How did you deal with it?
    Reminders
    - The space you hold is valuable.
    -Your perspectives are valuable.
    - Your uniqueness is your superpower, it is not only valid but needed in spaces, rooms and hearts.
    - Expecting people to understand you is demanding. People come to see and understand you through authentic expression.
    - Find comfort in being with you, then start expressing it with others.
Love you all and thank you for being here. Until next time, xoxo Abi

yep, I used to hear "you're so quiet!" all the time.. really irritated me, I was comfortable being the quiet kid but being judged for it so much made me self conscious about it which made it even worse. it was definitely a fear of what people would think of me, ive always been neurotic and tend to over think things. when I was younger I couldnt really parse my thoughts from facts, so I would just take negative thoughts about myself as fact, or imagine what people would think about me etc.

Very relatable! I used to be very social in grade school. I had many friends and acquaintances; but once I got to college that change as I found out there are so many other unique ppl in this world and in comes comparison 😅 killed my confidence and I became “shy” . Now as a full fledge adult I’m still that way but take the time to work thru it and see that I have value in any situation. Its a work in progress

I was thinking about this recently. This is very true. Also, I think when you feel like you are not good enough, you project it onto others and feel like 'Oh they will definitely not find me good enough'. Again, thanks for this beautiful video.

Girllllll I loveee this video!!! I’ve never watched a video that is sooo uplifting!! When I watched it I was like I wish I was this girls friend!!. I love how you have tips, and also explain the meaning of shyness(because tbh I didn’t know, that I didn’t know what shyness means 🤣🤦🏾‍♀️). Girl keep making these videos I love it. Like I came across it today and this is the only ‘be authentically yourself’ video that has been life changing for me. Since I’m always portrayed myself as a quite girl because that’s what the people around me was like but after seeing this video I feel like you have helped me to express my crazy koko side and be proud that God created me like this. Keep doing what you are doing girl!! Support you always 🫶🏾🙌🏾👏🏾

i’m not a shy person at all, i’m quite extroverted and love being around/meeting new ppl. but as i’ve gotten older, shy ppl really freak me out. i definitely get the sense that shy ppl are deeply uncomfortable w something, and it’s such an unsettling energy to be around.
since i was young i remember putting a lot of energy into trying to make sure the shy ppl around me felt comfortable and included, but this gets so exhausting over time. it’s hard to know if ppl are quiet/shy bc they’re uncomfortable or if it’s bc they’re totally at peace w being their own world.
i completely agree with you! it’s so much better to feel connected to ppl!
