I hadn't thought about it before but I really do appreciate the tribute to male and female friendships. I too have had a lot of close female friends throughout the years and I didn't realize how rarely represented that was in entertainment. Those relationships are so important to me and It's great to be able to relate that to soemthing. I think it's easy to write romance it's easy drama. I can remember a few shows the one that comes to mind I won't say the name because of spoilers but it's an otherwise phenomal show about a male and female detective duo. And I loved their friendship and literally the last episode they get together and I'm like what????? why?? it just seemed completly off to me. So I do appreciate this.
One example I can think of is from Luke cage. Friendship of Scarfe and Misty.
I know I'm replying to an old comment but I also just wanted to mention that alot of the time, when people see a male/female friendship, and they state that they are just friends, everyone assumes one or the other (usually the guy) is in the friend zone.
Like, no? I am friends with a lot of girls, and I don't want to get in all of their pants, like, a guy and girl can just be friends guys, it's not unusual.

@@charmingpeasant9834 the writers of the reboot trilogies actually wanted Lara and Sam to something more and pushed for it, they unfortunately couldn’t.
I'm really looking forward to where they take Lara in this one. They keep saying she'll have her 'defining moment', and I'm not quite sure what they mean yet, but I'll trust them lol.
There really was no defining moment in the end.

@@joelechat59 She's been a ruthless killer since her 1st kill in the 2013 game, between that kill and the one when steps out of the water in Shadow, she had killed more people than classic Lara ever did.

In a way Camilla Luddington has become Lara Croft, because she gave soul and personality to that character, much more than Angelina Jolie or Alicia Vikander did in the movies. No one is more Lara Croft than Camilla Luddington is and it will not sound like Lara if another voiceactor play her. The best would be if Camilla played Lara in the films too, cause she kind of look like her too. So much honor to all people who made the reboot games, but most of all to Camilla Luddington, who gava Lara soul. she really is Lara Croft now.
Jolie gave a lot to Lara aswell, she's de-facto Lara on the big screen.

I wish this is not the last game of the tomb raider series because i love these game since that the matured lara showed up, I still want to continue the tomb raider series but the appearance of the character model and the actress should still be the same cause it was perfect. So I hope there are still tomb raider games up to come.

That was really cool. Sounds like 'shadow' is at least partly meant in a Jungian sense, which is something I was hoping for (Lara needs a little introspection). Can't wait to play, as I really loved the first two parts of the reboot trilogy!

Although Camilla is very beautiful, I believe Lara is even more gorgeous! She looks amazing in Tomb Raider, stunning in Rise of the Tomb Raider, but in Shadow it's a little off but still really good! Whoever designed her face needs a raise
she looks amazing in tomb raider 2013 bcs structure of the face is based on real model face ( not camilla ). On the rise and shadow, square enix use camila face to re-model lara face ( u can find the reason in a video , im not good to explain it ). Shadow face looks more chubbier. Even i never play the rise before, i agree the face is more stunning in the rise and ofc tomb raider 2013 than the shadow. She looks older in shadow ( bcs she is ) more muscle and fat too.

@@thesexyskywalker3283 The 2013 CG trailer and promo concept art Lara for sure was a sight to behold and outshined even Camilla, but as far as Lara's game character models go, nah, Camilla still looks prettier.
@@charmingpeasant9834 I think out of all the in-game models Rise of the Tomb Raider is for sure prettier. You can see the structure of Camilla's face except it's prettier lol I understand the in-game model for 2013 never captured the CGI trailer because of tech limitations and the model for Shadow they degraded the shaders and textures so that's why it looks bad.
My case is that Lara is prettier than Camilla as a whole, including all her designs. I think we actually agree, because you are saying in-game she doesn't look as good, which is true (except Rise imo)... but you are comparing a video game to real life anyway. Let's give it a few more years for the graphics to capture that hyper realism. So there's that 🤷

I love the new Tomb Raider series. You battle animals, people, and environments. All this in an adventurous exploration game.
I just hope they make a new Tomb raider and don't change the "game". Just make it similar to these ones cuz imo IT IS a true masterpiece as it is. Shadow will be the game I will play even if I'm 60 y.o. I swear to god.

As someone who is fascinated by the Maya and their myths, this was definitely my favorite of this trilogy. Was it annoying that you had to wear that stupid serpent outfit to do half the missions? Yea. But it was worth it. I will say, as far as the story of how Lara's father is killed, I still think nothing will ever beat Underworld. The plot of that game is definitely my favorite of all the Tomb Raider games combined.
