Wither Killer Nether Star Farm!! Works in 1.20!!

- SAFE EASY Wither farm for Bedrock Minecraft 1.19!! We CAN still use the end portal to kill our Withers, and I'll show you how in this video!
Farm Materials:
20 Obsidian
2 Buckets of water
12ish leaf blocks
1 Soul sand
20ish Temporary blocks (can just use some endstone really)
Optional Item collection:
16 Hoppers
2 Chests
To find west:
1 Dirt
1 Sunflower
or
1 Locator map
or
1 Pumpkin

Just built in 1.19.31 and it WORKS! Thank you!! This was the only recent video I found that didn't involve sacrificing an outer islands gateway. The only part that didn't work for me were the optional hoppers in the ground; each time the Wither destroyed them, so now I collect the drops manually.

I’ve actually now built this as well on my realm and I’ve found no need to replace the blocks surrounding the bubble column

Writing this on May 13th, 2024 on version 1.20.81:
I build it exactly as you did and it worked exactly as intended on the first try. Then went I used it a second time, the wither lost about 75% health from suffocation before randomly escaping and destroying everything before I could finish it off.

I appreciate the support! The only obsidian that really matters is that ring, which can get broken on occasion. Feel free to replace it if it gets broken, its really just to keep the wither skeletons in one place!

I cant thank you enough for this, it works perfectly! I tried killing the wither without any cheesy way like this but he breaks so many blocks that my frames drop alot :(

@@randomvideo8485 I forget the version honestly, but the date of the video should give some idea. I've updated where to place the soul sand after some of the more recent updates and works like a charm still!

I made this exact build and it works GREAT! I’ve used it to beat four withers so far.
I have one concern/question/issue:
Last night, I summoned a wither. Very shortly after it was defeated, endermen began to repeatedly teleport onto the obsidian platform below the portal. Isn’t it true that if an enderman touches the wither, then the wither will escape? How can I prevent this from happening? Do I need to place even more torches around the island? (The whole island is lit up pretty well, but a few endermen like to spawn anyway). Any help or advice from anybody would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I tried a 3x3 soul sand In the same position and covered it with 2 blocks of water like you did.. It allows me to strike the wither with a sword without him escaping. But you still can't add multiple Withers at the same time.
Also* I found out a Trident with impaling 5 can kill them very quickly because it's in water.
Nice! I'm sure there's even more ways to customize this farm! I'm happy to just let the wither suffocate though :) lol.
Just an update: I built this farm about 2 months ago and it was working well. I had heard that an update had broken some of the other wither killers and they had to be redone so I just tried it again. This killer will take the wither down to half health but when he spawns in the wither skeletons they push him out of the bedrock and he is free to roam around. I was able to kill him still because he stayed around the water and decided to dig down instead of going up in the air. Guess it will be back to the drawing board.

IMPORTANT UPDATE:
It may be that this Wither killer no longer works as of the subsequent updates after 1.20. I just tried to use this device after having it work just fine before. The Wither broke out, killed me, and threatened to destroy the central end island. Luckily I was able to take it out with other gear I had in storage and recover my stuff, but I don’t know if I would recommend using this design now. I think the wither skeletons it spawned somehow managed to nudge it out of the bedrock. I should have known something was up when it shot a blue skull at one of the obsidian pillars while it was still in the bedrock trap.
I got my Nether star but only after nearly having a heart attack when it broke out and then fighting like my life depended on it 😅 I can now say that I’ve taken out a bedrock wither, on hard mode, in the end dimension 😂
It probably didn't work since you're on bedrock. Bedrock mob farms are notorious for being far inferior to their Java counterparts
i was having the same issue normally ill play on hard mode but for me to get this to work with no issues, and get my star i just turn it to easy mode when i want to summon him, and it works like a charm i hope that helps.
This is actually safer than making a wither killer in city portal.
Because I accidentally fall into the void😞 and lost all my stuff including full set of netherite armor 😣

Playing on 1.20.60. Made the trap to spec and it works once or twice, but on subsequent uses, the wither escapes once the skeletons spawn and I can’t figure out why. Unfortunately I’m not sure I can trust to use it on our realm.
if you’re in survival do you have enough time to swim out of there instead of fly after you spawn it in so it doesnt kill you?
I believe so! you could also make a hidey hole in one of the walls behind the water curtain.

It worked the first time then after that it got out and almost killed me I think you have to put back the soul sand and the water.
This does not work any more but if you add 3 more soul sand around the other one centered in the square it works

Still works in 1.20 but it didn't drop the nether star

You know, I hadn't tested that, but the mechanics should be the same. In theory I THINK it should work, give it a try!

I did this in 1.19.51 and the wither spawns outside the chamber... (Edit: Thank goodness I did it in creative first.)
Thanks for bringing this to my attention! I did some quick testing and if you move the soul sand one block down so the first piece is placed against the bottom of the portal it will spawn in the correct place!

Can u explain why when i make a trap for the wither he breaks blocks when hit or suff
hitting the wither has a chance of knocking it out of place, letting it escape. there are ways to make it so you can attack the wither, but this design really is just relies on suffocating it.

if you move the first soul sand to the very bottom and build it off of there it will still work :)

2:55 Uhm. You never heard of ice? Just place regular ice, and punch it with your fists. The same goes to the bottom part.
Why there’s no point just do it with water it’s easier
@@andrewlaurel-pr2fp You serious? Regular ice gets turned into water instantpy when destroyed 🤦♂️. Placing water takes way longer.

This is not currently working consistently in 1.20.10
@@fulltimefool2666I can also confirm that this generally will not work on 1.20.10. Some point the wither stops suffocating, breaks the obsidian, and escapes.
