- Today we visit West Africa's Biggest Tea Farm to work and learn how tea is harvested and processed in Nigeria.
The Kakara Tea plantation is located in Mambila Plateau, in Sardauna Local government of Taraba State, Nigeria. It is the largest tea estate in west Africa and the only tea estate in Nigeria. It is estimated to cover an area of 615 hectares of land in 3 different locations.

For a split second, I thought it was a tea farm in Kenya. Just look at the beauty of nature. Peter Obi during his campaign mentioned harnessing the vast lands in the North. What a beauty to behold. Nigeria is indeed truly blessed. Thanks David for sharing this part of Nigeria with us.🇳🇬❤
Thanks for watching Obi Dike. Kindly follow our Northern and Eastern Nigeria Doc Series Here: rb.gy/zfcsy6 and rb.gy/mdz3fx
This must be the views Peter Obi saw while overflying the Mambila cold regions and dreamt of Agricultural Revolution in Northern Nigeria. The Mmbila Plateau Region has the right weather conditions for growing TEA, Coffee and flowers. Imagine Peter Obi unleash his FROM CONSUMPTION TO PRODUCTION agric/Industrial revolution, Nigeria will quickly catch up with Kenya and Ethiopia in tea, coffee and flower production. This will mean more work for Nigerians and economic boom. Nigeria needs a good government first to drive this REVOLUTION.
Peter Obi kept talking about Taraba and the growing of tea. Wow
I wish PO get his mandate back and do as he said. this place needs serious investment and promotion
@@DavidNkwa He never had a mandate. Stop deceiving yourself! This is Tarabe, not East. Could you show us such a farm or any great updates in the East? Taraba government and people make this happen.
@@afolabitoye4393 Yoruba and Igbo phobia. Show us yours in south west. We Igbos import many of the gadgets you use. Import and pay import duty. Everybody has their expertise. North is known for agriculture, east is known for commerce and trade, south south is known for tourism. What are you Yorubas known for thuggery, emilokan(my turn to eat Nigeria money.
I must admit you have the most interesting Nigerian CZcams channel!

This brings back memories of my geography field work at the Ndawara tea estate in the Northwest region of 🇨🇲
Taraba is the third largest state in terms of land mass in Nigeria and it has a very fertile land for agriculture.
Very true. Sadauna LG is the largest in Nigeria
Tea for the World! I am a craftsman and I like people who work with their own hands not sitting allday long on the computer. These people are soo beautiful, because they reflect the Original Life. What kind of trees are in the back?

I intend to look for Highland Tea when I visit the mall this weekend. This is too beautiful.
To think after work on the plantation, they have to go home & take care of the home. It's a tough life.
Oga you're too tall to pluck, you will get a deformed back with prolonged exposure.
Tea is big in Kenya, but I think the staff are paid more.
In the Western World (people have phones to listen to (to pass the time)).
I love how they harvest the tea leaves.
I thought it was in Ethiopia, I never knew it was in Nigeria

The agricultural and tourism potential in the central region is yet to be explored, and it's shameful and embarrassing

Hey, I love your videos. Could you put the words at the bottom?
My State
On the other side of the border, there is a town called Ndu, not very far from Gembu
Ndu is also well known for tea plantation
All these highland areas from Taraba In Nigeria to the western regions of Cameroon have similar weather and very good soil for agriculture
Nigeria with illogical structure to harness businesses such as this. Compared with Kenya 🇰🇪, a global tea brand which understand how promoting their brand and market makes them a force in tea production.
Strangely, the pidgin English they speak in that area in Taraba state is like that in Cameroon...
Wow
learning a lot from your channel young man all the way from south africa
David good job promoting the local industry
Thank you
2,400 naira, 3 hrs work a day for 22 days in a month that is 50 thousand naira . that is almost double minimum wage in nigeria. Lazy people will come here and say there is no work in nigeria. make una go hustle. Nigeria no bad at all.
Great video
thks
Who owns the tea farm?.
I will cover that in the second episode, keep watching.
Rufai go let una see am😃
My state❤
Thank you David Nkwa
David you do a good job but please verify your facts first before you make certain statements, there are many large tea plantations in other parts of Africa. I wish you could visit Kenya and see tea plantations that cover the landscape from horizon to horizon
Thank you
Another great video.
We will be asking for Highland tea at the African shops here in Canberra Australia.
Cheers
