It's quite easy. You just set the boiler temperature at a level that doesn't scold you. And it's a throwback to the time when people had hot water tanks and the water wasn't safe to drink.

We do tip but it's for good service rather than contributing to their wages

We have sockets in Britain. An outlet in Britain is where you buy discount clothing etc etc.

I work in hospitality and tips are optional. Tip if you want you, if you have good service. It’s not like the states where we depend on tips to live, tips are like the cherry on top of the cake. All my expenses are covered by my wages and it’s like that for most people I know in the industry. And I’m not from a well off city like London, I’m up north

to know what way to look one way roads. look at the direction most cars are pointing. usa you look left first then right, uk right then left but of course in both country's as you crossing you keep checking both directions till you cross the road. jaywalking a thing i never understand. in uk at a young age we taught how to cross road safely. driver in uk, roundabout give way / yield to the cars to the right but usa if be left

you not jaywalking in uk because no such thing as jaywalking. we only have a few limited roads you cannot be walking on like. motorway your interstate / freeway esp emergency or some ring roads like you divide highways but lots divide highways uk duel carriageway you could walk along edge of road but its not advisable as it a 70mph road if a national speed limit. the tap thing hot and cold, old days you had coal fire what heated up a back boiler, hot water storage in a different tank and could be sitting around a while so not best to drink, but cold tap is drinkable water. even now both my house and mums house has a combi boiler but still has two taps exp for the kitchen. some places it get hot very fast, but my place it heats up slowly whats good, wet hands then soap then waters started to warm, time you washed soap away its borderline very hot. top of that one tap the water is cloudy cold tap is Crystal clear and safe to drink. two tap thing basically the way we did heat water up, coal fire heat water, but as it could be standing a while Bactria could build so not safe to drink unless boil first i guess

i may tip the hairdressers, but they come to my house and normally its keep change so if £7 and i got £10 note they get the change but only really a recent thing, and cost fuel did almost double it help them with the staggering costs plus id save my fuel and avoid £2 parking charge. or at the hand car wash places, a few i go to often, its same sort of thing keep the change grab yourself hot drink but mostly i do that in winter as they the ones out side in the cold and wet and they do a great job so yes i get them a coffee, but they are good even go above the job description a few times so tip is well deserved. everything else 99% of the time no tip. like food orders, you already pay shop delivery cost so the driver should be on a livable wage as ive already paid for food to get to my house. im im asking for more than what there job requires, like new to area you ask for places to visit but they go out there way to help yes they get a thank you, normally get your self a drink, or round bill of to even number. 99% i do not tip just the few and that's not every time. ive gone to small local garages looking for a toilet but they only had staff only but they bend the rules, so i pick up drink or snack even if i already got as if im using the services i buy something to cover some the cost
