Also by the way this is a plein air painting done in oil paints on a cotton canvas. I was painting at Point Fredrick near Gosford on the Central Coast of NSW Australia.

Thank you it's really nice I enjoyed watching you paint. There are so many pictures I have done that I am not sure about. My wife will have a look and let me know what is wrong or right about it. My Daughter is the same, she has convinced me that I am a decent painter and I shouldn't beat myself up about it. There is always the ugly stage and I have to trust myself to push through. As a good friend said I am not, which ever artist I am watching, I am me, and I don't have to produce the same thing, I have my own style. That's probably the best advice I have been given, and it's advice I share with everyone. Thank you again, this is the first one of yours I have seen, it won't be my last.
G'day Peter, Thanks so much Mate. Yeah that's right I agree. Family will tell me straight what is good or not but a artist friend might not be so honest. I always tell them straight coz I want them to improve like if it's to dark or blue the best advice is honest advice I think. That's so true about our styles too. I used to try to paint like someone else in the early days but am glad I found my own style after many years. Still tweaking it though.

We are our own worst critic, I can always look at a finished painting and think don't like this bit or that but that's what keeps you going to paint again. No challenge there if you could paint a perfect painting. Your videos encourage a lot of painters to just get out there and paint. Keep it up Tez soon be summer

In my experience, most of the painters who are totally satisfied with their work are terrible. Hang in there! Love the videos.

Plein air is hardest because of the shot time window. Easier in the studio to come to what you want.

I appreciate your enthusiasm in getting up and getting out there in the cold! As you said, that’s the way plein air painting is. You just have to want to be out in nature and want to paint more than you mind the weather. What a crazy lot we are!🤪 We are just moving into the hottest part of the year in our weather here in New Mexico. We are out painting scenes from our Organ Mountains with an “artist in residence”. We will collect all the (8”x10”, acrylic) paintings and make them into a mural display. As a watercolor painter, using acrylics is new for me, but also fun.

G'day Nancy, Thanks so much always Nancy and thanks always for you're kind words. So it's getting hotter over there now how and we are getting it cooler week by week. That sounds like fun doing the art residence. I've always wanted to do one of them one day. The Organ Mountains sounds nice to paint at. I love using acrylics and maybe you should have a go at gouache. One day I want to try gouache as well.
