AB227 - Worker Misclassification Update

AB227 had its first hearing on March 22. This bill, sponsored by Assemblywoman Maggie Carlton, would dramatically reduce construction misclassification fraud and worker abuse in Nevada.
Without the kinds of protections that AB227 affords, misclassification runs rampant, and this creates an uneven playing field. AB227 will also help the contractors’ board enforce Nevada’s contracting laws appropriately.
