    When debriefing after the t junction you asked her if she was trying to rush out of the way of the van and I agree it seemed that way although she didn’t really give an answer but back at 18:20 you said ‘quickly just do it’ meaning she needed to indicate quickly before reaching the junction. However, I do feel it’s possible that she misunderstood your urgency and was rushing to pass the van and do the left turn as per your instruction.

    That was brilliant Savannah, few minor blips but you're still learning. I'd give one wee tip, when you're driving quite fast don't be afraid to press quite hard on the brake and slow right down before putting the clutch down, I used to be scared of stalling the car, it won't stall unless you almost stop it. Looking forward to your next video.

    Mistakes happen but the way it was explained about the T Junction was great, you can't beat around the bush with some incidents, you have to be firm and detailed.
    When I was a learner I used to take corners a bit too fast and used to gear down as I was turning 😅 and that didn't help at all! She'll get it though, with the right kind of teacher it makes it so much easier for a learner 🙂

    I’m 15 hours into driving lessons and still stress about slowing down approaching roundabouts/junctions from 30/40/50mph roads. I worry about slowing down too early and affecting traffic behind which resulted in being flustered & giving myself too much to do with not enough time. I’m just about getting over that now, my instructor doesn’t really see it as an issue anymore it’s just something my mind still stresses about. Having an instructor who doesn’t make you feel bad about mistakes, after all that’s how we learn, makes all of the difference. I know people who used to dread lessons for this reason whereas I absolutely love my driving lessons and it seems like Savannah does too. A hallmark of a great instructor☺️

    • @VenomousCatastrophe
      @VenomousCatastrophe Před 22 dny

      This is exactly how I feel... and I'm sure many others do too. What we must remember, is that we are slowing down much, much earlier than a more experienced driver, because we need more time to assess the situation ahead and think about what our legs and hands are doing. We might get the odd impatient person, but we all start somewhere.
      It's not until seeing others comments and watching this video that I'm noticing what I feel is what all other learners feel also.
      We'll all be okay. :) Wishing you the best of luck with the remainder of your lessons and for your test, when it comes to it. Fingers crossed!!

    If there is a big gap to a traffic on green, there is high chance of it changing so knock off slightly on the throttle slightly if it doesn't change you can keep on the accelerator. What you dont want to do from a distance is race the green light as the red light is highly likely to beat you to the line . Then your speed is too high to stop and when you do you are at high risk of an artic through your side

    Hey Aman, when moving out of a space in a very tight road, is it necessary to use the gas pedal as well, or can you just use the clutch - same as creeping out of a junction - wouldn’t just using the clutch be better control?

    • @wrightwoodwork
      @wrightwoodwork Před měsícem

      You've just answered your own question. If tight or can't see creep

  • @wrightwoodwork

    When someone stops to wait they are happy to wait. They dont expect you to hurry up . The man in the van was in a safe spot as you where already committed and there wasn't loads of places to pull back into for him or you it is best to let you come through. Yes he could move forward 1 can and pull in or you could stop and wait and let him through. Yet by holding back and waiting is actually better flow for that situation . Now if he had a queue of traffic behind him and the queue looks to be near the junction you should if you can pull in to let him through even if you have priority. As for best traffic flow you don't or want to avoid having a queue of traffic onto the main road .

    • @lzontha

      some how manual and auto is around 42%
      edit: come to think of it people dont fail because they mess up gears or the clutch most of the time its due to hesitating and forgetting to indicate, bad checks ect so it does make sense how the pass rate for auto is similar

    • @fraggsta
      @fraggsta Před měsícem +5

      This cycle lane had a broken (ie: not solid) line. That means it's a advisory cycle lane, so the cyclist didn't have to use it if they didn't want to. The only cycle lanes that they legally MUST use are those with a solid line. The Highway Code says that a cyclist might want to be in the middle of the lane if the road is narrow and it would be dangerous for cars to overtake. If you're unclear on this, see rule 61 and 72 of the Highway Code.
