Happy birthday. I'm glad you mentioned that you'd clean it up and that it's not the custodian's responsibility. The teachers where I work make it a point to let the students know the same thing so they clean up after themselves.
I always did, too, but most of the other teachers did not. Then they were mystified why my classroom got deep cleaning while theirs didn't. 🤷🏻♀️ The custodians didn't have to do the basics so they had time for the deeper cleaning. Not rocket science, y'all....
