  • In Philadelphia, it’s hard to make it anywhere without passing a restaurant that serves the city’s most famed culinary creation: the cheesesteak. Several spots are loved by both city natives and out-of-towners, but locals know Jim’s South Street as one of Philly's well-respected originals.
Jim's serves Philly cheesesteak the classic way, complete with Cheez Whiz, onions, and top round black Angus beef. It's been a go-to spot for cheesesteaks since 1939. Insider’s Taryn Varricchio headed to Jim’s to find out why locals say this South Street restaurant makes the best quintessential cheesesteak in Philadelphia.
