@@caroline750 no lol. Did u watch her video? She doesnt use the whole jar of coffee that she made for one cup of coffee. There is enough coffee in her jar to make 3 seperate cups of her preferred beverage, iced coffee. So it would be around 3 dollars per cup of coffee, maybe even less if you dont need to drink as much as she does in a serving.

even 3 dollars is ridiculous so my point still stands. 3 dollars is the occasional going out and getting one but I drink multiple cups of coffee a day and so do a lot of people. the price is awful. point blank.

Cold brew takes 12 -24 hours to make. She only left it over night. That's 1/3rd of the required time for cold brew. With a medium roast you really should be shooting for 20-24hrs.
That being said. These are preground and packaged. It's gonna have no flavor.
3 bags is mad expensive but also in Emma's defense her recipe calls for a much larger Mason jar intended for at least 3 mugs of cold brew.

I've tried many local coffee shops and farther out in my area, from hot drinks to cold, no company so far I've found puts as much effort and craftsmanship into making drinks like Peets. I also used to work at Starbucks, and I found their coffee to be rather ... disappointing.

The water recommended for the 3 bags cold brew is 600 ml which is about 2 1/2 cups of water so I think it's pretty close to 1 bag per cup when you convert it
If you'd like the coffee-in-a-tea bag experience on a budget any outdoors store or even the camping section of Walmart will have coffee in tea bags. The Coleman brand ones are like 4 bucks a box. Enjoy.

Soooooo I think the use three bags for the cold brew is probably just so people will use three bags and have to buy a shit ton more coffee. She will soon come out with a new recipe of 42 bags of coffee per cup.
Old comment, but cold brew uses an ton of coffee to make the concentrate. Even when you account for having to water down the concentrate, you still use more grounds than the brew hot at double strength, then ice, method (iced coffee). Or the make two espresso shots, then water down and add ice (iced Americano). It does have the benefit of being able to up the caffeine content by less/no dilution of the concentrate, but you can have more control over the caffeine level with an Americano.
If she was serious about coffee she'd roast her own beans and send them out shortly after they were roasted and tell her fans they had to grind it on their own because ground coffee loses most of its flavors after a few hours.

If you were really serious you would take a pestle and mortar to your beans because by graining the bean it cause the coffee to have a more bitter taste.

But WE stuck with them because they were HONEST, thankful and kind. Every late order received a hand written note. Thanking the customer for their patience. If there was a issue, they would include it. It’s SMART business to have your ducks in Row and be honest. A very popular gaming company, Bethesda, is often caught under fire for dishonesty. For rushing product that’s not tested and promising promotions that don’r match. While people love the “Fallout” series (‘me included), Less people will trust their next launch. Mistakes and delays happen. But in this day and age, you can’t get away with dishonesty.
I won’t purchase from them because of this. Good coffee or not... my money is valuable. Integrity means something. We have to hold these brands up on the same standards. Or w are as responsible.
@M Mac Well you and I both, but you missed the point. How you HANDLE the situation matters and is a business move. The note is symbol of how accountable business practices work. Not being prepared does not validate mistreating your customers or printing labels to provide shipping codes to without intention of shipping (possible they did intend it)- it's poor business. Printing a "sorry I am late" note, that literally can be down separately by an admin and dropped into a package take minimal effort and doesn't slow down production. But again, that wasn't the point - their integrity and accountability was.

I used to work at a coffee shop (not Starbucks, more of a local NC chain) and we had cold brew coffee for order. When I started working there, they told me that cold brew coffee is smooth and doesn't have hardly any bite to it, but people would complain because they thought the coffee was weak since it tasted weak (even though it has the same amount of caffeine). So what they started doing instead was brewing regular coffee and then refrigeratoring it to make it cold. "Cold brew" but not brewed cold. If you base your knowledge of cold brew coffee taste on what you get from coffee shops, I have a bitter fact for you: it's probably not actual cold brew!
Real cold brew is very mild and has almost no flavor. It's supposed to be that way, it makes it easier for people who don't like bitter flavors to drink it. Not saying Emma Chamberlain's coffee is good, it's probably shitty lol. Just saying I'm not surprised your cold brew had no taste.

I make cold brew at home regularly, and I sort of agree with you both. It's definitely not bitter like hot coffee, which is what some may mean by bite, but it is still really strong if you make it right. It's supposed to be so strong that you water it down. It is very smooth with none of that coffee bitterness, but im the video she said that it had no *flavor* in general so I think that's probably what she meant by bite. It is medium roast too, which isn't ideal for cold brew. And it also looks like very small grounds. Cold brew is supposed to use the darkest roast possible and be coarsely ground.

The one time use coffee sold in some local shops in my country have this built in coffee filter thing that you hang on the mug. It looks like that tea bag, but there's a hook thing on the side so the bag is not submerged in the water and the top is open so you could pour water in it. Everything is made from paper even the packaging (also it tastes really good).

That is horrible business, a few years ago I bought a vape pen online to help deal with my anxiety at work so I could have a break and they ran out of the color of the pen that I wanted. They wrote back to me apologizing and let me pick out a free item{ I picked a case to keep it in}. And again they sent me another email letting me know my order was going to be late by a few day's. You know what they did, gave me two free full sized juice's.
That is how you do business, not the crap that they did.
Yeah best online service I had was from a filtered bottle company - put mine in the dishwasher, it completely melted and i emailed asking what I did wrong (I didnt know they werent hot water safe my fault) They sent me a new hot water safe one for free! I was floored.
I mean smart companies would rather replace the product than risk drama and bad rep. I once had a leaky cap on my hydroflask (i know i know hahaha) and sent the company i bought it from if i could get a new cap, they refunded me all my money for the bottle since they didnt have any replacements in stock and i was able to buy a replacement cap for 1/3 the price on a different website

Seeing this a lot more recently. Influencers looking for some quick cash and not bothering looking at an ongoing income. Knowing their name will bring in that initial interest in the product but not producing a decent quality product to have the customers coming back.

This has been happening with games as well -- they use the existing name, throw out a not very well put together product riddled with issues that wasn't thought out well, and basically cash out. Money grabs =-=;; Issue with all of these is that it only works maybe once or twice, then everyone that knows what is up will steer away from the company/group. Maybe they will get lucky with a newer group who is oblivious to all of the past dealings, maybe they won't. But it is definitely a bad business practice and terrible model to use

It might’ve worked if they steeped it for longer, cold brew at my work is steeped for 20 hours. Maybe its different cause of how big the batch is? I do think that for the hot one it should’ve been instant.

I feel like I was scammed out of $50 about 5 years ago now. Years ago, when I was still way into Harry Potter, I supported a fan movie about the marauders. I paid that much so I could get posters of their cast as version of my favorite characters and a DVD. Five years later, there's no product. I know that there are delays on movies, some famous movies waited that long before they were released because of excessive post-production--but they took my mailing information with the posters and I was never sent them. When I sent and email inquiring about the posters and the address, it was never responded to. I feel your frustration with this kind of thing. It is annoying. I don't know if I'll ever get the product and, if I do get it, I might not even want it. At this point, I don't want the product. I no longer love Harry Potter as much as I did and I'd be fine without it. I sometimes think about that $50 and how I wasted it. It's not a terribly huge amount of money, but it deeply affected IF I support future projects by creative people.
For the first time in 5 years, I decided to support a kickstarter for a product and I donated significantly less simply because I didn't want to spend my money on all the fancy stuff when I have no idea whether it'll be carried out for sure. It's so hard with things like this--especially when it doesn't feel like they are communicating effectively with their audience.
I'm pretty sure I know which one you're talking about, I never donated to it but was excited to see it come out, but it just never did, I even followed them on Facebook for updates about a year ago I noticed that they were posting a lot of content completely unrelated to anything remotely Harry Potter like a lot of those weird cement building videos and viral videos pretty sure they never made their goal, and never refunded any of the money that they were already funded with because they spent it and then they sold their Facebook page.

Just started watching your content for the last week and have to say i enjoy your take on the subjects I've watched. Glad to subscribe.
Barista for 5+ years here: pre-ground coffee is never going to be as flavorful as fresh beans (roasted within a week of getting them) that are ground immediately before brewing. Some people don't like a strong, punchy coffee flavor so pre-ground works for them. The tea-bag idea isn't terrible because it means people don't have to go out and buy filters, but I bet this coffee is already a month old by the time it gets to people. But if you're expecting your at-home coffee to taste like it's straight from the coffee shop, you need to buy fresh beans (find a local roaster if possible), and grind them each time before you brew your coffee. Grinding fresh also means you're getting more caffeine content; coffee immediately starts to lose caffeine and flavor as soon as it's ground, so getting it steeping as soon as possible is key.
can you try eve cornwell's millennial coffee club coffee? she announced that it would be released soon & apparently it's ethically sourced coffee with biodegradable packaging.

Emma recommends 3 tea bags put into one large mason jar, and after its chilled overnight you can pour it out separately with a creamer, or at least thats how she did it and some other reviewers. I don't think she meant using 3 bags just for 1 cup of coffee, just 3 bags to produce a large amount of cold brew

3:24 - 3:46 I’m embarrassed of how many times I comeback to this video just to watch this sequence
Its kind of a cool idea to put the coffee in their own filters so can drop them in and pour over hot water (good idea for coffee on the go) but it looks like tea (very thin and not robust) and it doesn't have any crema at the top which is what I do when I make espresso and sometimes can get when I do 8oz coffee, as you pour over you can get a small bloom. It does strike me as hotel on the go kind of coffee which is fine, nothing wrong that but for the price and time it took...they can do better.
No wonder she’s always drinking coffee. She just has cold sweetened cream with some caffeine added! Had there been ice added it would’ve been fully watered down and that’s y she’d NEED to add creamer (after the soy milk) cause it’s the only way it’d have a taste besides watered down coffee as well as watered down vanilla soy milk 🙄
The ONLY ONLY ONLY good thing is that putting coffee grounds in tea bags would in fact make it easier to make coffee without needing weak ass instant coffee. As well as allowing u to taje those little bags with u if ur going to stay with someone who is NOT a coffee drinker or doesn’t have a coffee pot or if ur going somewhere ur not sure will provide one (air b&b 😖 that week was rough)

Cold brew does require more coffee grounds since you’re not using hot water. I will say if you grind your own beans I find it to be less bitter and less acidic than coffee made with hot water
Did you leave the cold brew overnight or for 24 hours. It’s super important to let it sit for the full 24 hours. I’ve never had chamberlain coffee so I don’t know if it would make it good but it should make it better.
Devon Moxley normally i would do 24 hrs but the directions for Emma’s Favorite Coldbrew were to leave it overnight
You could literally do this with your own grounded coffee of choice that costs a hell of a lot less, and you can ground it fresh. God I hate influencer money grabs
Influencers would stop doing it if people didn't buy it. But people keep buying it because they worship influencers. So the only people to blame are the viewers.
My order took a month too! I ordered the same exact thing, 10 bags and a mug. I tried contacting customer service and I never received a response! I was a bit nicer about the coffee in my video, but the audacity of Emma to call it the best coffee ever lol

Like idk why you didn’t do this, squeeze the bag, that’s where all the flavor is stored like I do it with my tea otherwise it will taste bland and just be a colorful water.
