People complain that Belos doesn’t look intimidating anymore, but I think that’s kind of the point. He might look like a normal old man, but you’ve all seen what he can do. What he has done. I think it’s to show that ANYONE, no matter how friendly they look, is capable of horrific things. Kind of a twisted take on “don’t judge a book by its cover.”
Also, showing his "nicer" face sheds light upon his relationship with Hunter. Not to mention the resemblance. They gave us a _lot_ of information in a couple of minutes without actually saying anything.

Honestly I prefer it this way. There’s a really big ableist trope where you show how evil a character is by how deformed they are (because hey if you’re ugly you must be evil), so I like that they chose not to play into it.

I'm not gonna lie; it's scary how not only you've deduced that Belos's real name being Philip Wittebane because of the distinct British accent in his voice, but also on the fact that Ortet is a plant where clones are descended, which foreshadowed Hunter's true backstory on what he really is in the later season. So, that would mean...Hunter wasn't the only being of his kind Belos created.
Amity is so adorable. She's trying so hard to be the best girlfriend in the world and it makes me squeal to the point my parents ask if I'm ok.

There’s enough scattered details, like the chipped ear and the ‘scar’ on his face to make it seem like there’s something off, but you can still buy why Hunter would stick with him. And for those who think he’s not intimidating anymore. Let me remind you of something.
Sauron from Lord of the Rings once took on a fair face. It fooled the Elves into thinking he was a force for good, which helped him get the 19 lesser Rings of Power made. And we all know how evil Sauron truly is. Don’t judge a book by its cover

I personally think that now that hunter knows how much luz means to amity, he and belos can use that against her cause they know that she’s really strong. Also in the episode hunter said “You’re strong and I’m tired. If this keeps going, your probably going to escape.” He admitted that she is stronger than he is, and knows that pretty much her only weakness is luz. Also now since both sides have some Titans blood, they can both make portal doors. So now it’s just a matter of who makes it faster. But luz doesn’t know that they are making another door. Amity might know because hunter said that belos needs the blood for the key, which means they have a door. Sorry I know this is a lot lol, but these are pretty much my only theories. #kikibitch

I think if he had his normal staff he probably could have taken Amity. Amity is definitely really strong, as he acknowledges, but with his staff Hunter was apparently second only to Lilith in the emperor's coven back when she was at full power. And while I definitely think and it is at the point where she could put up a fight to just about anybody I think it would be a bit of a stretch to put her on the same level as the Clawthorne sisters back when they were maxed out

The one positive thing to come out of the series ending with a three-episode season three is that Dana has no time for filler episodes, so they are filled with so much exciting stuff
I think when Hunter was telling Amity about the message Luz sent her, he wasn't trying to be mean on purpose. I think that he just didn't get the message either and based on his projecting and own experiences, he believed it was something else. Also, I feel like people should treat the whole "Hunter's grave" thing more seriously.

I think Belos not looking intimidating is the point since in that moment we’re seeing him as Hunter wants to see him, as someone kind and fatherly, which only serves to push a sort of horror as you contrast this view of Belos, how Hunter sees Belos, with how he really is, *especially* towards Hunter himself.

Amity understands hunter due to them having alot in common. That is why she left titans blood for him. She feels bad for him might being replaced so she took half and left half for him. This will most likely effect both parties
Or it's because he threatened the thing she loves (Luz) and in order to salvage the situation she broke the key to keep some of the blood while saving her Luz
I don't think she purposefully left some for him, she probably was just trying to get some to keep. It'd be hard to judge exactly how much she could get without making it obvious that it was broken.

Because just with the first part with Belos and Hunter, we find a lot of interesting detail like the portal key, that page about The Grimwalker, and the reveal of Belos's face.

I will say this, the phrase "it would be such a hassle to replace you" has been used before. About Raine. Darius says it right before trapping Raine with their Bard coven mark. I don't think it means Hunter is a clone (other things do), but I think it certainly has meaning.
Also I just realised that Belos and Philip have not only different voices but different accents.

My favorite bit about Amity not understanding Luz's weird emoji's is that Amity obviously was just like "Yeah, for sure Luz, I totally know what these mean. I'm cool af." Cause you already know Luz gave her this super cute form of communicating to each other and she was probably like "Let's do a test run!" And when Amity couldn't read it, she could have spoken up to her and said "Luz, wtf does this mean?" But NOPE! Amity had to impress her new girlfriend by pretending she understood and act all cool about it. OMG. This show keeps nailing how it feels to have a crush as an adolescent and having a teen romance, cause I for SURE would not have admitted I didn't understand something my girlfriend obviously did to somehow seem cool. 😂😂 Love it!!
When Luz sent the first message ("You're pretty"), she was beaming. When Amity didn't understand it, Luz looked hurt and confused.
This is why Amity will always be my favorite character in this show. She grown up to be a brave, loving, smart young woman. She's a awesome fighter, and she's smart for breaking the key getting some titan blood for themselves. She is a awesome girlfriend!!!

Amity's fight with the Golden Guard was beautiful. It was like something out of Kingdom Hearts! Dana and the crew continue to raise the bar!

A part of this episode that I only noticed recently but really like - Luz is supposed to be neurodivergent, and the tamagachi texting thing was a fun and elegant way to show that. Amity and the audience see a string of meaningless emojis at first, but if you just change your way of approaching her (i.e. turn the thing sideways) she has beautiful and important things to say. Also I like that it's King who immediately gets it and is just like "weh" *turn the thing around*. Sweet sibling energy.
Amity is the MVP in this episode she's not only being an amazing girlfriend(😏) also she show how smart she is and that's why she is one of the top students in Hexside and she is awesome in fighting like she look so badass in the fight scene and she didn't even broke a sweat with Hunter

I’m currently watching this after the whole season came out and the titles now spell “Seek the key fear the lock” the first season actually has the same thing and it reads “A witch loses a true way.”
Edit: season three reads “thanks for watching” and “to them the future and dreaming”
So what I think from that episode, Belos is probably planning to transfer his soul to Hunter`s body to stay young for the day of unity maybe to get full control over the titan power since Belos is a person and also old along with that curse making him weaker. The face in the book is definitely similar to Hunter`s eyes and nose. So that Hunter might actually be a clone Belos created in a younger form for him to use it when the right time will come. Belos probably wants to take over a whole world of wild magic but also want to stay young and powerful when that will happen. So hunter seems like a crucial weapon for Belos to use for that big moment the way he is being sooo careful with Hunter`s safety.
Okay, so that my theory on that. So many thoughts going through my mind lol. Might not be exactly a fact but if that`s close enough to what I`m thinking about, Hunter might be in danger. Damn I can`t wait to see the next episode for more clues, even that was already a lot to process.
Also, Amity was so epic in that fight with Hunter, damn she is strong.

One thing i noticed about this episode: when Luz and amity were using the tamagoshi thing Amity symbol was a cat like her palisman and Luz's symbol was a bat so i think her palisman could be a bat

I feel like I'm so late to the party getting to know toh just now when all the people went through the emotions from the beginning of the series and some grew older with it :( But anyway, I'm in love with your reactions and this specific playlist had make me realize so many freaking things! When I first watched it, I was just invested not really paying attention lol. Second time I actually put some attention on the writing, story work and creativity part (finally understood many things) and now I decided to give this a try and I've been binge watching it, you really know how to portray the emotions and I feel like I'm looking at it from the first time and in VIP getting more and more info on stuff I didn't saw before!

This series just keeps out doing itself each episode at a time. This episode was just… so good like all those girlfriend titles killed me and Amity character growth was just amazing and it really shows how far she’s come when telling Hunter that there’s people out there who’d make him feel like he’s worth something. This episode made me love Amity even more which I didn’t even know that was possible. Also that animation during the fighting scene was a fucking masterpiece. Also Owlbert on top of Ghost in the ending is adorable
And that Lumity hug in the end… I’m deceased :)

The fact her Palisman is named Ghost confirms my suspicion that Amity was based from the Danny Phantom show. Think about it, her name is Amity (Amity Park), her magic is abomination magic (looking like very slimy Ghosts), and then her snowy-white Palisman is named Ghost (Enough said).
Also, it's cute how Amity keeps saying that she's Luz's girlfriend, like that's her greatest accomplishment.
Actually I have a slightly nicer theory. One, the grimmwalker is Bellow's plan to transfer himself into a curse free body. Two, it's implied that Hunter is the head of the Emperor's Coven, so his main comment may be a nod to why Raine was kept alive, he didn't want to find a replacement with the Day of Unity being so close. On a darker side note, if he IS going to sacrifice Hunter for the Day of Unity, I'm betting that's the plan for ALL the Coven Heads.
I have to admit, while like others I saw Hunter being involved, Kikimora WAS a surprise for me.
I think Dana will be so proud that the fans is going to go crazy about Luz and Amity are now become An Awesome Girlfriend, and the animation are so amazing in every single episode!!!

I will say a little detail I love is the early relationship between hunter and flapjack. At first he seems like an annoying bird who is intentionally messing with hunter but he pulled him into the path because he know Eda would be someone that would help him. Flapjack had seen how bellos treated hunter. He also in the fight with amity protects hunter by blocking the blows and does more defensive magic like dodging and in the end he sticks with hunter because no matter what he says, hunter does need flapjack.
