As a Stars diehard I disagree. The Stars have home-ice and lost it. The Oilers don’t have home-ice and didn’t gain it. The Stars needed that more than the Oilers. That loss hurt the Stars way more
This collapse wasn’t that embarrassing considering the Avs have been doing this all year. I saw the Avs beat both the Leafs and Canucks after going down 3 and they did it to Pittsburgh while down 4.

I wouldn't say the Stars were outplaying the Avs in OT. The Avs started strong and then it tilted a bit towards the Stars. Both teams got some quality time in the attacking zone before the winner was put away. Very similar to the first, where Avs started out really strong, but ended period 1 with a 3-0 deficit.
I think people are seriously overlooking the two soft penalties that led to the 3-2 point of the Avs comeback in the 2nd. The refs made two very poor calls and it completely shifted the momentum of the game in favor of the Avs who are notoriously dangerous on the power-play like all top-heavy teams. The Stars had all of the momentum after the first, and were leading into the 2nd and the two penalties called were pretty visibly just not penalties that should have been called. Yes, the Stars could and should have played better and more engaged in the 3rd, but they were tired - the Avs were a week rested - the Stars had all of their forward momentum halted then stolen- the list goes on. Just how it goes sometimes. Stars are very clearly the better team overall, they just need to prove it and get it done.
It's fine. Stars are going to wreck the Avs. Series is 1-1. The only time the Avs are able to score is after the weight of boredom from playing such a grossly inferior team lulls the Stars to sleep. Otter was phenomenal last night. He isn't Hellebuyck. He gets sleepy, too you know.
