I would love for someone to help explain what Most medical students and doctors mean by research is it like a presentation or are you physical going Into operation rooms and taking notes on things or are you just researching how procedures work and What cause things to happen the way they do ?
Research is usually separated into clinical research and lab research. Clinical research is more macro level research and involves working with people. An example would be testing different treatment measures of medications for a particular illness. These often involve clinical trial’s where patients are enrolled to participate in studies. Lab research is more micro-level research and occurs in a wet lab (like a chemistry lab) and works with things other than humans (like chemicals). Both are for the purpose of advancing the field of medicine and stem from current problems we have that don’t yet have answers. I hope this helps!

That’s a good question. I only mentioned it in my application when I was discussing a few community service events we did and it only came up in one of my interviews where my interviewer was also in my fraternity.
