First pint I ever bought was 52p and I couldn’t tell you what a pint costs now my last alcoholic drink was New Year’s Eve 1999. Woke up New Year’s Day with a hangover from hell that lasted 2 days so thought I’d have a dry January and I felt so good after no drink for a month I never bothered to start again.

Don't remember this pub but I do remember The Lighthouse pub there. Even that's long gone now.

It's more likely early to mid 60's. Draught stout commenced around 1959/60..

My grandparents owned a pub around the 50s/60s. The main rule was no talk about politics or you were out. Lads would still be arguing about Dev/Collins and causing murder.

Hi Laura, I know very little about it other than it was at the top of Walkin St in Kilkenny, I no longer live in Ireland so I wouldn't meet any of the folks who could tell you about it but I'm sure if you post a link to the facebook sites, Kilkenny Global Community or Kilkenny Down Memory Lane someone would be able to give you lots more info. Try and contact Conor Shiels below, he says it's was his granduncles pub.Best of luck with you search. Richie

This must be a very holy place, No cursing or swearing, No women only a tinker woman of the very highest standards, No fighting, No planning a coup, No takeover, No talking bad about the neighbors, No drinking bad pints of beer, No planning to go band robbing, no planning to go sheep stealing. No stealing potatoes from the farmer's field in the middle of the night, No getting into trouble, No thuggery, No fist fighting, No exaggeration, No tall stories No laughter, No trouble at all. Only do and say as I do, No I would never go to a place like this

You'll have to go to the newer Pubs with plenty of 💰 go past security listen to all the distractions tv Games
People having a meal no laughing no fun just very expensive alcohol Prices now that's a pub I won't Frequent
