@@jenshu7 hello Jen! On Medium a lot of writers made an analysis about it, basically her followers influenced her big success in short-term. But you can make good money on Medium if you are a good writer. I have 7 months in the platform and in the beginning I was making around $100 and now $1000.
If you want to be a writer, keep in mind is not going to be the same result as Shelby but with time you can achieve big things with time.
What is Medium?
Fascinating how you are willing to expose this information. I find the majority of the people, inside and outside of social media, are very protective of any financial disclosures. Nice to see you, and Monica, are very straight forward people, willing to share yourselves with us.
I think that there's so much info on CZcams about it now it's pretty easy to reasonably guess what any CZcams makes on Adsense each month. Brand deals are a different story.. but I'm happy to share what has worked for me and what hasn't

Love the transparency! I also really admire the fact that you must make an incredibly high yearly salary but you seem to be really smart with it. Like living with roommates, making investments in property, etc. I listened to you on Graham's podcast and I dont think you gave yourself enough credit for how good you are with money. It's great to see, vs the CZcamsrs who are flexing and blowing it all on cars, expensive apartments, etc. Thanks for your inspirational and real content ❤️

so true. Keeping money is much more important than flashing it with a flash car, I love flash cars and had one that cost me a lot in fuel. I have learnt my lesson to have a cheap run about until I have my own property, then shell out on a nice car. Shelby is a great role model x

Yes.. I did not realize that either. My Medium articles do more like the 4 cents she got that first month 😂 I figured it was a waste of my time.. but maybe I just need to do more research and write articles that are of interest to more people.

Earning money on Medium is super easy. Really. With zero blogging and writing experience (besides my Master's studies), I racked up a pretty nice sum in no time.

I love how open you are about this! Although I get significantly fewer views than you do, I also experienced a similar large dip in CPM around early spring. Like you said though, this was similar across the board for creators. It’s interesting to see how RPM/CPM changed throughout 2020 given all the changes that happened.

I love hearing all these off the wall ways to make an income. Your Medium earnings is more than my 35hours a week job all year.
This is amazing!! This is why I keep telling everyone how amazing CZcams is as a platform. I would be surprised if Shelby made under $1,000,000 once you include sponsors, affiliates, and other income.
You think she made 3x her CZcams income of 250K with sponsors, affiliates, and other income? How.
yeah i doubt this high but shes for sure doing very well! lol
@@MollyPorter She's rejecting 10k deals, she's probably on the 20-40k deals per sponsorship, 10-15 of those and she's already making more than her ad revenue.
For example, Andrei Jikh made 872k from affiliates compare to 663k from ad revenue (you can watch his video "How Much Money I Made In 2020") and he also said that he didn't took 800k from sponsors because he didn't like the companies.
So YEAH, they're making SO MUCH MONEY with sponsors, affiliates, and other income

This is really excellent! So many people are just so hesitant to talk numbers as they feel like people might judge them harshly for making too much, not making enough, or whatever.
