Did you measure the clearance between the piston and the cylinder? And what about the end gap of the piston rings? Reusing parts because they look good can be a bit tricky (the old piston of my SR500 looked fine, but it was worn nonetheless).
From what I know, honing your cylinder means that you put in new piston rings, as the rings and cylinder wall wear into each other. Also if the cross-hatch on the wall is gone, then I suspect the counterpart to this wall (i.e. the rings/piston) must have wear too.

Yes new rings measure the in gap measured the pistons and wrist pins. I Honed The cylinders The little bit of scarring that was there is still visible but you can't feel them nothing to catch on the rings So I'm hoping everything's good Thanks for the reply bro👊👍

@@krmoto5158 Good to hear! Was a bit scared you would put back the rings just like that ;) I have a '80 GSX1100E (GS1100E in the USA) and my dad has two '82 EZ's, so I will watch your other vids to get some inspiration :)

@@timondijkstra5825 that's awesome to hear love the EZ model..One of my 1st bikes was a 1980 GS 750e That I had bought in 1990 that had sat in a garage for 7 years left to rot wish I would have never sold it. The GS models are definitely great bikes motors very strong and reliable So just keep building on that bike It pays off in the end stay in touch I'm curious to see the end results on your build🏍👍
