- This presentation covers the following topics: How communication abilities can change after a stroke. What is aphasia? How you can help -- some strategies for communicating with individuals who have aphasia
I am a caregiver to a client who recently had a stroke and has aphasia. This has been very helpful as I would like to help him as much as possible
I like her analogies. Good information. 👍 Just wish she included ALL people with Aphasia...no matter how they got it. 😕

Did you know Mackenzie Health offers stroke education videos on CZcams? Have you or someone you know been affected by a #stroke? Here's one from our Stroke Education Video Series about #Communication After Stroke. Watch this video or share it with someone you know. czcams.com/video/Nw8rlUAnJL8/video.html
I understand there are 5 types of Aphasia? I had a work injury from lifting and carrying 250 in 30Ib increments over 50' which resulted in a 'mini stroke' 'ischemic stroke.' I can't remember my yhoughts after 30 seconds or less. I have difficulty in word finding and use wrong words in what I want to say. My most common thought is "what was I just thinking?" I don't remember!
