      Definitely. Oak hollow mall isn’t even a mall anymore. And it appears high point university owns most of high point with all its colors throughout the city. Crime unfortunately is probably worse from that time period.

    I grew up in Archdale, NC so I knew....or used to know High Point very well. I've been back to that area a few times in the last 18 years & every time we go we are either appalled or surprised in how much High Point has changed. High Point University(HPU) has taken over A LOT of the areas.....even the old Oak Hallow Mall, street patterns have seemed to changed just a bit. Old places that we used to know seemed like empty streets & shells of places that once was. :-/ At least they still have the BEST BBQ!!!!!

    yeah, not sure if it's still as bad but 10-15 years ago it was a heroin hub (it was baaad even before fentanyl). Us Winston teenage junkies would make the near daily commute and old Greensboro road, I couldn't go anywhere near there, it was really bad attending Guilford tech, which is down the road. man, some of those hoods really scared me around high point university. tmk they were occupied back then. the whole area was patrolled heavily by cops.
    yeah, that's how the drug deals work, you drive by another driver on a more secluded residential and do the exchange. ugh, it was not good as my friends would play with fire by shorting dealers this way.

    • @TobyRussell
      @TobyRussell  Před 2 lety +1

      The easiest way to tell that is to see what else is for sale or sold near them. If they are all 50,000 houses then that’s the neighborhood. But I’d it’s a 50,000 house in a 200,000 neighborhood then your probably better off.

    "If you rent, do what you have to do" ummm.....some people prefer to rent vs pay a bank and insurance company for 30-40yrs for something they will
    - never truly own due to the ability of gov entities capability to take the property and/or govern how you can use the property
    - constantly be repairing or upgrading to maintain the value
    - be forced to police the neighborhood and risk personal safety to keep out problems that can affect the property value
    - will likely never see a positive return by selling.
    Actually....The money saved by renting cam be put towards true profit earning investments
    These are only a few valid reasons some way would rather pay $800(random number) a month to rent or lease a home rather than pay a bank for 10-15 years in hopes that when they actually begin paying towards true equity in a home it will be worth what it was initially and they haven't outgrown or desire a newer or different dwelling. A renter can live in a home 6-12 months and move to a different home if they desire without the hassle of paying someone as yourself to help them find another home to be tied to so the false belief that home ownership is part of the "American Dream" that was put in placed by greedy bankers when our government went to a finance system that almost put financial institutions out of business. Buying a house over 30-40 years is the worst financial decision or investment any American could make. Sure you probably make a living as a Realtor selling dreams but most " truly woke" wealthy or financially intelligent people will agree leasing any expensive asset such as a nice home or new car as well as other thought to be taboo spending practices is the only smart way to gain wealth and build a financial legacy to live on after your time on earth has ended.
