All I can say is I don't know how many RPG groups you've helped with these building instructions but what I do know is we are all very grateful and keep up the good work on this epic project 🎲
Will do!
Amazing! And very useful for building not-yet-ruined fortresses as well.
Not a million miles away from an Osgiliath ruins set. Lovely work as per usual.
Yeah... I've tried to make them fairly versatile (I might even make some low dungeon walls with them too :) ).
Yup, to Drivethrurpg I go.
Hats off to you sir!
You are a godsend, sir. And these are beautiful.
Glad you liked 'em :)
This is definitely getting used on my table.👍
These came out great. I like the look of the based piece but they seem pretty sturdy on their own.
Yeah, the corners don't really need any additional support - it's mainly just the little 'straight wall' pieces that I made that need something like that.
Fantastic terrain addition!
Absolute banger of terrain design - I love watching your stuff in between sessions I have with my D&D party because it pleasing and awesome to watch!
Glad you're enjoying the vid's (hopefully you can put some of this stuff to use too!)
Excellent as always Kris.
If the lines are a little bit off, that's ok, it'll give it a bit more of an organic field.
I'd like to make a few of these for my HeroQuest Board for entrances and exits, to give the start a grander adventure look.
Thanks!
(much like yourself, I'm also thinking of doing some 'dungeon' stuff with these too :) )
Clever! I've made print and paste foam core terrain before but never thought of cladding the raw foam edge with printed textures let alone crumpling the pieces to get it to fit better.
Fantastic! Looks like I have some ruins to build this weekend. 🙂
Judging by some of the comments, I don't think you'll be alone :)
This is the most awesome Print and Paste terrain you have done. My head was buzzing with ideas and I truly can not wait until you do the next one. Thank you so much for doing it. I am especially interested on how you plan to make it more 3D? On another note. What is the chance you could use a freely available simple graphics program so we can personalize your fantastic work. Such things as colors, size and style of stones and blocks etc. I would pay for such a tutorial from you. You are a most excellent instructor on the CZcams format. Thanks for what you do.
Thanks for the kind words.
If you want to change the colours of a few things, I wrote a short blog article over on the blog if it's of interest:

@@CrookedStaffTerrain Thank you I will check it out
Absolutely love it. Definitely something I’ll add to my future campaigns!
Keep on your great work. Looking forward for the extended versions. 😁
Glad you liked it (plus, there's always room for some old ruins in a game :) ).
As always, these look amazing!
nice work looks like it's diorama ready
I do need to make some kind of miniatures display with some of this stuff at some point 🤔
Excellent Maestro Excellent
Absolute genius
Thanks for the video! Another triumph in design and application!
No probs.
Awesome work! I love it!!!
another great piece of terrain.
:) thanks :)
Beautiful work as usual
I've been waiting for this!!!! Awesome Kris!!!!
Here's hoping it was worth the wait! :)
@@CrookedStaffTerrain Absolutely!!!
Absolutely fantastic 👍😁
I really like your work. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks (and no problem).
BEAUTIFUL
Just a couple minutes in and I LOVE it!
Really good!!!
This is AWESOME!!!!!!
:) Thanks.
Hecking great!!!
Looking forward to you adding plans for additional levels. This was a good tutorial. Also, It ALL made sense, don't worry about that bit. (Besides, for us slower ones, we can always play it back until it does make sense). 😁
Great job again.
Great addition to the terrain line up. I was just making basic tiles for an old friend and Ill definitely add this to the list. Thank you much for sharing this with us.
No probs (I hope your friend enjoys the set you make for them!)
I really love the clean look of all of your builds.
You can tell it isn't dwarven construction because of the way the bricks broke down… 😉
All jokes aside I really love this texture and tutorial!
Glad you liked it :) :) :)
Pation!
Excellent!!
Awesome! Always inspiring creative ways to make terrain.
These are great. It would be awesome if you made these into a castle we could print up too.
I'm not sure if I'll get around to a full castle - but a tower and/or stone buildings are on the list of things to do :)
fantastic work !
Thanks!
Another home run, you're incredible!
Another awesome video, mate! Looking forward to the multi-plane ones, with maybe a ladder up or spiral staircase thingie? Also, whatever are you doing with all those half finished pieces that is swapped out of the videos, where you TV chef yourself and have stuff prepared. Hope they are not unused, as they'd feel so lonely and unappreciated! : O)
All the stuff that's set aside to dry gets used up after I've finished filming (as I usually need multiples of whatever I'm making anyway :) ).
Also, I hope you're doing well (it's been a while since we last spoke).
Simple, clean, elegant as always. Is there any chance you put out a scifi version of these? 3inch squares are perfect for games like Deadzone and big space marines!
I don't have any plans for that kind of thing at the moment I'm afraid (as I'm not playing any sci-fi games right now).
Awesome as usual, I don’t recognize those trees… can you point me to that episode?
They're just larger versions of the bushes that I made in this video: czcams.com/video/m72JQ5JZTKk/video.html
(but I used those decorative scissors that I used on the tiny trees to cut out the circles... which saved a lot of time :) ).
Thank you. I can most definitely see a use for this latest instalment. Your fantastic textures have saved me a fortune on creating terrain for my gaming group. Not only that, it has really enhanced the game play. Thank you once again.
I was wondering if you have a .pdf that could be downloaded covering all of the various measurements for creating the different items? Widths and lengths for say bunkbeds, tables etc.
I don't have anything like that sorry (I think it would quickly turn into a bit of a lengthy/intimidating document 😅).
It probably sounds a bit silly, but whenever I forget how big I made something, I just go back and watch my own video 😂
But most of the time, I just make things that look about the right size compared to the miniatures I have... and that might alter slightly, depending on the brand of mini's in your collection.
@@CrookedStaffTerrain Yes I do the same thing. The videos are an invaluable guide.
Love the pine trees at the end. Is that the same texture as your normal trees? Also how are they assembled? Just a hole in the center of each leaf layer?
They trees are just larger versions of the bushes that I made here: czcams.com/video/m72JQ5JZTKk/video.html
(though I cut the circles out with those decorative scissors that I used on the tiny trees ;) )
Verry smaaaaal question, did you remove the paper from the foam core before or just went with it on? Love them
The paper on the foamcore that I'm using is stuck on pretty strong (i.e. it's not the easy peel type) - so I just left it on :)
Fantastic! Where did you get those printouts from?
If you mean, where can you get the pdf yourself - there is a link in the description. I'll post it here too: www.drivethrurpg.com/product/446898/Print--Paste-Textures-Basic-Ruins&affiliate_id=8343
If you mean, where did I get them from? ...then, I've drawn them all from scratch (mostly in photoshop). It's a rather lengthy process - but I think it's worth it in the end :D
Where do you get the sheets from?
There is a link in the description.
Is it needed to reinforce the joints? Like with for example tooth picks?
Also! Doors!
They seem fine just hot-glued together (they were used in a game on Saturday evening and I didn't have any breakages :) ).
And (removable) doors are coming in the next episode :D
Is there a video for those trees in the background?
They're just a larger version of the bushes that I made here: czcams.com/video/m72JQ5JZTKk/video.html
(though I did use the decorative edge scissors from the 'tiny terrain' to cut out the various size 'circles' from the leaf pattern).
Hope that helps!
@@CrookedStaffTerrain Great .Thanks! It looks like you kust made the treee layers a bit more cone like instead of flat?
@@Centinull Sorry I forgot to mention that - but yes - I laid them on an old mouse-mat, and rolled a large marble on the inside to give each layer a slight domed shape. Basically something similar to this: czcams.com/video/GH_zHPeZgeQ/video.html
Gah this is great
So a little random question, but where can I find a build for those trees in the end shots?
They're just scaled up versions of the little bushes I made here: czcams.com/video/m72JQ5JZTKk/video.htmlsi=qJuFxzRPd_XE5ZIB&t=205
The only things I did differently was use decorative edge scissors to cut out the circles, and I gave them a bit of a domed shape by rolling a large marble around inside (to get a similar effect to the tops of the mushrooms in the same video I mentioned above - if that makes sense :) ).
@@CrookedStaffTerrain brilliant thanks so much. What would be a good height to make the trees?
@@SelwynOrren It's not a great pic - but you can see the rough sizes I used here: imgur.com/AyaRc8V
(hope that helps)
@@CrookedStaffTerrain Ohhh its absolutely perfect Kris, thank you so much
Hi there how do I get your pdf file ?
There is a link in the description. I'll post it here too:

August? AUGUST!? What the hell are we supposed to do in the mean time!? 🤦♂😈
Perhaps go to that magical, mystical place that folks call...
...outside. (I tried it once - the graphics were great, but the gameplay left a lot to be desired :) ).
Seriously though, hope you enjoyed the vid! :)
@@CrookedStaffTerrain Outside? Kris, you know how mahy strange people are lurking outside?
Love the videos. Thanks!
@@CrookedStaffTerrain I loled so hard at that reply
Slow clap.
epic awesome!!!
