    Great information 👍on my channel I'm building a home theatre. Mostly using equipment I find at the dump. I recently found some beautiful red leather manual home theatre recliners. Now I'm thinking of turning 10 of them into electric models using the endless electric powered recliners I also see people throwing away. You've given me some valuable information to help me start. Thanks man!

    Im converting a power lift chair that actually has a square tube already thru the middle. Like you see on manual chairs minus the handle. After removing the motor, remote, and etc . I assume if i get a hhandle that mounts directly to the square id just cut a hole thru the material and bolt it on the square tube. Do any adjustments need to be made to any of the springs? Remove, add, or modify? This chair actually help assist with standing upright.

    • @the323vlog4
      @the323vlog4  Před 2 lety

      Unfortunately it’s hard to tell without seeing the exact mechanism, but the short answer is yes. You will more than likely have to modify where the springs are attached or add some altogether

    • @the323vlog4
      @the323vlog4  Před 2 lety

      They usually have the attachment points on the mechs whether it’s power or Manual though. The springs usually attach to little 3/4” metal attachments on the mechanism or there may be a whole in the mechanism that it hooks in to

    • @the323vlog4
      @the323vlog4  Před 2 lety

      The short answer is it is very difficult to convert one. It would be better to just buy a whole new manual reclining mechanism and even then it’s expensive and difficult. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. You CAN remove bolts to let down the footrest if it is stuck open. Or check with the store for the necessary electrical parts and they may be able to get those to you

      I would recommend reaching out to the lazyboy store where it was purchased or the lazyboy customer service team. They should be able to give you the exact model needed for your unit.
