Thank you!
Where do you buy parts to convert to power recliner?
eBay, recliner-handles.com
I have a kid with a condition that causes her to get sick fairly often. We have almost this exact recliner. She vomited in it this weekend. Do you have any recommendations on how best to get it clean? We steam cleaned it to start with, but I feel like we aren't getting all the way down into it. Thanks!
That’s the route I would have gone. The foam may need to come out and be steam cleaned as well
Thanks a lot for putting this up. My spring mechanism came out and I couldn’t figure out how to put that back in. It was really helpful. Cheers !
My recliner mechanism works but wont lock
Glad it helped
Video on putting springs back in place after repairing front wood frame on a recliner
🙌
Is there a way to tighten the back reclining mechanism? I have a Cheers brand manual glider recliner loveseat that won't stay reclined. The foot rest will stay up but the back constantly comes back into the sitting position from reclining because its so loose. I love the recliner but that part is so annoying. Constantly fight it and pushing back against the back of the chair to stay in the reclining position.
Most of them don’t have any adjustments. You can tighten the KD brackets. You might look into replacing the springs with ones with a different tension
@@the323vlog4 it doesn't have springs for the back of the chair, just the footrest so I'm not sure if a whole different mechanism will fix it. I wish they had springs in the rear of the chair for the back rest. Any ideas? I love the chair but this is irritating. I have to climb clear up on the back of the chair once I get it reclined to try to keep it in place but if I breath the chair goes back to the sitting position.
I have an Ashely manual recliner, model 7528, that will not stay in the upright position. I will be setting in it and all of a sudden it goes into the reclining position. To get it back to the upright position I flip the recliner on it's side push the mechanism into the upright position. Last night it even went into the reclining position with no one setting in it. Do you have any idea how to fix it?
Sounds like a tension issue. Maybe the spring is too much tension not allowing It to lock in place correctly. I’d also check to make sure the footrest isn’t interfering with the arm frames
@@the323vlog4 Is there anyway to adjust the tension? I ended up putting a couple of nylon wire ties around the frame to hold it place.
I have a nicoletti set of couches and 2 of the arm frames have lost all the fluff in them. How do I fix as easily as possible
It’s hard to tell without looking at them. I always start with inspecting. I open up the dust cover of necessary and see if the arm is accessible. Sometimes there is zipper access and other times there is not
I need ur instagram i want to show you my problem please
I squirted vinegar rather then steam and it worked super easy And your vid is too darn fast. Why in the world would you do that? No way am I liking or subscribing
I have slower more in depth ones
Thank you, good sir 🎉
Very welcome
All three of my mason theatre recliners work, but the usb ports don't work anymore. Can you instruct me how to fix it? Thank you.
I would replace the whole port
Hey there. We have some older louvered bifold doors with a lot of latex paint that’s hard to sand off because of the louvers. Would soda blasting be good and what grit?
I don’t hardly use mine for latex paint removal. Unless it’s in terrible shape(the paint) I don’t think it would come off very easily
¿Will the soda blaster remove paint from a wood service?
I wouldn’t expect So. It doesn’t work well on paints
@the323vlog4 thank you
Found this on the web... Yes, soda blasting can remove paint from many surfaces, including cars, brick, and wood. Soda blasting is a non-abrasive, environmentally friendly method that uses compressed air to shoot sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) at the surface being cleaned. When the baking soda particles hit the paint, they explode and disrupt the surface without damaging the underlying material. Soda blasting can also remove other coatings, dirt, grease, and stains.

Thank YOU so much for sharing your knowledge!! I hope you can help me out here, i have a simple recliner that worked perfect until it didnt some day. When i push the up or down button on the switch the motor works very slowly like in little steps of 1 cm each time then it stops for 3 seconds and another cm. What could it be? When i push the switch, the green light on the power supply box fades to weak but does not go out entirely. Bad power supply? Thanks in advance.. Best regards
I’d start by making sure no wiring was damaged, then trouble shoot the switch, transformer and finally the motor.
Great video! How does the price of the soda medium compare to sanding discs, etc.? Do you find it’s a big time saver but more expensive to operate?
It costs a little more to operate for sure but saves so much time comparatively . My labor is much more expensive than the cost of goods don’t makes sense
Yeah I’m definitely doing something wrong. I’m burning through soda media and getting no where.
You may have a finish that is still very resilient. It work a lot better on worn out antique finishes
Enjoyed the video, I have a flexsteel power recliner that has a broken frame part in the recliner mechanism. Trying to figure out what to do with it and found your video. Do you know if there is a resource for ordering those individual frame components? Worse case I may dismantle and attach a piece of metal bad reconnecting the two broken sides. Thanks for the video
I have only seen them sold as full mechanisms by vendors. That being said, eBay would be the best resource to find them being parted out.
My recliner power works but the problem is that it won’t stay closed; as soon as I release the close button, or just stand up after it’s closed, it reclines on its own. Any suggestions other than replacing the switch?
Sounds like something may be hooked up incorrectly, Like it’s getting constant power
I was going to get this to clean stovetop grates. You think it’ll work on burnt on grease in tough corners?
Good question, I have no idea! If it were me, I’d spray it with degreaser and then blast it
Your concept looks great and thank you for that. Can you please tell me if that would be the case for my 1986 MBZ 300sdl front seat. The recliner rattles and does not go backwards when I push the button. Please help me!
Not quite sure. I’d have to evaluate it
What are you pushing it with? What compressor?
I use a 80 gallon ingersol rand
Does it need an air dryer?
Thank you ❤❤ great job
Thanks!
Meaning to ask how long does a 50 pound bag of soda last you trying to budget how many projects I can do with one bag thanks in advance
I’d say around an hour or so of blast time
Finally pulled mine out of the box and put it together so excited to use it for intricate design on the coffee table legs that cannot be sanded
Hope it goes well!
Hollo my question is what is the voltage on the power supply.. i got some of a garage sale with no power supply...thank you.
I usually just buy a generic one on Amazon and they work fine
What brand of chair is this ? It looks nice ! Can this be done with La Z Boy ?
I would imagine so, those are well Designed. I can’t remember on This one. Probably rooms to go or Ashley’s
How do I get the bracket replaced if the locking piece has broken?

You could check Out our video on how to straighten a mechanism or mechanism replacement
My Okin Deltadrive lift recliner lifts fine, seats fine, legrest extends, but back does not recline. In my research, I'm thinking a broken plastic spindle nut for the actuator. Prices have ranged online from $1 USD to $40 USD for a plastic nut, and no metal ones available (like there are for the forkend that my brother replaced). I found confusing printed instructions, but no videos on how to replace the nut. Right now, I just sit in it upright with my legs extended (not the best nap position...;-)) Anybody know of any videos on "non-reclining" recliners?
Wiooow
What 60gal were you going to get, there are a few of that size? Please add a link if it's no trouble =) I'm saving to buy! I also would like to buy from tractor supply.
I got the Ingersol Rand. www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/ingersoll-rand-5-hp-single-stage-twin-cylinder-pro-air-compressor-60-gal
Hi Boone, I’m writing from Australia and needing to find all similar products but from Aussie suppliers … so the information is brilliant, I do have a kinda odd question, how long do you find a 25 kilo bag of soda lasts, as in how many projects approx. Thank you - you are v inspiring
My 50 lb bags usually last around 60-90 minutes of continuous spraying.
@@the323vlog4 thank you, makes it quite an expensive way to remove old paint at $100 per bag …. maybe should just use for difficult to reach areas
My power to the head rest works but the legs part
Could be the switch, loose/damaged wiring or possibly the motor
Great video! Have you used the blendall sticks and if so, do you have any comparison thoughts?
Yes, I love using blendal sticks. They’re very convenient for filling gouges, scratches, Etc.
Hi 👋 can you cover a video on fixing Push-Back Recliner.!!??? Please mine is big leather high back full size recliner but it won’t stay back in the farthest reclining position!!? Thank you
What brand is it?
Thank you so much for sharing this video. I successfully disassembled it 🙏
Glad it helped!
What makes them ping when rocking? How to make recliner silent when getting up from it. The arm rests seem to creak like they are loose. Great vid, but turn off the music...
Sounds like a bent mechanism causing it to go itself when rocking . I’d flip it over and inspect. Arms should be able to be tightened
Hi my recliner swivels but it is hitting something that stoped it from rocking. If I lean in the chair one way or the other it starts rocking again. It seems to be running on something just as I start to rock back. Can you suggest anything that could remedy this problem?
Hard to tell without looking at its 9/10 times it’s bent and hitting itself . I like to flip them over and rock them to see if I can identify the issue
Good video. I have almost the exact same chair, but in a love seat duo recliner setup. glad I found this video. thanks!!
Glad it helped!
Where did u get the cored from and what do u call it
You can find it in my video description. There is a link to it
My electric recliner has dropped on one side by about 1 1/2 inch - appears to be the framing has come apart and I cannot figure out a way to get to the wood without taking the whole chair apart - any ideas ?? thanks
Yes, you have to take the whole Chair apart. Haha. Unfortunately, there is no easy way about it. Remove the mechanism and staples and fabric and expose the woods to replace/repair it
Looks just like my past Lane big man's chair. I still have a second.
The reason I'm here is because I've just bought a wooden sailing dinghy and the idea of sanding the entire boat terrifies me. Why sandblasting isn't adopted in boat restoration amazes me. What is it like removing paint?
Haven’t tried it much. I don’t think it would work very well to be honest
Have you seen those new laser finish removal guns yet?! Now that would be a time saver!
@@the323vlog4 it looked like it removed the varnish ok. What's easier to remove, paint or varnish?
@@the323vlog4 yes I've seen the laser. I'm not sure if it's wise to use on wood though.
@@the323vlog4 I'm in Australia and it's 11:25am. It must be around 3am in the US. Insomnia?
What's the finish like? Eg. Is it smooth, pitted etc...
In my experience, if the finish is worn out and comes off semi easily, the soda media won’t damage the wood at all. Depends on substrate as well. But if you try to blast a more stubborn finish like paint and or gloss coats, you’re going g to destroy the wood before it takes the finish off. It does really well for me on older pieces with tired finishes
You are gae! 😂
i have a 80> <120 years old german piano, and it's ugly from outside, thank you
Glad it helped!
Brilliant work fabricating the drive tube. I can't find that part. Seriously, I will buy 1 off you if you are inspired to make another!
I would, but I’d need the corresponding parts so I know where to make and drill The holes for motor and mechanism mounting. I bet a local metalworker could make one up fairly easily
