As a "teaching video" I wouldn't suggest using a drill to set the screws. Especially if it's going into plastic. Could have used the clutch setting. Otherwise it was a nice video! Thanks for sharing! On the right door, I had a customer ask about installing one of these lower on the door so if someone was to attempt to kick the door something would be lower to help hold the door. If reinforced, I think it would make it take longer to kick in.
You are right!! I only used a company Milwaukee impact nowadays. That’s all I had at the time and it was years ago. I made this video for our techs as a quick refresher of the tools to use. Not for the general public. Lol. Thanks for the comment. I can’t stand stripped screws. Pet peeve
Appreciate the video but I would suggest adding an actual strike plate to the original deadbolt first and then to the one sided deadbolt. Those 1/2” screws into the fascia is not going to stop someone from kicking the door in. Sadly, almost every home shares this same issue and that door jam isn’t going to stop forced entry. I hope you added that off camera for the safety of the homeowner.😅
True. This was just a tutorial on how to drill the holes. For technicians. For homeowners the video would be different. Also this is part of a property code not for security purposes.
How can I take one out? It’s a really old retro building from the 60s. I live on the beach because of the humidity and rain I started having problems with the door. Making it hard to close and open eventually causing the deadbolt to deteriorate. When I try to unlock the door goes around without unlocking. So I opened it to try to change it but I can’t figure it out. Any help would be super appreciated. Thanks
Tells us to drill hole in door straight while driliing it at an downward angle
this door is just foam inside. Best phrase ever and it made my day in 2020
I had a boss, who if you’d done that to a chisel, would have lost it completely😂

That was a good video, thanks!
He drilled crooked, and no instructions for solid doors 🙃

Foam door protected by a plastic lock. Nice!
the lock isnt plastic, just that white peace
Like a boss.
More like an apprentice..
Why don't you use a forstner bit instead of a paddle bit?
Should’ve got a flex volt drill, that things badass
This video was made a longggg time ago before all the cool new tools that are out now
They make a center punch tool for that.....
Wayne Winton they do but I do it my way!
What do you do when the inside of the door is made of insulation and the screws won't latch into anything
Buy a better door.
Use some Durabond 90 or Fix it all.
Did you make that metal template for the areas to drill?
No it is made by hpc I believe

Did you figure it out? We have the same issue!
Adjust the door
Why would you use that kind of deadbolt when someone can still break into your home when you are away?
Every sentence is a question
The debris does not, and never will affect the operation. Has never been an issue.
+neosmith80 this is a demo video to show how to drill the holes. I normally wouldn't be as distracted. This is supposed to be a helpful video. :)
Crap door
the old Jeffrey Dahlmer door locks trick...
rootvalley what???? Lol
So you didn’t finish the other side lmao 🤣
This is a ONE SIDED deadbolt. Required in some states on rental properties.
I don’t have that giant twist bit
Go buy one?
