  • Hey guys! I'm sharing with you how easy it is to install a pull out trash can under my kitchen cabinet! I am adding both a pull out garbage can and a recycle bin under my cabinet and this adds so much extra functionality to my kitchen!
    I'm giving you step by step instructions for installing this pullout waste bin and a recycle bin as well. I did this all by MYSELF and is a very simple DIY project. I always wanted my trash to be hidden and now I was able to achieve it in less than 45 minutes! What a great easy trash upgrade! I hope I motivated and inspired you in this easy do it yourself home improvement project.

    I'm doing a complete kitchen remodel and I am planning on installing two double ones. 1 for trash. 1 for recyclables. 1 for plastic bottles, and 1 for cans. I'm huge on recycling. I taught my kids the importance and now it will be easier to keep things separated. I have a small kitchen and keeping cans out of the way is a genius idea! I can't wait to see these installed in my new kitchen! ❤🤗❤️

    I don't have the cabinet space for this but I'm thinking that I can install this in my pantry, which is being repurposed into a utility/cleaning supply closet. I may end up DIY'ing a wooden platform first, so I don't drill this system down into the sub-flooring. Thanks for the inspiration!

    I was hoping to build something like this for under my sink, but there’s no cabinet floor to drill into, and I could only drill drawer slides into one side of the can. Anyone have any ideas?

  • @treeofeternallifearvoredav1227

    does it have lid?

    • @angelgrace2
      @angelgrace2  Před 4 lety

      No lid. The door keeps smells isolated.

  • @SparklyPotatoes

    This might be a silly question: does this require a drill or can I just use a screwdriver and some upper body strength? 🤗

    • @PhilipSweany
      @PhilipSweany Před 4 lety +1

      Upper body strength is fine. Do realize, to use your shoulder strength, you need to be able to put your shoulder as close to over the screw placment as you can. Which is hard in a cabinet. Actually, the same applies to using a powered screwdriver. Pushing straight down is more powerful than way off to a side.

    it doesn t smell without a lid?

    • @angelgrace2
      @angelgrace2  Před 3 lety +1

      As long as you keep your trash can clean (meaning wiping it down every so often), no. We don't have that issue.
      Other hacks you could incorporate, is dryer sheets at the bottom of your trash can, scented trash bags, or an odor eliminator of some sort. Still love having it hidden in the cabinets, wouldn't trade for the world.

    How about the smell? Doesn't it make your cabinet stink?

    • @angelgrace2
      @angelgrace2  Před 3 lety

      No not really. I use some type of scent refresher (whether in the trash can, or bag) and I deep clean the trash can every so often as you would a normal trash can. Still love it hidden and tucked away, wouldn't trade it!

      @@angelgrace2 Thanks for your comment :). I was thinking as I live alone so I create less trash and If I have bones/meat waste then it just stays there for 1 week before my trashcan is full. That's why I was asking about the smell. :)

    • @angelgrace2
      @angelgrace2  Před 3 lety +1

      @@lynchscouter Gotcha. See we don't put food in it...We keep food slopings in the fridge (we live by the woods and have horrible ants plus I'm from the country so that why we keep slops in the fridge) and throw out when the trash comes for pick up. So yeah, it may but you could try the odor eliminators to help. Totally up to you.
