This is 100% his belief. Russia is a conservative state and aims to preserve traditional values, in avoidance of the myriad of problems the west has created for itself with the LGBTQ movement.
Being gay is not illegal in Russia, it is LGBT propaganda that is illegal, as sexuality and promiscuity is something that shouldn't be propagated in society (straight or gay). Somebody's sexuality should rarely be made known to anybody else but themselves, and it's weird for one's sole identity to be their sexuality.
I have never disclosed my sexuality to anybody, and I do not behave promiscuously in public with my girlfriend. Nobody knows I'm heterosexual, and this should be the same for homosexuals. My sexuality is something I never give much thought to, yet many people pride themselves on being gay and disclosing this in public through pride events etc.
Russia's conservatism aligns with its orthodox and Muslim values, so propagation of casual sexuality in general is condemned. For example, heterosexual pride events would also be illegal - the difference being, heterosexuals are participating in no such events anyway.
Most people in Russia adhere to this manta - "I accept your homosexuality as an individual, but I do not need to celebrate your homosexuality"
This is not bigoted, this is just a conservative person's values and they should be respected in the way homosexuals demand they be respected also.
Lastly, the reason gay marriage is condemned in Russia is because marriage is a union between yourself and God. Russian Orthodoxy and also Islamic scripture depicts this union as being between man and woman. Their entire faith is built on these values.
You can be in a relationship, but why would you want to be joined in union by a religious institute that doesn't believe in what you represent anyway? This is why it's illogical.
In the west, they're slowly eradicating these values by making exceptions - but this sets a dangerous precedent, as it essentially undermines the liturgy and means any aspect of it can be challenged and changed. Slowly, the church and it's core values will be eradicated, and then nobody benefits as the church has no core believe system or values remaining

I think he acknowledges that maybe *some* of the Russian people have a problem with homosexuality, but the point he's trying to get at is that as far as the law is concerned, there is no discrimination or persecution of LGBTQ+ people. While homophobia may exist in more substantial qualities in his people, he is saying that it shouldn't be there, and that they should really follow the same idea of not discriminating. With as much as he can do, that is, enforce laws, he has done as much as he can. The only thing left to do is for the people to eventually learn and come to accept LQBTQ+ people as he does.

And also Russians are very conservative people, so talking about sex in front of kids (not only about homosexuality) is considered strange. Russians are very introverted people (that is also why the don't smile often to strangers), so they think some things should not be talked about in public. This is just a cultural difference. But there are many gay clubs etc. in Russia and no one cares about that. The only rule is to keep it private. And I know many homosexuals, who agree with that. There was one lesbian sportswoman (I can't remember her nationality, probably British), who visited Russia and when Western journalists kept asking her over and over, what it was like visiting Russia as a lesbian, she just said: "You know what, nobody in Russia has ever asked me about this, about my sexual orientation. Listen to the language 'do they want to live a normal natural marriage'. So much bs here, I can still smell it. In Russia 'everyone is equal'. Right, so if you want kids left alone to figure out who they are, and your an 'equal' society. Straight propaganda to minors should also be banned, until they 'figure out who they are'. This guy answered every question criticising Russia with the same basic method. He deflects to the country of wherever the interviewer is from and pulls a usually ancient law, and more or claims they only use it now, because they got the idea from there, but they didn't start it.

In America if u want to kick som1 from work, just film him saying bad thgs bout LGBT. U call this freedom?

    • @Marco_Fabian37
      @Marco_Fabian37 Před 2 lety

@@hamoudeallam645 yes that is freedom! You have the freedom to say whatever you want and people have the freedom to respond to your hateful opinions. Everyone has freedom! Being hateful is not a freedom you get to have about someone else’s life. I don’t know where you’re from but here in America, gay people are protected because they suffer so much hate and discrimination in a country that, supposedly, prides itself on being “free.” If you’re a real man and are comfortable in your own manhood and sexuality there’s no reason to be bothered by gay people. On the other hand, if it bothers you so much maybe it’s time to be honest with yourself and figure out why? Maybe you’re gay and ignore it so much and become hateful and violent.
