Never realized how much I needed increased FoV in KH1 until now. Makes it look more consistent with the other installments.
I think it makes KH1 stand out a bit more making the experience a tad more intimate, but honestly having the KH2 FOV is pretty experience changing and really would have been a nice official option to add within the HD Remix version

Little tidbit about Roxas Skip- you miss out on the Champion's Belt or the other equiv item you get for losing to Setzer, as well as any extra loose EXP and Munny. So while it's faster to skip, it can be beneficial to run though it.
Yeah, not to mention a few high potions. They're not that important, but if you're playing Critical, it might be a good idea to grab them. You also lose out on 2 AP from the second day. "By skipping, you get into the gameplay, but lose the goodies." That's what the guy said on his video.
It would be nice if the modder could maybe throw these items into the inventory if you choose to skip Roxas' intro, along with the munny and AP from doing the job stuff.
@@Hugsloth Yeah, but the items/equipment isn't really too important, you'd still have the Land of Dragons stuff and Beast Castle stuff. Money isn't really a problem either. The AP isn't really important, you can always craft some and world's have quite a few spread around. Only thing I want is a few potions and a High Potion/A couple of them. Critical is really hard without a way to heal and cure isn't the answer.
Another little tidbit about the Roxas skip: if you use the dual-audio .EXE file without applying the patch, then if you choose to skip Roxas's story then it won't actually be skipped but it will bug the hell out of itself, making it unbeatable.
@@OhKayEl That is just generally a bad idea. So don't do Dual Audio without patching.
This really makes the games a really smooth experience.

I just always had a save file for KH2 for right after I collect 2000 munny with Roxas. That was always the sweet spot for me to start a new game.
Why have I never thought of this?
Collecting all the Munny for the extra AP really is the only part that's a real drag, honestly.
I would just love to point out that these Kingdom Hearts modders are mad geniuses. They have gone up and beyond.
12:27 this is definitely the feature I ever seen, the fact that the party change into their Halloween & Christmas outfits is really cool, I always wanted the ability to change into different skins in Kingdom Hearts, I wonder if they add that feature in Kingdom Hearts IV.

Quick thing to note skipping roxas's segment also means you lose any of the goodies you would usuallly get playing it.

Honestly I feel the zoomed in camera is very important to the look and feel of KH1. However, I would love to see that change implemented in BBS for sure, I'm pretty sure the camera in that game was zoomed in to save on resources, or due to the PSP's smaller display, and it simply doesn't work very well on a full HD PC monitor.
Preference aside, the correct translation (more like transliteration) of "ars arcanum" is "last arcanum" in japanese is the latter (in English), but written with katakana, of course: ラストアルカナム or Rasuto Arukanamu. So, basically, they were fixing that mistranslation in the remasters :)
Thanks for making these mod videos and always keeping up to date with what's currently going on. Helps out a ton, especially for me who doesn't always look up the latest mods for KH.
2:21 That costume looks pretty cool. I think it's a reference to Sora's original concept design, where he had a lion tail and a little crown on his head.😉

The FOV for KH1 is a big deal for me. The only way it could be better is if they allowed an option for the game to automatically shift between the 2 FOVs when in or out of combat.

OMG, enhanced FOV feels like a dream for KH1 and BBS. It's one of my favourite things that KH2 introduced. Just wow
I'd like you to check the hd textures mod for KH1 and BBs. Once you see the improvements, you cannot go back and wonder why Square had never done it in the first place. It mostly concerns the UI.
Yeah this is great and makes my life with kh more manageable. On a side note just because you put the song from khx now I'm wondering if they are gonna remade the game for consoles +.+
11:13 Given the PS2 versions of KH1/KH2 had european dubs too (German/French/Spanish), i wish there was an option for those languages too, but hey the mod is great as it is already!

I so glad that the KH2 mod lets you reorganize your magic. That's something that KH has needed for a LONG time. I reallt wish that KH1 had that as well becuase I think that game needs it way more.
If only they could make a multi-language on KH games, where like KH original characters speaks Japanese and Disney characters speaks in English, that'd be awesome for a mod!
It might be worth noting that "Ars Arcanum" and "Sonic Blade" are corrections, not changes - the Japanese names were "Last Arcanum" and "Sonic Rave" in both versions.
"Ragnarok" to "Infinity", however, is quite bizarre - the Japanese text in both spells out "Ragnarok".

@@FaliusAren The comment is so old I don't recall the context exactly, but I think I was commenting on the changes were actually corrections - "Ars Arcanum" wasn't the name of the skill to begin with, it's a translator's alteration, and the skill was always called "Last Arcanum" in the original text.
Well now I have a reason to finally get KH1 and 2 on PC. Can't wait for a playthrough of KH1 with these improvements!

My favorite part about the ability to rename finish commands in BBS is that there is no filter, so you're free to use whatever obscenities you wish.
Really nice of having the dual-audio available from a mod. Now it seems like having bought that Japanese edition of 1.5+2.5 was a waste, haha.
Crazy how good KH2 still looks graphically. PS2 games were ahead of their time

My only problem with skipping the roxas portion is you miss the twilight thorn fight and the axel fight where you have both keyblade. I love those 2 fights and is the only thing that would keep me from skipping it lol

I think that all this information is very interesting and these updates are very good and really amazing.
man these fixes took me about 30 minutes to install but another hours to correct them like infinite load screen the game did not launch after patched etc. well at least i got it working now(hope those infinite load screen did not make its way back during the later stage of the game)
All it needs is the ability to choose which enemy skins you want and it's perfect!

And any improvements to bosses, like Lythos the Rock Titan in the Hades Cup being MUCH huger, having 4500 HP, 100 Strength, Defense, & MP Recovery and ×0.25 Fire, Blizzard, Thunder, Stun, and Other damage intake and always follow after Sora when out of range before attacking, especially before the first time Lythos is knocked down onto his titanic rear?

I just wish they included a FoV toggle for BbS as well. And I wish dual-audio meant the Japanese openings were included. But overall, what a great mod. KH2 never getting a soft reset in future ports was a crime.
I wish they would add these mods to the PS4 version of the KH’s games It be nice to be able to get some of the mods that they have on the pc Versions they do have some cool ones for the PC I just don’t have access to one right now where I’m at even if they did introduce them to the council they could add him as DLC’s For a bunch of the different mods like the alt costumes

Wow. Always admire quality of life enchantments. Maybe if there’s ever PS5/Series X versions. But I doubt we get any of these changes. :p I’m sure this is something every single fan would be happy to see.
I've wanted the ability to change button commands for years. I love playing kh but all the buttons are killing me being reversed from every other game lol. X should be jump and square should be attack.
I feel like Guard and Dodge Doll shouldn't be abilities that cost AP, they should be natural abilities Sora and everyone else should have.
one thing I'd lose my mind over is if they gave us a 21:9 patch. I use an ultrawide monitor and I'd love to be able to have KH2 with proper ultrawide support

I hope they add a mod for kh1 and 2 so that you can change the music. Ff10 and xenoblade 1 added that feature to their remastered versions. So it would be nice to have that option for this one

Prolly biggest "issue" I have is autosave, imo KH never needed it. But if the options are togglable then no issue whatsoever.

Auto Save has saved my ass when I forget to save, so I'm glad it's there
It only auto saves 1 out of the 99 save files
the autosave is only on slot 99 and it's toggleable in kh2 and bbs

Honestly, so many of these old JRPGs force you to get to a save point before saving and I always thought that was kinda dumb and annoying. Found myself too many times annoyed at the thought of being forced to keep on playing whenever I just wanna quit just because the game won't allow me to save the game.
This sounds awesome. Just wish it added a few more things like airborne item casts (at least for KH2), potentially an Item Bracer ability, and on 1 and 2 it would be nice to have KH3's more specific party member directions. Particularly to encourage Donald to only heal you the player.

In pretty much any other game I'd want the FOV mod but KH1 is so nestled in the nostalgia compartment of my brain I don't think I'd like it
I'm not sure if I could even explain it logically. Just one of those things where being up close and personal with the gang, with combat in general is something I quite like about KH1.
No doubt it looks more in line with the rest and I could imagine it playing nicely too

Just need to wait for Kingdom Hearts to come to Steam and on sale and I will download this. No way I will touch Epic Game Store for a few games (KH series, THPS 1+2 and Sonic Colors Ultimate).
I tend to prefer 30 fps for cutscenes. You do get used to 60 fps after a while, but it gives me soap opera/dynamic motion vibes and it makes my stomach hurt XD 30 fps is closer to the standard 24 fps of movie and tv so thats why I like it.
I have never disagreed more. 60fps cutscenes in KH look absolutely gorgeous
@@Suneru they were unwatchable for me when I first saw them at 60, haha. I got used to them eventually but given the choice, I'm going 30. The graphics are the same either way, it just changes the smoothness of the animation, and it just doesn't feel right to me in a cutscene scenario, but more power to you if you think 60 looks better, its totally preference. Gameplay 60 works way better cause you are actively controlling Sora, which lowers the soap opera effect for me, but just watching something at 60 makes my spine tingle 🤣
I'd rather have cutscenes locked at my refresh rate(280hz)
Honestly, I've never been able to tell the difference. Put a 30fps cutscene next to a 60fps cutscene, and I wouldn't be able to tell you which is which. I think my eyes are just broken.
60 fps is nice for smooth gameplay but absolutely kills any sort of cinematic quality, cutscenes should be lower framerate
what about the aspect ratio problem? 16:9 has a pillarbox makes the screen small not widescreen

I have old 2FM translation patch (for PS2) that introduced dual audio - unfortunately it only works in PCSX2 because the patch creates an invalid ISO that can't be burnt to a real DVD. For completeness' sake, I wish somebody would fix that. It's not the size being too big that's the problem - it could fit on a dual layer DVD - but the ISO still thinks it's single-layer (like the original game).
9:30 Well, "Sonic Rave" IS the correct name ( ソニックレイヴ ) remember when Sora dashes with his blade in the move, the Triangle Command says "Rave"? , also with "Last Arcanum" (ラストアルカナム ).

@@TopazTK the KH games are not only translated, they are localised. Someone decided "Sonic Blade" would be a better name, perhaps due to the inappropriate connotations of the word "Rave" or whatever other considerations the localisation team maybe have had. However, none of these names needed translating in the first place, since they're already in English, so the names in KH1 and other games are simply incorrect relative to the original.
That said if you like them better feel free to install the mod. Just don't pretend like it's a fix.

is there anyway I can turn the 60 fps cutscenes off of all games and the chest thing off of kh1 just because I still want a more traditional experience but still want the certain tweaks that are good for making videos and stuff like that.

Probably gonna get this just because it's a really nice QoL mod, but I'd REALLY love to see an addition to play the original OST and original heartless skins for that true classic feel for KH1. Idk maybe it's just me but I'm alright with the new renditions of the scores but I'm definitely not a fan of the new heartless skins.
That would require porting over the original assets, which would be a massive workload and probably extremely illegal
Ok i looked at the GitHub out of curiosity and it turns out they're working on this very feature. That or they've written code that looks a lot like it lmao, im not so invested as to confirm

The retry is an absolute must have. The older games feel unplayable without it.
Whenever I try to run the game with the mods installed, I get stuck in an infinite loading screen before the main menu (right after selecting the game in the launcher). Anyone knows how to fix it?

Off the top of my head Jafar's "The world is mine to control" is missing as well as sephiroths reaction command sounds much worse than the og ps2.
i admittedly havent played kh2 in a bit so if these got fixed at one point then nvm but I dont recall them being fixed the last time i played.
It was discussed in the GitHub page for the mod; it's not something they have the ability to fix as of current, unfortunately.
Do u know how to fix the camera sensitivity because when I'm using my controller no matter how high or low I turn it the camera turns so freaking fast
need to add another shortcut menu (ie one on each shoulder)
