Good to see John Francome here. The great hurdler Sea Pigeon is one of my favourite horses. Whenever I see John Francome I'm reminded of the day Sea Pigeon won his second Champion Hurdle. Francome gave him an absolute peach of a ride that day. One of the best rides you'll ever see. And when John Francome got off him in the winners enclosure he said 'He's a Rolls Royce of a horse'.
I've never forgotten what he said about one of my favourite horses.

Great trainer (the Queen of Aintree), knew her horses.
I rode out for her during the winter of 1990/1991 (Operation Desert Storm was on in Kuwait), this was when Toby Tobias and Wonder Man where some of the stars, as well as Garrison Savannah who won the 1991 Cheltenham Gold Cup and finished 2nd in the Grand National the same year, her son Mark Pitman rode him.
Mrs Pitman had 4 runners in the National that year, the 3 others were Golden Freeze, Abba Lad (who had been one of my 3 horses to muck and tender, I left i February) as well asTeam Challenge I.
Even the future GN winner Royal Athlete was there.

2 absolute legends Jenny trained in an era when it was male dominated and beat them over and over again. Latterly paving the way for many future female trainers. And as for John he really was truly the greatest. His style of riding still outshines many of today's jockeys and no jockey ever presented a horse to a fence better than him.

Terrific this. A superb trainer. You can see and hear her attention to detail. Very important. She listens to jockeys. I know some trainers now take the easy option. Loved the story about her dad fantastic. Burrough hill lad along with desert orchid and carvills hill the three best staying chasers of the 1980s. Hard to split them at their very best. More of these shows please. Greetings from Ireland

The Jenny Pitman Show! What a star she is. Never stuck for any answers to a question or ten that you ask her. As knowledgeable as it’s possible to be. And there’s the finest horseman in the world with John Francome. Easily the best stylist and motivator of horses bar none. And Mick Fitzgerald managing to keep Jenny on a tight rein when she was losing her cool with him for not wanting to come down and school her horse! Another great jockey was Mick. But neither John nor Jenny mince their words so it’s a guarantee of a good interview. Great stuff 👏😋

I have hated jenny pitman since 1992, the favourite for the gold cup that year was a horse called Carvills hill, he liked to be in front , she had a horse in the race called golden freeze and she told the jockey to hound Carvills hill, so every time carvills hill went into the lead the jockey on golden freeze would ride the horse to get back in front. Golden freeze was pulled up after the first circuit because he was knackered, he never ran again.
It turned out that carvills hill had broken his back on the first circuit and still managed to finish the race, he never ran again.
Jenny Pitman destroyed two horses that day, she didn`t give a shit about the horses she trained.

I agree with you 100% i had an ante post bet that year on Carvills hill at 9/2 and he went off odds on i think. If i remember right Peter Scudamore was the jockey. I also remember this evil reptile blabbing on tv at the grand national when it was cancelled till the monday asking how the ira could do this to horses pmsl was a terrible acting performance, as like you i know the reptile didn't give a shit about the horses, alls the reptile loves is money and mockery evil reptile.
