L'ésprit de Montréal
I recognize most of the video, it is mostly taped in Moncton NB canada
I'm not being over dramatic at all when I say this but this video almost brought me to tears. You're always hearing these facts about people and their screens but to actually see these things in a music video just added so much more power to the realization of how we may be connected to the world through these things but at the same time they're cutting us off. I'm a teen; I see this stuff constantly but there was just something about your music video, maybe it was the killer tunes, but it was just so powerful. Thank you.
i also felt really moved by this video. we're so disconnected with one another as brothers and sisters and i'm glad that someone is using their music to speak out on this issue.
People aren't people anymore
A teen who uses a semicolon properly and the correct "you're". Well done - looks like not everyone types with three left hands.
its a hint of whats to come, these guys are clearly not the band that made this song. just look how weird they look with "their" instruments like they have never touched em prior to this vid... hilarious
Great tune and video! Heard it on 89x in Detroit, the Comeback City!
Ayyyye same here 89X rocks
love me some Mark and Chris in the morning!
[LYRICS]
Do you ever feel like
that something aint right?
There's a pit in your stomach
that tells you we should be so much better now
Do you ever feel you
live in a moral vacuum?
There's no right there's no wrong,
no black, no white
just grey, grey area.
We traded all our leadership for screens
We've traded all our hearts for circuitry
i want mine back
We won’t rest till
Everyone is digital
Everyone’s a telephone
But we'll live forever.
We can’t stop till
We're all running on lithium
Everyone is plugged in
And all our heads are buried
Do you take some issue with
What we teach our children
When our food is frozen
And we can't stand up
But we've all got Netflix
Does it ever phase you..
That somebody died for you
In 1942
So you could drink your latte and watch your flat screen
Oh we traded all our souls for faster speeds
We’ve idolized the worst that we can be
There's no danger in us blaming infancy
If we’re straddled on the choices and we vow, we never will repeat
OH OH OH
Chorus
But I can’t be the one who's casting stones
For I've mined for, and I've crafted my glass house
But I can be the one who says I was wrong now
I can be the one to fix the world if I can only fix myself.
Chorus
I will be the beacon of the failure I must not become
The sponsored ad of my refrain
that tells the world that I was here.
I really liked this song when I heard it on the radio, so I looked it up on here. When I watched the video, I was blown away. It's brilliant and I really wasn't expecting to see that it was shot in Moncton. Really should have more views, the song is amazing
Heard this on 100.3 the bear in Edmonton! Such a great song with an a powerful message.
MrJasian same!
I just heard this on the radio and loved it instantly. It’s awesome! And it’s a flash of reality, too. Everyone is on their devices nowadays. I use them, but seldom.
I miss when people were people
some of us still are, rock on brotha!!!
I miss ringing your buddy's doorbell instead of the obligatory "Hey, I'm here" text. Small talk with cashiers, Conversation without distraction, Food that was gone from existence the moment you ate it, bystanders that would actually help a person in trouble rather than opening their video cam app and posting the shit on world star. What I miss the most is having someone put actual effort into getting in touch with you. We've come a long way from the social creatures we used to be and it's fucking sad to be honest.
Seriously underrated oh my god dude this is great, keep up the good work
Awesome tune, excellent lyrics , great sound and meaning. New favorite tune
I'm from Moncton! This is badass! Heard it on the local rock station C103 but thought they might be American. Had a sum41 vibe. Saw this video and was blown away by seeing the locations but mainly the lyrics.
88.7 CIMX "89X, Windsor-Detroit's 'only' new rock alternative!" Don't get me wrong, America has talented artists, but Canada has some epic artists that need more American mainstream airtime!
Just found your beautiful band today - this song was added to playlist from the first chords - your sound is unique for me.
i just discovered this song recently and oh my goodness i think i'm in love with this band. It's so cool that you guys are local as well! Hello From Prince Edward Island!
Man... still very underrated. This video needs more views. I totally cannot wait for another full album! I also need to get a flip phone duck (seen at 1:48)!
Heard these guys on a local station the other day and was instantly into it. Also, east coast Canada? Fuck yeah.
I found this song via 89x in Detroit. God, I miss that radio station
you've got a powerful message there... now let's see what people do with it. I seriously hope this video gets seen millions of times
azure wizzard Commie.
your display picture of the hammer and sickle really offends me
well... one gets offended if one chose to get affected by others. Your comment doesn't affect me.
@@AZUREWZRD bahaha okay commie
I don't think anyone's gonna do anything
I rarely click on Instagram ads but found yours appear and had to see the full song
Heard this on a old radio or something yesterday at night when my Dad and friends were having a bonfire, I'm from New Brunswick, and I love this song. Great job my dudes.
Love these guys… just stumbled onto The Motorleague this winter thanks to the CZcams UpToEleven playlist… on my regular rotation now
From Halifax, Nova Scotia ! Great song !
Love this song so much.
Love this song....!
These guys were so cool! I am in the gang vocal recording for this song, and it was an incredible experience. Super cool to meet them all and learn so much.
I did not realise you guys were from moncton until I saw this video, this is great !
It was sick sharing the stage with these gentlemen! incredible people and musicians! hell of a show! cant wait to rock out with them again!
My god I needed this in my life right now... bravo gents!
Perfect sounds for the early 2000's.
I pray to god the air play lasts a longgg time on the radio for this song. Don, I don't know if you knew exactly how important this song would be when you were writing it but honestly you just gave a hugee voice for all of us who also see whats so terrifyingly wrong with modern society and culture, at least in north america. Never thought I'd get to hear and see something so goddamned punk rock played on national radio ever again outside of college radio. You've given me a restored sense of hope and I'm absolutely certain I'm not the only one. The people need to hear this, stuff like this. Music that gives a voice to those who see issue in these things and gives perspective and teaches those that don't. I grew up listening to Greg Graffin's lyrics for exactly the same reason, and lets be honest Bad Religion's close to retirement these days. Music is a more powerful medium for changing the world than anything else out there, stronger than social media posts that's for sure. Hell a good portion of the punk scene was at least able to shape the way fans thought and looked at the world. It's beyond refreshing to see someone with the balls to pick up the torch, we all need it. I hope this gets to the band and you guys read all of it but honestly keep up the amazing work. Hope to see you all in Toronto and until then you're getting blasted on the car radio anytime 97.7 airs the song.
Same my dude, heard it on the radio on my way to work and fell in love instantly
F@##ing amazing fellas. My favorite so far. You guys are killing it. You guys were great at the backlot bash BTW!
THIS is so true... Growing up in the 90's it is such a different world now. We used to write actual letters to our pen pals. When we bought a CD we knew we could keep it forever, it wouldn't be on some "cloud" that we could only access when we had wifi. If our computer died, we still had all our files in cd form or otherwise. Apple just wants to take your money, its all a scam. I just bought a new iPhone, and it doesn't even have a head phone jack in it. We have to stop our reliance on these things. They seem so easy, but in reality it will just screw us in the long run.
WOW your song has the basis that sounds like Bad Religion's "shattered faith' song (in a very good way). Music is truly a talent for you guys, please keep pushing and working ... YOU ARE TRULY AWESOME ! :)
Just heard it on the radio very catchy ...you guys list to rise against for sure ...good job.
WHY AM I ONLY HEARING THIS NOW???? Awesome tune with a great message and superb sound!!
Thanks for making this song guys, it's good.
Heard it on the radio, too. Glad I did.
Great job!!
When traveling I like to put this song on repeat, place phone in back pocket, then walk off the plane and through a crowded airport... Then look around in awe and dismay at the digitally hypnotized zombies.
Aside from that depressing narrative, this song flat out rocks! F*ckin’ love it. Keep up the stellar work fellas!!!
Great work!
amazing song guys, you deserve more attention. Loved it even more when i saw Canada on the drum, keep it up.
Awesome message and awesome music dudes!
About time! I've been texting in to radio stations to hear this lately.
texting? shame on you brotha. return to primitivism
You guys are great you should get more exposure. Keep writing songs with great messages like this one. Love you guys don't give up :)
this is an important message and I love seeing Moncton featured in your music video
You guys really get to the point !
The right, good and proper way !
Thanks for the great song and useful video !
I'm genuinely shocked a song this good actually came out of Moncton.
28 people watched this on their phones and got offended.
Ahhhhhh love this song so much... as I watch on my phone... Great video guys, great lyrics... I always wanted to put a Pokemon in middle of Niagara falls and see how many people walk blindly into the river...
As an early 20s permateen, I have to say, these stats are great. I mean, I wish people had better access to toilets, but guess how we all just found out that was a problem? Well, I guarantee you, whatever you used to learn about that stat, it had a screen. Screens and tech give us more knowledge. Yes, there is the dissemination of false information to worry about, and we should find a way to address that, like media classes in school to show kids how to tell reliable sources apart from unreliable ones. But the fact that we spend 9 hours a day consuming media? That's about as bad as the old concerns about excessive reading in the early days of the printing press. Times will continue to change, behaviours will change accordingly, and we need to not only accept that, but embrace it.
These guys deserve way more views!
Gents, this song is fucking amazing. No only does it sonically kick your ass, but the lyrics are damn clever. I'm a new fan.
This band is awesome and was super stoked to hear them getting played nationally. Heard this song on CJAY92 the other day, and I've been a big fan since I heard A Little Too Obvious a few years back. If you like this song your should check out their other tunes! Great to see a Canadian band getting recognition!
*4 years later its only gotten worse.*
I love this song! Hope so we will hear more from you! If you someday come to Finland I came for your gig
As i get older i think how music today is shit. Motorleague is an exception. Great music. Reminds me of music i listened to as a teen. Great message too. 5 stars
Amazing job guys
How am I just hearing these guys today?!
I love this tune guys!! You'll have to teach me the Acoustic version when you come back to SW Ontario!!💛

I just became addicted to this song.. irony is, I work with technology but I literally hate everything related to tehcnology, but for real, I hate what we have become. One of the most perfect and beautiful songs I have heard lately. This is so fucking awesome
Analogue or Death; now there is a catchy bumper sticker.
Thank you so true
It’s irony how the one shot at 0:57 shows downtown Moncton New Brunswick where I’m from. and bruh all the girls be on their phones like this around here 😂 it’s sad 😅
King's Quest II? Excellent taste. VI was the best, however.
Really great song
