Hello! I work for Delta as a flight attendant and in regards to the missing appetizer....pre-COVID, we did offer an appetizer and it was a caprese salad or a shrimp cocktail, so they might have been properly catered. Glad you enjoyed your trip on Delta!
Delta is hands down the best which is why I
Invest in the Delta Amex card. Cheers!
Congratulations delta flight attendant hiring process is harder than getting into Harvard by percentage of applicants
I was wondering what happened to the salad. I had more food with United to SDY
Delta is the best . On time not flashy but always good . Decently ordinary doesn’t exist anymore but that’s delta .
Since my flight on Delta's A330 in Economy Class from Amsterdam to New York, Delta is my absolute favorite among the US airlines. *Thank you* for this amazing trip report :)
Agree. and my a330 Dtw to Ams Goes 2-4-2 Seating which is so much better than 3-3-3 or 3-4-3
@kwanus anus I tried both. KLM on their B747 combi and Delta's A330-300... Delta's service was way better. Starting with their amenity kit for all passengers 😅
Just a question from someone who never took a long haul flight. Are the meals and the snacks from the galley free or you meed to pay for it? What’s included and whats not?
@@kasparasvisockas4289 Depends on the airline. For example Delta serves free food and drinks 🙌
Same! Flew from Amsterdam to Atlanta and was blow away by it. Delta have really upped their game lately.
I recently flew on the Air Canada 777 on a domestic flight and the 3-4-3 seat width was BRUTAL! Even a little worse than the 787 and 737 seat width. 398 seats in economy in the high density configuration...
This channel is one of my favourites for trip reports! Always excellent! Keep up the great work, guys.
Good review. I do like how you explain your review system is based on expectations so that there is a base on which you can compare eg Spirit vs Delta.
Your video also reminds me of how noisy the 777 is behind the engines as I have not travelled long haul in a Boeing behind the engines in a longtime.
I am subscribed to so many different flight channels but brutally honest is my favorite of all of them because it’s just such a different concept. After all, isn’t it about our expectations being met rather than having to rely on some reviewer‘s opinion? Once again, thank you David for doing brutally honest and I hope the virgin Australia review is also brutally honest! Safe travels❤️👍✈️
14:15 I can see my house! No way!! Haha, hope you enjoyed your stay in Sydney and I hope you do more flights here too. We’ve got some pretty random ones haha
Good catch
There are like 10.000 houses! Which one is it, mate?
i think it is one to the very bottom right
@@maximgastes159
That looks like a very amazing economy flight!
Used to fly Delta Airlines all the time to Europe, but a few years ago we stopped. I think it's time to resume our flights on Delta. Thank you for your stellar videos!
Glad you had a great flight to Sydney Australia David...and welcome back !! Great review as always mate and I again look forward to your next adventure !! Thanks again !!
I personally live in Sydney and these are the landmarks you have to visit when going to Sydney:
-Sydney Harbour Bridge
-Sydney Opera House
-Taranga Zoo
When a Sydney Resident can’t even spell its landmarks right 😂
I’m from Melbourne and I can spell it Taronga zoo-
I always enjoy his humble yet honest review. many thanks!
I did this flight (and its return) in Delta’s new premium select. Gotta say, DL rocks it so much better than AA & UA when it comes to their 777 service. And this is coming from an UA employee
Honestly this vid made me hungry 🤤🤤
i am not sure you anywhere close to a healthy diet. you might look into it.
Same that cheese ravioli looked yummy
Me too
LOL.Actually many people eat foods while watching cooking channels ,so...it's understandable ! Lol.😆💜🥁🎵🐉🎤🎶
@derdasHD1 😅😆💜🥁🎵🐉🎤🎶LOLLOLLOL.
I think the appetizer was absent due to the late departure time from LAX.
Only few weeks ago, I flew from Seoul to Seattle in DL Economy Class and our flight departure time was 6:45pm. We were offered a choice of two appetizers before the main meal delivery and my choice was a delicious antipasto salad which was served as a separate course after the Bellini aperitif service.
Additionally, my outbound KOREAN AIR flight from SFO to Seoul flown by the 777-300 was also a 3-3-3 configuration and with 34” leg room. I was stunned that even Economy Class passengers are provided a hot seaweed soup to complement the Korean Meal option. The hot soup accoutrement in Economy was so enjoyable with my bibimbap, that I was able to enjoy an additional serving of seaweed soup upon request.
I've flown this route several times over the last couple of years in Economy and Economy Plus and it's always a great experience. Delta Airlines has the best Trans-Pacific service of any American airline, in my opinion. The 777 is a fantastic airplane and since the interior upgrades the overall passenger experience is even better.
Thanks for this video - your honest & thorough review of this flight is appreciated.
I wish DL Flew to New Zealand looks like I'll definitely have to try them out via SYD someday. Liked
You're an incredibly charismatic flight reviewer. Thank you for sharing these amazing journeys.
He is really good !!👍💜🥁🎵🐉🎤🎶
Great report! Any question, are you travel all the time alone?
Great video as always 🤩
Omg! 13 seconds in and I’m so excited!!!
Love your BRUTAL reviews David, without doubt Delta offer the best long haul product from North America, rare to see 3-3-3 on the 777.
Premium economy features in an economy seat is pretty unique, although a small starter for the meal would have been a good touch.
I like how honest and respectful you are David, not like a certain German CZcamsr who makes similar videos, 99% are some type of drama!
Seems you just made a great advert for Delta and it didn't cost them a dime!
Josh?
@@unknownperson3691 yea josh kahill ugh
I loved delta. I took the same flight, but in Confort Plus and it was amazing!!!
Great video, my favorite US airline. I did a trip report on their Delta One class and loved it
does anyone know which company makes those seats? thanks
Man you've grown great to such an extent
LOVE IT AS USUAL!!!:P
I’m really surprised about the appetizer part. On my economy flight to Brussels with them last month, we had an appetizer option.
Thanks for this - I am flying this same flight in March and it was great to see you video!
Thank you for this wonderful video experience.
Hi can you please confirm if you flew basic economy or ecomony? Does basic economy have a seat in main cabin.
Great review! Nice to see Delta retaining a 3,3,3 configuration on their B777s
The service standard on Delta seems really good for such a long haul flight! :)
Great video! I love you’re brutally honest series keep em coming pls! Also as an american I know we’re known for having bad airlines but this flight makes me proud to know we have one of the best long haul Economy classes in the world!
Delta did an amazing job with their new international economy class! This is just my opinion but, I feel that Delta cares about its customers a lot more than the two other US major carriers United and American. It seems they always question what they can do to make their product better and it makes me proud that I'm loyal to such a great airline!
Yeah. Look at their short haul fleet, always investing in new cabins, IFE etc. Even the long haul fleets are mainly Airbus which beats the B787 3-3-3 config offered by united and AA as their A330’s have the 2-4-2 config which the Dreamliner should also. Delta is clearly the only carrier investing. As a Brit I’m less likely to fly them but it’s a no brainer what to choose.
Excelent review ! 👍🏻
Excellent video man
Honestly, a pre-landing candy/chocolate is so *easy* for the airlines to do but also such a nice touch!
Cant figure out how to book them on STR-ATL-LAX-SYD in one booking
@@nathandorado902 If I do that it will be one booking STR-ATL (including Random KLM/AirFrance legs) and one booking atl-syd
Wow! Delta really has something to be proud of. The 3-3-3 seating is totally excellent, Kudos to Delta for keeping with that configuration. I really liked the presentation of all the meal services. I recently looked at your Air Canada report, from Vienna to Toronto. Really looks like this is a lot better. I might also mention, that I thought both your reveiws were excellent! It would also be good to maybe hear more about the attitude of the crews and how you found their service in general. Cheers, Carl
Hmm..those meals - great video as always!
Dear David
Can you please tell me how you afford to travel in a flight every 3 or 4 days? The countries you visit, do you go there for work or as a tour. Please reply
Your faithfull,
From Charles.
thank you for the review
You should also try Korean Air's 777 economy too! They're also sticking with 3-3-3 layout! But there's some difference in IFE systems depending on variants.(200ER, 300 and early half -300ERs have old ones, and late half -300ERs have new IFEs)
How would the number of seats per row, which speaks on the width of the airplane, affect the leg room for each seat, which deals with the length of an airplane?
Enjoyed the flight.
Favorite parts:
* the spool up during take off
* all that food
* the view of Sydney when landing
* the touch down when landing
I'll be brutally honest. I thought the meals looked pathetic and they certainly were far from 'full meals'. It's almost at the stage where you have too take your own food with you not to starve. And that was a 15 hour flight.
Apart from the missing appetizer I critizised in the video, what else was missing in your opinion?
I flew Delta 777-200LR on Mumbai-JFK. For a 15hr flight, it was AWESOME! I wasn't served am appetizer too and I felt, maybe they do for other international flights. I felt my flight was great because the seats were great and meal portion was huge!
Isnt 3-3-3 vs 3-4-3 more a case of seat width rather than seat pitch?
0:45 Voice Crack
😂😂😂
Harrigan Weston he’s had some bad ones
I see you did your pre-flight overview at Dockweiler beach. Very nice location, especially on very clear days. Delta offers a good product and has for years.
Very good ! thank you.
Hi David, in your Etihad LAX - AUH review you complained about the amount of food served. To me it seems the amount of food on both flights is almost the same. Same flight length, 2 hot meals, 1 mid-flight snack and a snack bar in the galley throughout the flight. The only difference i can see is the ice cream you got with your first meal on Delta. Is it the elevated dining experience that makes up for it? Or is the food quality much better on Delta? I'm just curious why you have such different opinions about the catering on both flights
That's a great question. For me, the catering on Etihad was not compareable to Delta.
1. Delta offered the main meal with a dessert and the pre-landing meal with fruit and a yogurt while Etihad only offered the main course and a bread roll.
2. Delta offered a high-quality hot mid-flight snack while Etihad provided a cheap, unappetizing sandwich.
3. The snacks offered in the galley at Delta were proper snacks. A large variety of different choices and sufficient so that all passengers could get something. But Etihad only put leftover sandwiches there alongside some cookies. Not even remotely enough for all passengers.
4. Delta offered three choices for the main meal while Etihad only offered two.
@@simply_aviation Yeah, that makes sense. I understand your point now. Thanks!
Seems like Delta, KLM and Air France provide very similar quality service on their flights.
I just took Delta recently from Atlanta to Johannesburg and it was so good!
On economy?
west max yep. I paid a bit for some extra leg room but I was not in the “select economy.” Since it was a 6pm departure some of the food choices, which were criticized here, were changed.
@@diegovelazquez4361 is it a turbulent flight since it flies on top of the Atlantic ocean?
west max there was definitely some minor turbulence. Not the worst I’ve experienced but not an entirely smooth ride
Congratulations 🎊🎈🎉🍾
I USED TO LOVE "TRIPREPORT" SERIES BUT AFTER WATCHING "BRUTALITY HONEST" THIS IS MY FAVOURITE NOW ☺️☺️
That was highly highly impressive 👍
Great Review as always, I saw that you’ve never done a QA, could you do a QA video where you talk a bit of your life, how you got obsessed in Aviation? what you do besides flying around the globe? What your advices are when flying shorthaul or longhaul, how you prepare for a flight, how you can afford flying that much? and answer some more question ?? That Would be really awesome 🤩
Yeah, that would be great
KING LION It’s actually QA. QA is Chinese and means Quest&Allure, which is the short form of Question & answer. You did not know that ?
I'd like you to fly from EWR to Singapore on Singapore Airlines' new A350. 18h30m flight. I'd die😳
In prem eco as well?
@@TijmensAviation There's only premium economy, business and first class
@@christiantuccio9811 there is no first class on the A350, just the A380 and the 777-300 on Singapore Airlines have first class seats

I did Delta Economy also in February 2020, in B767-300, EZE-ATL roughly a 10 hours flight, and the service was exactly the same as you describe and can be seen in your video.
Cool, I'm really hyped for my flight to Australia on delta! You are basically flying the same route as me, so I know what to except
How was your flight?
another great video
The meals may have been small but they looked really delicious like they gave you an entire ice cream thing with the first meal, that's awesome
Love this video, trip report help people to make a better choice.
An amazing review. I'll definitely be trying out Delta from India to somewhere in the US.
You can try delta from mumbai to newyork, 15 Hrs
@@vaibhavkalband6544 Yep, that's the one I intend to take.
All and all I liked the video. The concept of expectations met, and lost makes for an informative video. Video quality was sharp and clear. I would have preferred a longer shot after rotation. At night those lights on the ground look thrilling. Nice shot of final decent and landing.
I loved that avgeek scene 🤣🤣🤣
Nice review 👍
Simply Aviation, how's the food on Delta compared to American and United?
Hi, David! Excellent video. On this trip report Delta exceed my expectations, especially on the basic amenity kit and the menu card. I'm totally agree with you on the food; it could be with a better presentation adding a little salad at less. But comparing with other US airlines like American or United, Delta is better.
I will wait the next trip on Virign Australia.
Thank you so much and greettings fron Guadalajara 🇲🇽

Delta Air Lines, so far, on my watch, as an Indonesian, is the only airline in the US that *never disappoints.*
Fahri Adam Aronggear-Adamy Yes but while they are the best airline for long haul economy, United airlines easily wins it for the long haul business class..
@@cancelanime1507 Ah I see…
Were the bathrooms kept clean all throughout the long flight? US based airlines are notorious for not cleaning the bathrooms on long haul flights unlike their Asian counterparts.
Fun to see the approach into Sydney. . . funnily enough, not that dissimilar to the one into LAX. I would have been curious (assuming not miles) as to the price paid.
Delta seems like they have figured some things out the last few years. By far, the best service in USA.
Delta is my preferred airline to fly with, all of my first class flights were great, great food and beverages, service, and awesome flight attendants, Delta is the best US airline carrier. #deltaairlines #delta
Does it say free WiFi for T-Mobile ?
The flight looked good to me. I'd give Delta a look in now for flights between Australia and USA. The only thing that looked bad to me was that breakfast muffin. It was so dry but your dinner looked good. Ben and Jerry's for desert, how good is that!
I have made several long haul flights to Brisbane using Emirates, Qatar and Singapore airlines in Economy and the food was much more substantial than you were given, especially the breakfast. However the seating layout in Delta's 777 is much better than the 777s used by those airlines.
Hope you enjoyed your stay in Sydney. Qantas was able to convince American to improve their service in all classes as apart of their codeshare. Virgin Aus didn’t have the same influence over Delta. My experience and general market view would rank Delta last of the 4. The dinner service out of LA is more of a supper service due to the very late departure so that may explain the limited courses if not the awful bread.
Thanks again for a great review.
Looks pretty good. When the pandemic is over I might try Delta but will probably fly Qantas.
One of the good videos of delta
10:44 It wasn't long-haul, but KLM between Taiwan to Manila did provide placemats for the inflight meal in economy.
Hello David and Felix!
Since you're Austrian, I have a question for you.
I have a flight booked (17/3 to 30/3) since December to Germany and Austria.
Would you cancel it because the Corona virus situation?
I mean, my fear is the border closing or something like Italy is suffering now.
Do you think that this countries will take the same kind of measures?
Great trip report. Must try Delta SYD-LAX
I do agree about the main meal... It could have been a little bit bigger and with a salad... and a WARM bread roll, as you pointed out. On such a long flight, you do need a good standard of service, which Delta seemed to provide.
Nice shoes as always 😄😄👍
Be careful of Corona virus David 😲😲
Great vlog 👍👍👍
Flying UIO-ATL-LAX-SYD this summer :)
How do you always manage to have a row to yourself? Do you purchase the entire row?
I’m errr semi-proud delta diamond medallion. It’s amazing to see delta service especially compared to the other us3 and robotic asian carrier. But it pisses me off that i have sky pesos (it wasn’t that bad to use for some routes on J) but the fact that i cant use it for first class redemption sucks..
Sean Saca there are not many first class sky team. Only korean and air france la premiere worth mentioning. But you can’t redeem these seats using skymiles. Garuda first is going away and china eastern first is mediocre.
Sean Saca aeromexico only have business class not first. There are better use of amex points than transfering to delta if you fly internationally.
I'm watching this to know if I should fly with Delta, our family is planning a trip of a lifetime to Hawaii. And I want to know what airline, in economy we should take from Montreal. Thanks for your great vid.
Looking forward to the VOZ review! I've flown three products from Australia to LA. From a catering standpoint I found the Delta and VOZ products to be far superior to the Qantas meals offered on these pacific sectors.
how much of your long time flight trip ?
I wonder why they had Japanese subtitles on the safety video on a LAX SYD flight?
Welcome to Australia David! Hope you enjoy your stay. I'm also surprised that the two meat options were both chicken. That seems like a weird choice.
I mean chicken is on the healthier side if meat.
I was supposed to fly home to Australia from JFK to LAX to MEL on the Qantas A380 (LAX to MEL leg) back in 2011 which is almost 16 hrs. I never got to do it because they grounded their fleet for a week. The up shot was though, that they sent me home via Dubai on Emirates in Business class.
Interesting video. I’ve heard less than positive opinions of Delta in the past, but based on this I would certainly consider them for my next trip to the US...
You should do a brutally honest on emirates from Newark to Athens
Why exactly from newark to athens of all places? Emirates are based in dubai, not athens.
I flew that exact route
KonPlayz yes, they are based in Dubai but they do have 2 flights operating out of NYC besides their regular service to Dubai DXB. They fly New York-Milan and Newark/New York to Athens.

as a son of a mom that works at delta i love aviation because of my moms career and my dad took my on many flights as a kid. i just love when people fly delta because i have so many good memories and so many to come #deltafam
my dad worked or Ozark/TW and that is how i became an avgeek. i switched to Northwest when TW got bought out and then came to Delta when they bought NW. we love Delta. i am 6ft 6 who sits aft of the wing in coach non exit row cause i like watching the flaps do their thing. and deltas legroom is great for me. we fly to Tenerife from Texas every year and we fly delta as far as we can before having to switch over to a euro carrier to get to Tenerife. even thought i am 48 i am in flight school and hope that in 2 yrs i will be in the delta pilot program.
