I'm a bit late but here goes anyway. I'm South African, I live in Cape Town . I am 62 and am painting since October last year. I love natural colours as found in nature, Blues and greens are my favourite. I love all animals but If I had to choose I would choose elephants and owls . Now I am going to attempt your Lake Como tutorial. Oh and Thank You so much for teaching this wonderful skill.

I really enjoyed experiencing you painting today. Your an amazing teacher. I love you guy's banter. Your right about being nice. You could never go wrong if you treat people the way you want to be treated. The people who don't treat you the way you want to be treated are the people that as they say you kill with kindness. It's not so fun to bother with you if they don't get any joy out of it. I taught my kids what my mother taught me when people made fun of me in school. When they'd start up and was never just one of them it was always two or more my mother said after they called me names or whatever they said just tell them thank you. They don't know what to do with that. So, eventually it's no fun anymore and they just leave you alone most of the time. Your advice about criticism was inspiring to hear. It will be in my head the next time I hear negativity over anything from other people. I thought hearing the cutting of the trees was great. Many blessings to you and your loved ones. BTW... I'm from Maryland, all kinds of bears and purple💜💜💜

I like seeing the reference pic while you paint. It helps me grasp why you do what you’re doing. Without it, it feels like you’re just making it up as you go.

Did the old art masters paint sparkles or is this type of painting (sparkles) coming from an illustrative style and is more contemporary? Just curious cause I don't remember seeing sparkles in the old dead masters painting

I was a pictorial artist for an outdoor advertising company. . . For problems with bleeding of red and blue I have the answer. . . When the guy brought panels of a billboard into the shop that RED or BLUE I would paint shellac to block out the red and blue areas then prepare the panels with primer, or choice of paint to start my new advertisement.

What pictures to use for painting
ok, so in 2018-19 I spent a year listening and painting videos from you ane your mom. Since she now charges, I am devastated. I can't afford it as much as I'd like. Not even 4.95 membership. so now, I have started watching videos of artists teaching, but mainly time lapse or just with music. It may be partly instructional but if is wasn't for you, I'd be lost. I hate these other types of videos! That's not why I am on you tube. If I was good enough to follow a time lapse, I'd be good enough to paint from a photo. Now, I feel like I have lost all of my skill. or most. I haven't painted more than an hour a week in years! Sad, because nothing made me happier. I don't know what my problem is. Now, I need to start over. I am going to start with your videos since you don't charge for anything! Thank you for all that you offer. Love you!!!
