I think the Surrey Quays shopping centre is a nice building full of character and I can tell The Range used to be a BHS store with its lights etc. I used to do work experience at The Range and I think some of the products are tat. I think shopping centres are interesting buildings. I visited Telford Shopping Centre last Sunday. I loved it as it has been looked after and is in fact a destination with new and old features which fit in well plenty of shops as well. The only sad thing is a person committed suicide a few years ago as they jump from the multi storey car park. Finally did you hear about Dominic Chappell from BHS being Jailed for 6 years for tax evasion

This is what's happened: malls got cocky from the mid-2000s and failed to innovate their centres in any large way. Now it is the 2020s and these venues don't have the means to do it if they wanted. Sainsbury's is moving out of the mall where I live (it's a large town) SAINSBURY'S! Even with independent retailers which a lot of people look up to, they look tacky if they are not in a decent environment.

It seemed to happen so quickly. When I left school in 2000 shops used to have full refurbs to keep them looking attractive. About late 2000s all the shops began to look the same, black & White signage and white walls, window displays VANISHED replaced with cheap looking posters or dummys if it was a cloths shop, with no pride at all. While online retailers, with not just price, but great presentation pulled customers in, shops with dirty awnings and cheap fixtures and fittings... oh and fewer staff an selfscans made customers feel uninspired to spend and spent online.

I wish I had some cash flow and would start that retro mall idea. Either with old versions of present day shops, or bringing shops back from the past. I think people would come far and wide to visit them. Wouldn’t work in somewhere like London, but would work in medium sized UK towns.

I would suggest Hempstead Valley and Dockside Outlet Centre. Both in Medway, Kent. They would make great contributions to this series.

Many think that everyone in London is rich, even those doing national minimum wage jobs.

You should see the broadmarsh in Nottingham, that would be perfect for a end of the world movie there's only about 3 shops in there and the argos still uses the 80s logo outside but there are plans to bring it back to life, and I think it is shut now for renovation

No those doors don't work actually, this shopping centre is rat infested & is literally falling apart. It's depressing & if it wasn't for Tesco it would be closed.
