- In this video I'll walk you through making my FREE Voyager Faux Traincase! Why faux? This bag is a simplified version of a traditional train case. You can use cork, cotton or canvas for the outside. Supplies & cutting information are included in the video - There's nothing to download. All you need is 2 fat quarters (fabric or cork), interfacing, a 14" zipper plus your basic sewing supplies.

I love being a Janome Maker! - Jak na to + styl
I made one today, thank you so much for the pattern. I will tack my lining in place, but otherwise it’s finished. I love your tutorials and hints.
Tiny pieces can be shredded and put into pet beds. Your threads and scraps from evening up can also be included.
I think I will make this for my Daughter-In-Love for Christmas with 3 sizes of matching matching boxy bags/pouches for her camper. It would look really cute outta vintage camper print fabrics lined up on their bathroom counter, When they are moving all she has to do is put them in the cabinet. TFS! And I hope you have done a full on train case by now. It is nice knowing that a pro has their cryptonite too lol
You are an excellent teacher, Jessica! Can't wait to do one! 🙂🙏 Thanks for the tutorial. Very clearly spoken. Your enthusiasm is contagious! 😀
First time I've seen your channel. First, you're a wonderful teacher. Very clear & concise instructions.
Then I subscribed. Thank you!
Oh my word. This is so darn cute. I, too, have been intimidated by the curved train case like zippers. I can totally do this one. Thank you Jessica.
Same!! That's why I like this cheater one lol
This is so awesome 😃 you could probably use the corner cutouts for reinforcement behind a snap, zipper pulls, or even a small tag looped for a finger loop or a nametag just for "pretty's sake" like a statement detail.
I keep a pillow case for scraps. Handy for filling draft blockers, pet beds, floor pillow, etc.
Those pieces are perfect for using with D-rings for small bags or wallets, or a small handle on a zipper pouch, like a tab handle.
Thanks! So clever!
What a generous free pattern! Thank you Jessica! Sweet I own that magazine with that pattern! 🎉❤😂 I Love the cork! And your nails, so beautiful.
I save my corners for zipper tabs, as you do.
I save mine and use them for zipper tabs and strap ends.
Thank you for this quick tutorial. Made this bag along with you and love it!
Very clever and cute!! Can't wait to make one!!
I made one tonight. Great instructions. I used upholstery fabric and it looks so cute. I just added a few stitches in the top seams and lining so they stay ‘up’. Thanks for a great project!
Love it 😍
I have been wanting to make this bag, every since you showed it. I bought the magazine, but haven't done it yet. So excited to have a Video to sew with!!! Thank you so much!!!💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
YEAH!!
Great video! Thank you! ❤😊
I love this! Thank you so much for another excellent pattern and tutorial! ❤
Very pretty
Great tutorial! I save the cuts to make tabs on small zipper pouches that i want to add d-rings to (to clip into my purse)
That’s so clever!
oh I will be making this for sure
Loved this bag! Great video and instructions!
Thank You for another excellent tutorial. Your instructions are always clear and concise! Oh! and I use the small scraps cut out for beg.and enders.
Love doing this. Made one for my daughter.
You made this look very do-able! Thanks for sharing! I will definitely be making! I likely will add pockets inside....well, we shall see!
I save the cut-out corners for D-ring tabs and zipper tabs, and sometimes to test a stitch pattern that I haven't used yet on my machine.
That's so smart!
Love this!!
I sometimes use the corner scraps to reinforce rivets if I am riveting fabric.
That’s genius!!
@@SewManyCreations wow! Thank you!
use your fabric scraps for making fabric !
👋
Love tutorial and Love the bag!
I made one and would like to make a bigger version of it. I would guess that you keep the upper piece the same size in length but can change the width(ie 16x8) and the lower portion (ie 16x19(for larger capacity) Not sure what I would cut for the 'box' corners to make it fit correctly. 3x3? 4x4? Thank you for all your excellent instructions!
What size is your adorable bag ?
Hello, if I am using cotton for my outer layer will I need interfacing on that as well or just for the lining?
Yes you’ll interface the outside if cotton as well.
Are you open to the public any day next week? 22 to 26 of Jan? Can’t find this information on your web
What size sewing machine needle do you use for this project Jessica? I'm new to working with cork materials. Ttys Annette 😀
I like a 90/14 microtex needle.
If I want to use directional fabric but don’t want half of it to be upside down how much bigger would I cut that piece so to add a seam?
If your seam is 1/2 inch, add one inch and cut the pc in half, turn one pc around and sew the bottom seam.
Where do you buy zippers? Those are cute!
I sell everything you see on my website
