I love the running joke of Zach and Tomar trying to gaslight Chris into thinking the game isn't working right
Chris has gaslit his friends so much that now even TOMAR is beginning to manipulate Chris. This is truly the dark era known as the 'UnholyPlays' period.

Just a note, the reason why people want to see the wireframe is so they can tell if you actually modeled a thing in a way that it can animate and that you're not actually a fraud who can make a thing look good but then they hire you and find out you don't know how to set the models up for animation.
That’s what I was screaming in my head while they were going on about this. I know they want to make me feel as bad as possible for getting in debt at an art college, but in this case there’s a method to the madness.

How hard is it to set it up after the fact and clean up the mess?
@@randomdeliveryguy Personally, I find it much faster and easier to get the modeling and topology right immediately by using subdivision box-modeling, and then sculpting, rather than sculpting first and then "cleaning up the mess" with retopology--even the gold standard of auto-retopology at the moment, ZRemesher, leaves quite a mess that requires a lot of manual retopology to fix. And doing manual retopology from scratch, without the help of something like ZRemesher, is just not feasible unless you have the privilege of working 8+ hours a day on a single model.
I've found this out in recent paid projects, too, I'm not hypothesizing or anything, just speaking from actual experience. And you NEED perfect topology to make other technical tasks like UV mapping and especially rigging less soul-crushing.

You show your wireframes so you can see how cleanly you made the model. Newbies always take shortcuts so their model wireframes are a mess.

@@malikoniousjoe An automated one. I don't know if it could work on complex meshes, but I can see it being viable on simple sections.
@@randomdeliveryguy So Maya has Triangulate and Quadrangulate which will as they imply turn ngons into Tris or Quads. Triangulate is generally more successful, as it is cutting them down rather than combining, and Quadrangulate can get some really ugly results when building up from Tris, especially if you are trying to make a symmetrical mesh. It also depends on your intent for the model, because some game engines automatically convert meshes to Tris like Unreal, not that you don’t want good quad edgeflow regardless.

I remember when Michael Jackson's hair caught on fire. On the playground as a kid they used to sing a song that went "I pledge allegiance to the flag, Michael Jackson is a ___, Pepsi Cola burned him up, now he's drinking 7-up." All the kids that sang it are cancelled now.
One of my favorite things about this game was all the "secret powers" from when you hold an enemy above your head without swallowing them. Like the little shooter guys from the electric tower level.
I started laughing at the thumbnail alone and then not even 20 seconds in they are talking about sexual awakenings.

As a kid I did terrible let’s plays on my channel and my friend and I emulated this game so I remember all the half rendered enemies and we didn’t even know at the time we thought it just looked dumb. Very nostalgic :)

I dont know how they do it but they always manage to fuck something up. N64 emulation has been fixed for years and years. I just tested kirby 64 and it works perfectly fine. No idea.
Didn't help that they were using an emulator version probably released a decade ago.

"There's a place called Quiktrip" is so odd to hear out here in the flyover states where they are as common as a junebug in a bog during summer.
I still maintain that Kirby Crystal Shards is one of the BEST Kirby games, largely because of the ability to combine powers. There's so many different, unique, interesting power combinations, from a giant fire sword, to a fridge, to becoming a Swiss army knife. We need another Kirby game with that level of power combination.
Kirby Squeak Squad also had cool power combinations like fire/ice bomb and fire/ice/thunder sword. I can't really compare it to Kirby64 though, as I've beaten the former game but never played the latter.
They're joking about making Kirby more masculine or whatever, but like basically every modern Kirby game in NA has the cover art modified to make him look angry for whatever reason.
Seems like star allies and forgotten land try avoiding that trope

I love the sound of my dear boys' voices, but for the love of all that is holy why is this completely devoid of the blessed, cheerful music? It's a huge part of the charm of this game, feel like they're missing out.
Aye, even the sound effects are toned down to hell. Maybe they thought the viewers wouldn't be able to hear them, couldn't hear each other, or they have a fear of any copyright strike.
Nintendo has always been super crazy about copyright striking any and everyone they can, so they may have taken it out for that. On the other hand, I can still hear it at points, which wouldn't make sense if they were trying to appease the Nintendo gods by removing it

Huh...Arin told a story on Game Grumps about how he used to work at Blockbuster, and this guy came in asking about the name of a movie where a Coke bottle fell out of the sky, and Arin said it was The God's Must Be Crazy, and his whole family couldn't believe he actually knew the name of it... I've literally never heard anyone else talk about that movie until now.
I like that the intentional decision of the ninja stars being invisible blends in with the bugginess of the visuals

I think it made it kinda cool that the projectile was invisible. The hit scan made it seem like the star was moving faster than light.
ALRIGHT GUYS, HERES A TIP FOR THE DRIP: You shouldn't blow on cartridge games as your moist-ass breath can cause corrosion or make existing corrosion worse. Instead use a q-tip and at least 90% rubbing alchohol (it dries much faster, leaving less time for corrosion to form or get worse) and clean the contacts of the game cart. Make sure to store your game cartridges in a cool, dry place when youre done with them. This will help best insure your game cartridge lasts as long as possible!

The fact that you can COMBINE powers- and that they NEVER even tried to recreate this drives me up the wall.
They let you basically double, triple and quadruple combine stuff in Star Allies though it's not the same as just mix and matching all the cool powers as Kirby alone

It was sick when Tomar finally unveiled his finished Tomarnculus in this episode, it was everything I hoped it would be. Tomarnculus nailed every question in the quiz round, amazing. Zach provided the perfect acapella vamp for the performance bit, even though it was purely sound I could see the Tomarnculus's dance as clear as day. Max kudos, keep up the good work.

Yeah, most of the game is broken, but the bomb/boomerang projectiles were working properly. They were my favorite combo.

My favourite episode of IASIOP where a nice enough guy gets them to watch a movie. All enraged he wasted their time, time that could have been spent watching hintae, they beat him up, and leave him with Zach. Where Zach does abominable things like shove sand in his mouth, and eat his eyes like marshmallows. Brilliant episode. A tour de force.

The wireframe thing is to show if your flowlines aren't broken or have 5 million polygons. I can't imagine someone wanting to see flowlines because they like it.
Like a lot of high-quality models are usually 5k polygons with smoothing and good topology.

OUR HOSTS PLAYED THIS GAME AFTER ONE OF THEM SET A MARSH ON FIRE AS A CHILD. WE SAT HUDDLED AROUND A SMALL TV IN A FRIEND'S BASEMENT, WIDE-EYED AS WE EXPERIENCED KIRBY IN 3D FOR THE FIRST TIME, BUT OUR GLAZED OVER EXPRESSIONS WERE REMEMBERING SOMETHING ELSE ENTIRELY.
