  • In this easy to follow-along 10 minute video, Nichelle guides you through specific exercises to strategically stretch and strengthen around the spine to help it reestablish a more neutral position. These exercises are designed for people who have a hip shift to the LEFT (as demonstrated in the CZcams thumbnail image). If you have a hip shift to the right, please click on this link: • Reverse Scoliosis (RIG...
It is recommended that you do these exercises at least once per day for several months. It is important that you TAKE BEFORE AND AFTER PHOTOS once a month to track your progress. These changes do not happen over night. Generally, the longer you have had scoliosis, the longer it will take for the spine to "recover". Rule of thumb; for the number of years you have had scoliosis, it will take roughly that many months to see a noticeable change in your spinal alignment.
Other factors to consider is if your scoliosis is caused by a structural deformity, or if it is functional. Structural meaning an x-ray confirmed that there are actual structural differences within your spinal segments that has created that curve. Otherwise, functional scoliosis is called "functional" because the spine will straightens out with forward or backward bending movements. Either way, stretching and strengthening is a must to help reduce secondary complications that scoliosis sometimes creates.
It is also recommended that you book an appointment with your local manual osteopath to help address any other body structure involvement (such as organ tension) that are specific to your condition. If you live close to Sudbury, Ontario, you can schedule an appointment with Nichelle Thomson online at www.heat-therapy.ca.

Hi! You said this was to help fix a curve to the left , i think.. well what do you do when your hips are uneven alternately? O shift from one to the other, so i know I'm never standing straight and even - but which side, is back and forth!

How long do we have to do this and how many times? Will this completely reverse like become a regular spine? I have a 6° spine and i always cry about it so I'm genuinely curious

I recommend my clients to do this at least three times a week to try to improve the condition.. now… if you have a structural deformity of the vertebrae, fixing it completely will not be possible. But these exercises will help to strengthen areas that are in need to make sure the condition doesn’t worsen.
