  • Jason Momoa has recently transformed his vintage 1929 Rolls-Royce Phantom II into an electric vehicle, courtesy of British EV specialists Electrogenic, thus prompting critics of electric restomods to expand their list of adversaries.
    Touted as "the most ambitious and complex EV conversion ever undertaken," this nearly century-old vehicle underwent an eighteen-month transformation, leaving little room for skepticism regarding its claims.

    I think it's great - as long as it's driven. It's better to be on the road than collecting dust in a museum or in a garage.

      Just looking at Momoa with the car I feel like he drives it. I also feel like the electric conversion happened so he can drive it more

    😊🙏 Thank You So Much for extending the useful life of this magnificent Rolls-Royce Phantom II beyond 2030 EU strict rules & regulations concerning the use of Internal Combustion Engines ( ICE ) in Europe & in other parts of the World! 🌷🌿🌍💖🕊

    A vintage Rolls is the perfect platform or an EV conversion! These cars should be quiet, smooth, fast, reliable and without smells or mess. An EV conversion gives you all of those!

      Alright then, what exactly should the owner of a 1929 Rolls do with it?
      You are correct, I have never driven or even ridden in a classic Rolls Royce but clearly you have never owned or driven an EV conversion before.
      And since I'm wrong by thinking a Rolls should be quiet, smooth, fast, reliable and without smells or mess, it doesn't sound like something I want to do.
      Do you have a vintage Rolls? I would absolutely love to see it and it would be wonderful and very enlightening if you were to make a video walk-around including a drive down some country roads.
      Thanks in advance.

      @@billbayer5526 my small collection of both Rolls_Royce and Bentley vehicles, all date from the 1990s. This is the last decade of the British designed and built Rolls_Royce - Bentley vehicles. Including Silver Seraph, and Silver Spirit mark IV, Bentley Brooklands etcetera. But I have been lucky enough to have been in some real old -school classic Rolls_Royce cars. Owned by fellow members of the New Zealand Rolls_Royce and Bentley club. In one word they are gorgeous !..I am guessing that you live a very long way from me !. electric vehicles are more polluting than modern ice cars. The production of electricity and the batteries and mining is devastating for the environment. Here is another aspect you have not thought about. most electric cars are rolling giant computers. Let's say you belong to the wrong political party or voted for the wrong candidate, or you are late on your taxes, or the government does not want you to be able to travel where you want to go they can remotely shut down your car.

    • @Sidewayz455
      @Sidewayz455 Před 7 měsíci

      Control aside, what is the lifespan of a typical computer? Yeah... The more circuitry based hardware is installed in a car, the less reliable it becomes and harder and more costly to repair.

    • @stevenwatson4526
      @stevenwatson4526 Před 7 měsíci

      @Sidewayz455 there should only be enough computers to run the engine and transmission, abs brakes and air bags. Too many systems are run through body control modules that are not necessary. For example, headlights, taillights, climate Controls, radios and power windows and locks.
