    I had to second guess myself on if this is a male or a female singing

      I guess I can understand that, my voice is technically higher pitch than most typical males. (Vocal range: Tenor)

      That means I can come off as a female (if I try hard enough 💀💀💀)

      Thank you for the comment. Yeah there's a lot of things I could have done, but I feel the imperfections help it. 😁

    Wow you sing very well.
    However there is something, which if you wanted to follow the moody of the original version, is that you made TOO many effects (I don't know how to call it). The original version sounds more sincere because it's more plain, but still very expressive when it needs to. I'm talking about these bits at 1:49 "when you cry(aiii)" you increase the pitch towards the end of the aii, and sometimes you attack lower or higher. You're doing it all over the music. These kinds of effects that are all over pop music and artists overuse (I personally hate it, not because it is bad, but because it's not used well)
    There's something comparable to that in classical piano music which is rubato, when you take and give time from the music. Some people overuse it which makes the music sound too flexible and insincere.
    If you want something to sound solid and serious, it need inertia, so that it doesn't come out as a joke.
    Good interpretation requires balance. While it is important to bring expression by using these means, if you know when to put it it will be much more impactfull. Sometimes, if you decide to purposefully don't do these effects in the places that call for them, and you do it right, that is when you will bring people to tears. It brings an effects of piercing sincerity.
    Music is VERY difficult, and expressing these kind of things "correctly" requires a lot of thought.
    Does this help with anything? Do you know what I'm talking about? Because I'm not familiar with singing terminology so I hope this wasn't confusing.

      @@officialjoshuasaxton You sound very much like a girl trying to immitate a guy, are you not an english speaking native?

    • @officialjoshuasaxton
      @officialjoshuasaxton  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Born in the United States so English is my primary. I don't know why my voice sounds like a girl to you, it could just be my pitch itself being much higher than a typical guy (as previously mentioned, I'm by definition a Tenor on the vocal range scale).
