- You've seen me travel to Germany and the USA to find quirky and innovative tools and organise them into Shadow Foam, but a question I am asked a lot... what about the British tool brands?
This week, I travelled down to Lumberjack Tools in Wolverhampton, to check out their massive tool range, find the gems, and create for them my most ambitious tool storage project yet! It is a mental build, with a brilliant British brand, check out the video and let me know what British brands I should cover next!
Big thanks to Jade and the team at @lumberjacktoolsuk for supplying the tools and being such generous hosts! Go visit their showroom in Wolverhampton, or failing that, check out their tool range (with discount code SHADOW FOAM) at www.lumberjacktools.co.uk

Brilliant result. Never heard of Lumber Jack before, looks like some lovely stuff at great prices.
Easily recommend checking them out, great local company to support! 👍
finally a British tool brand that's worth looking at, reminds me of the old "British standards (kitemark) best in the world"mutterings from the older tradesmen
Check where they are made
Great to see a British business making such a comprehensive range of good tools. I'll bear them in mind.
Do that, they are a business worth supporting, nothing but nice words to say about them!
They don't make anything. It's all made in China. They are a marketing company basically
"A little belter!"
I see what you did there 🤣🤣
😂👍 finally someone did!
Always looked at Lumber Jack, did not realise it was a UK brand, will be looking at this more closely
What a deal !!!! Bet you couldn't shake her hand quick enough !!! Nice to support local too !!!! I noticed on the a bit of b-roll they have Auto Jack and Garden Jack range too. Well worth checking out. Your tool wall looked spot on ! Great job!
Haha too right I couldn’t shake her hand quick enough!
will admit, never heard of this make until today, looks good to me and interesting
I'm chuffed that I was able to get this make some more eyeballs!
lol great job on the display, my tip would be :for the mitres you’d have been better off cutting it by hand, good fine saw & you wouldn’t need any filler, it’s small beading so probably faster then the circular saw anyways & just use a good wood glue, no need for the fast super glue stuff. Love the brand , never heard of them before, the table saw looks awesome as does that nifty clamp horse thing, I might go check that out right now, thanks for another fab video, you are the foam cutting master!
Finally some proper British tools 🎉
Great to hear about a British company. Some nice stuff. Love the display panel.
How much fun unboxing all that!! 🤤
First time hearing about Lumber Jack tools. They look top quality at an affordable price. Would really like that table saw.
Never heard of Lumber Jack but they will be my next Power tool purchase
Never heard of Lumber Jack tools, but they look good and are very reasonbly priced.
Definitely going to check Lumberjack out. Decent looking tools at competitive prices!
Looks absolutely fab , this is the way tools should be stored and shown awesome
Thanks mate, glad you agree! What did you think about Lumberjack tools?
@@ShadowFoam tools look great , I hadn’t heard of them before but have been googling them , I really think I have a problem as every tool you show I’m looking to get , keep up the great work looking forward to next vid
Great to see a good range of affordable tools.
Always a joy to support a British company too!
You may have already realized that on the side of the table saw where the wrench stores you can also store a blade or two.
That is some tool wall more British tools please. Until now i had not heard of Lumber Jack and i am in the market for some power tools and they do look like they will be getting some business from me. Keep up the great content. 👍👍👍
My first tablesaw was a little lumberjack about 9 years ago. Theyve come a long way since then. Its great to see!
Do you still have it?
@@ShadowFoam Noo not anymore, I upgraded to a bosch a few years after.. I wish their current one was around back then!
Great to see Lumberjack Tools review. Just used my Lumberjack 10" Planer Thicknesser yesterday, brilliant results on 2m long scaffold boards.
Looks Awesome in black and red great job
I love the power tool walls this could be my next shadow foam project 😊
Those LumberJack tools look super value for money. I am sorted for Cordless Drills and Impacts, etc but If I was starting out and needing a full set I think these would be hard to beat.
I like the blade cover on the table saw - watch various folk on CZcams using their saws and I can't help imaging as they are leaning over pushing the wood just one slip of the foot (easily done) making them flip forward and a saw right in the face 😨😨 . Maybe it's never happened, but who knows!
never heard of Lumber Jack brand, I will take a look at their website, great looking wall, I'm inspired to sort out my tools that are piled in an assortment of bags and boxes
More of this, please !
Great to see what's out there 👍
British brands? or going to visit them?
@ShadowFoam Both to be honest.
We know and use these products, but nobody can say they have seen their complete range. The prices are amazing.
Very impressive display and to have all the tools level was spot on , must of taken you a while !
It was a lot of measuring and remeasuring!
absolutley great to see other than the usual red /yellow /and blue big brands being shown somwe love great video .
The logos really look great in the foam, almost worth just buying foam to put company logos in. Tools look good and great to support british companies
Good tools have a few of there tools bandsaw beach router table and sander and the staff are really helpful too😊
great logo. wall looks amazing. tools look great value too.
First saw Lumber Jack at Maker’s Central last year, they had some really nice gear there, boys got some hats & turns out my dad already owned I think the little corded detail sander but treated himself to a router bit set at the show. My Parkside tools are starting to show the strains of use so these will be going on my list of potential replacements.
As a spark I suppose you should really try and do C.K. But would also love to see Eclipse they’re are definitely quality tools been my go to for coping & hacksaws for over 20years.
Really impressed with the range of Lumber Jack tools, defiantly one to look out for. Great work, would love this tool wall in my workshop!
That saw looks a beast
Only discovered Lumberjack when shopping for my first table saw, got the TS254SE and can't complain for the price. Top is just pressed steel, and fence a bit basic, as expected for a budget model, but nothing rickety or flimsy about the overall build. The riving knife / blade guard assembly design choices are a bit puzzling, and I see they've mostly repeated these with the TS1800. The supplied riving knife stands higher than the blade, so has to be removed for non-through cuts, or when using over the top accessories such as a sled, which I often do. I fabricated a replacement riving knife instead from some scrap steel scavenged at work. I know I'll upgrade within a few years but this saw has handled everything so far and I enjoy using it.
I'm still getting the hang of woodworking, while struggling to develop a dozen other maker skills at the same time, so I've no business critiquing anyone else's work. I might have tried adding a small roundover to the edges, and maybe a dark stain or varnish? The display itself looks fantastic, especially that logo.
Good to see a British tool brand. Great prices too.
Sbsolutely, I would love to highlight more british brands and tools on the channel!
Never heard of lumberjack before , off fo a look see now cheers
Lumber Jack tools are the sort of stuff you see in the middle aisle at Aldi.
And they look like rebranded tools from generic manufacturers
LMAO that was the same vibes I got when I saw the prices on their site because I have never heard of the brand and I am British but I do regularly frequent Aldi and look at the tools they have in the middle aisles. I have never bought power tools from Aldi but I have bought some hand tools (I use Makita LXT power tools). Also Lumber Jack's site does not tell you as far as I am aware if the tools are brushless or not and if they're that cheap they got to have the brushes in them. All my cordless Makita tools are brushless except an orbital sander because Makita doesn't sell brushless orbital sanders but I did hear from some random youtuber who found leaks of future Makita tools and patents that they are working on brushless cordless sanders
There actually fantastic quality tools I have a lot of them and never been any issues
Aldi does sell some pretty good tools at reasonable prices tho maybe diff brands here in the US
@@mos8541 these are higher quality than Aldi branded tools think Johnathan was bit mean on the Ryobi comparison. Id say more budget professional. If you turned up to job site with these not gonna get laughed off unlike Ryobi nothing wrong with Ryobi but these are higher quality at low price
Awesome display! Love the table saw!
Great video of affordable tools and fantastic display
Thanks Keith, hit the nail on the head there! Which tool was your favourite?
@@ShadowFoam The table saw looked great The way you described it spoke about its manoeuvrability you did a very good marketing video Never mentioned the table saws price though
Nice to see some good British tool's very nice 👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Hope to highlight more British tools and brands in the future on this channel!
Very well priced too👍
Yeah these guys are awesome ! I was slightly let down with their table saw but still pretty good !
What let you down with their table saw?
@@ShadowFoam well I bought the cheaper 10 inch table saw and it was just a bit cheaply made, not quite accurate enough, fence not staying square, the table has a bulge which I am yet to fix. But it was a budget table saw for 170 so….. can’t really complain. The saw blade though is awesome, really nice clean cut, buttery smooth
Loving the colour match between Lumber Jack and ShadowFoam! Will be considering both when I start getting my power tool requirements sorted out!
Good on you mate, let me know if you need help with anything! 👍
Loving the display , you did a fantastic job on it 👍, will keep an eye open for them
Thanks Chris! 👍
That’s a good bit of kit!!
Can't wait to see this in Birmingham.
This looks so good! I’ve been looking at getting my first drill for some “honey dew” projects and Lumber Jack one seems like amazing value. And British too! Gonna be picking one up asap.
I like the look of the table saw I have one of there early table saws and that’s been good
i never realised Lumberjack were a British company you should feature more british tools on the channel nice one
That’s the idea! Any British tools you think I should feature?
What a massive tool wall! Brilliant job Jonathan to promote Lumberjack.
Thanks mate, always keen to highlight British companies! What do you think of the tools?
Thanks for this, a new brand for me 👍
Never heard of them and would have automatically assumed other side of the pond. Will look into them next time needing something - also spotted an extract which work is currently looking for one!
Great panel build and good work getting other names out there (with freebies). Ps. not won anything yet 😂😂
Love the lumber Jack stuff
Do you have any?
There tool look good, I have to say I do love anything red and black, that's the shadow foam I got last time lol looks realy good done a amazing job at that
Fantastic set of tools at great price and what a brilliant tool wall
Thanks! I’m very happy with how it turned out! 👍
Awesome, a British Company making quality tools at a decent price. Gradually making Britain Great again 👍
Great local company to support too 👍
Love the logos!
Could be doing with getting screwed on to the wall for safety or getting slightly tillted back with legs like an easel, but great work .
I'd never heard of them, having looked through the range they are on my radar now!
Happy to hear that, lovely team and company! 👌
An other very nice build you did there. Those tools are now very nicelly highlighted 🎉
Thanks Eric, I’m happy with the build and how it’s turned out, what did you think of Lumberjack tools?
@@ShadowFoam I think Like you said that if you are a beginner those kit are very handy
For the price Lumberjack have some fantastic products, as a new hobby woodworker I have got a couple of their products as well as Einhell, I get these because they are affordable and better quality then a lot of other entry level brands and makes, and I like the red colour. Nice to see some British made models, gave you considered contacting Axminster?
Nice to see the table saw, I’m due an upgrade from my Makita
Would highly recommend! Had a great time with ours! 👌
With a name like Lumberjack you’d automatically assume it would be an American company. Nice to see British companies bucking the trend
Absolutely! They haven’t hit the states yet but I told them how I thought their branding would go down well over there!
@@ShadowFoam I hope they do well over the pond if they do decide to hit the American market.
Never even heard of LumberJack before, great job on the display!
Definitely worth checking out!
Great looking range. It looks like great prices as well
That is a lot of quality tools at prices even the DIYers can afford, I'll be checking there website out soon.
be sure to use our code to get an even better price should any tool catch your eye!
Looks like good gear at great prices
Like the look of the table saw and the clamp. Not heard of this brand before so I'm off to check out the website, thanks Jonathan
My pleasure Rita, be sure to use my code if anything takes your eye!
Nicely done‼️
Lovely to see some British tools haha love it great video again!
A hole new demographic for shadow foam is live events having pre cut inserts for Penn-Elcom equipment rack draws would be amazing!
Also things like flight case foam etc!
Giant Display - How about some of the great British Automotive Tools - Britool, King Dick or Sykes Pickavant.
Great ideas! I’ll look into them! 👀
I’ve never heard of LumberJack tools. Definitely looking into them. They look good quality and best of all both a family run business and British built.
Tools definitely aren’t British built they are just recoloured and re branded from other manufacturers
We had a chance to meet the team and they are a family, so kind and warm and the biggest sign, they’ve all been there 10 years plus!
Looking good
Good deal and a Nice collaboration to boot! Keep up the great work!
Thanks Chris, which tool stood out to you?
The pro range deep throated scroll saw, looked like a great deal!
Brilliant detail and great for organisation of tools with business or lumber jack title above very usefull
Deffo the best tool wall to date
Thanks mate, I appreciate that! What would you like to see me put in foam next?
@@ShadowFoam would love to see the Halfords tool box system with a well laid out system using the Halford own brand tools and including your thoughts on them.
I've got the 14" bandsaw and it's well worth the money.
great video very helpful thanks
Quiet a fairly priced power tool brand but I’ve never heard of them but look like a good diy brand
Best orbital sander I ever purchased was the Lumberjack Random Orbital Sander 350W 125mm
How long have it had it for?
@@ShadowFoam will be coming up 4 years in June, doesn't get used everyday but fairly frequently, still going strong and at £30 it's difficult to justify anything that costs and arm.
These seem to be great value for the money.
Absolutely!
fantastic vid great products
Never heard of them, but I have been dragged to Axeminister with my dad a few times (usually because I need to carry something heavy for him) and I always thought their prices for even the "tiny" hobby level things were just crazy..
I am definitely going to be pointing him towards Lumber Jack when I see him tomorrow..
And my wife will be happy to know it's from her home town of YamYamLand.
It’s our camera man’s neck of the woods too, closer than a knats knackers away!
I need to check them out
Never heard of them - presumably re-badged Chinese.
Not necessarily bad if they have input to the design and have good quality control & support.
Have you even thought since you own so many tool boxes, Makpacs, Systainers and so on, to add a service to sell custom labels for them? For example Festool got a pdf file of the label you can print out. Some measurements, design labels, then sticker paper and print. People would just add own text on the default locations of text on your label.
Love lumber jack tools
Do you have any lumberjack tools?
@@ShadowFoam yes I have crodless 8 piece tool kit
OMG loved video I've recently purchased some midrange tools I wish I'd seen this video 1st, I didn't know lumber were British although I had watched Rag and Bones Browns video and in Wolverhampton my place of Birth (Wolves aye we!)
Can always pop down and check out their range? Showroom is not too far from Bentley bridge
I might have just spotted my hubby’s birthday present ( I think the word ‘ laser’ caught his attention) .Worried about the stand toppling ….did you secure it to the wall ?
I only just found your channel last week i can't believe i haven't seen you before ive got a day off today im going to check loads of your videos today great channel ❤👊
Nailed it again
Thanks mate! I’m happy with it! 👍
Love the price of lumber jack equipment
Great....some British tools, great prices...... BTW, I hope you fixed that panel on the wall, don't want someone squashed by all those lovely tools 😂😂
We actually put the heavier tools at the bottom to weigh it down when stood up right, but I believe Lumberjack are going to secure it to the wall too!
@ShadowFoam I am glad, shame to see your hard work on the floor. It looked class BTW.... 👏 👌
looks like a good set to go against Ryobi.
That’s where I would place them 👍
great video guys 👍
Thanks mate, what do you think of Lumberjack tools?
Hi 'Shads' ... what a massive build. As a wood worker, I would defo do finger joints on the side panels. With the external trim, that would need some serious router use to make a pukka finish. Do you ever combine a 3 colour insert for such a deep display.
Love the channel, love the content delivery, love the different applications.
Are you going to expand your showroom to other parts of the UK.... Dorset please. 😊😊
Cheers from Glyn in Dorset (strangely enough).
Great start. Wish we still had the industry here where we made the tools here rather thanainly import. (Not a dig at lumber jack)
No no I agree, wish we had more of that in this country for sure!
Great prices for some great toolz
And great customer service too, the team at Lumberjack were wonderful to us and so knowledgeable!
Great video 👍
