    I bought this ship the other day and made some personal modifications to it while keeping the overall aesthetic. It's a low maneuverability beast, even sets off a warning on the flight check, but fun and has a lot of parts that otherwise require Starship Design 4. I swapped some of the habs around by selecting them in the ship builder and cycling through them(turning the 2x2 habs into a battle stations and computer room(theoretical 9 crew stations if max out leadership and add Sarah as your 9th). The put the 2x1s as a Living Quarters and All-in-One so I'd have 4 passenger slots for missions. Paired with the 6,000 cargo capacity you can live your 'Space Trucker' dream. Weapon mounts are at a premium though, so I shortened the piping up top to free up space, and slapped some Horizon Weapon Mounts on the sides of the nose area.

    I bought this in game to haul between outposts and do the dry dock blues missions. I took about 1k of capacity off and haven’t missed it.

    Perfect ship if you’re running multiple resource outposts, transferring thousands of resources per outpost. Or if you’re a super heavy farmer needing plenty of cargo slots. Cheers!

      Do so the pilot test over and over you have to do to join vanguard. I maxed mine out in a hour

    I saved up all my pennies and finally (at lvl22... couldn't use the turrets until ~lvl 24 lol) got this ship! I actually had enough to buy whatever ship I wanted and IMO THIS is the best ships as the engines (3rd generation Supernovas) aren't available for MANY levels, it's lightly armed though so when you buy it maybe make sure you have money to buy armaments... or keep it on the bench, only calling it up at ports (cities/ outposts/ spaceports, only places you CAN call up a ship from your bench afaik) to put new things in when you need space. That is it's most ideal role i've found anyway xD the thing is two pron, one it has PITIFUL mobility as is (like 20) I slapped on the best engines I could at lvl22 (either 1st gen Hercules B-class or 1st gen Nova B-class... not much available yet at that lvl... even at lvl25 I can only eek out 50 mobility which is pretty much the same).
    I IMMEDIATELY changed the 3x3 cargo to a 3x2 mess haul and a 1x2 living quarters beside it, providing 5 passenger slots. I also replaced the cockpit with the overseer... leaving my with 3 ladders IN A ROW!! lol I'm surprised you didn't mention the 2 ladders in a row as the computer LOVES sending a ladder up to a companionway/ storage 1x1 hab EVEN if they're all connected! some might be like but where's the 1x1 hab? Hopetech it the only manufacturer I'd found (and this is new to me as well!) that has these fusalages that actually act as storage habs!! so both fusalage units behind the cockpit are actually 1x1 habs and BOTH of them have ladders running through them even though they are connected by doors on the bottom and the top! so I ended up getting rid of both fuselages (later on, at my outpost- I like upgrading at my outpost whenever possible so the vendor has money as it doesn't refresh like the city vendors do :/) and replaced the top 2x1 (think it was an armory?? it had a legendary in my case!!) with a deimos 3x1 all-in-one as hopetech don't make those. there's a 2x2 below I think that I changed to battle bridge or w/e providing 6 crew members so I didn't need anymore :). In place of the forward fusalage I put a hopetech riser and the shield module, looks pretty good behind the overseer's blocky lookin top. Let's me get rid of the tube leading to the docker in front too saving a bit of mass for momentum.
    so what's the use of having a ship you never fly with 7 passenger slots and 8 crew?? well once I can get that mobility to a DECENT amount (75+) she'll RULE the skies and be FEARED as I infiltrate the Crimson Pirates and explore the fringes! I occasionally fly this beast (added 6x vanguard cannons just to stroke my ego, they look SO mean when fired into open space *ratta ratta ratta* oh... only structure I could put underneath to provide some WEAPON MOUNTS was a stroud-eklund shroud I think it was... looks perfect after a bit of rearranging.... the hopetech gears on the sides serve NO purpose so replace them with two of the nova logic 4 landing boost guys from the middle- until you get to new homestead you ofc cannot buy new units like these- AND put one of the smaller cargo holds beside it, imo it looks JUST as pleasing asthettically, clears up some unneeded mass AND gives you tons of extra room underneath! I moved the bay up, slapped a shielded cargo on the side- yes that's a BIT more weight :/- leaving enough room for like 4 shrouds and 6 to eight weapon mounts! the top has like 6 including 2 on the new overseer bridge so... weapon mounts can be a problem if you don't utilize the bottom)
    oh, to fit the Hercules engines on I moved the fuel tanks to the front. This is it the one decision I made that looks strange... oh I took out the small small cargo hold on the front sides, one I deleted for shielded cargo... I actually may have deleted them both eventually lol I put those boosters (wanna say tyan? but that looks wrong-forget what the ryujin manufacturer is called) that are long and stick out... their structural and don't really do anything but I think they look cool! I put deimos wings on the 2x2s on the side for weapon mounts, never can have enough weapon mounts and the 6 it starts off with is UNACCEPTABLE!! Not if you intend to be traveling alone which is the only option in this game...
    this is my first REAL BIG (5k+) hauler and... it took me 1000m to stop... and I STILL slammed into the Deimos staryard (sorry Nikau!) I had hoped reverse engines and boosters would do something but... I don't believe the do :(

    I bought another this playthrough and it can carry almost 13k with my perks and i got the mobility up to 74, by using three of those engines that use four power each but are super powerful, its my go to c class engine now, can't think of the name though, did some updates on habs and weapons it can now do a crew of 7 and I can do bounty's with it. I stuck three sets of turrets on top, one of them ballistic. It shreds ships, so while its not the best war ship, it gets the job done well while carrying 13 k of resources. I like to pick up my resources with it and grab two ship killing bounties at my outpost and niw this ship can do both. Totally recommend this ship.

      Yeah, the Carry capacity is really nice, and you have a lot of room for weapons placements

    Have you seen the Big Rig at Hopetown? I'm wondering if I'm just too low level for it to show up in the inventory?

      The name sounds familiar, i think ive done a recording to review, but i dont think it's for sale at the Hope tech office. I've checked in with them many times, and they only seem to sell the same few ships

    Hey, a couple minor corrections, because I've been watching a lot of these ship and module showcase videos:
    The crew compartment at 3:37 is actually a captain's quarters (hence the single bunk and navigation table), and the "engine room" at 4:10 is actually a 2x2 computer core. Also, I've noticed you were confused about why some of the HopeTech ships have weapons storage right next to a prison cell: that's actually because that module is the armory, and for whatever reason HopeTech and Taiyo armories have that one mini-brig in them.

      @@wolfofsiwang1138 Unfortunately the ships that sell at vendors is different for each player. Some stock ones maybe the same but others will be different.

    I got this ship yesterday, it's a great freight mover whit I needed to move resources, I even added some more cargo to it. Added better weapons and a shield, it can defend itself now. Not a battle ship though, but I can load up everything with it. So when ever I need credits I just run some resources for sale, and every run is good for 20-25k credits.

      Yeah, that's what i used to do with my one, making sales constantly. You should try to work with the outpost cargo haulers. You can set up tranfers to sell directly to the star bases

      @@CrimsonFlyboy yeah, I'm just starting to make more complex bases. Most of my early ones were just for materials I needed. The newer ones are for profits. I played a lot for two days and made 250k credits, but then I bought the ship and I'm broke again. But now it'll be easier than using the small cargo on my other ships and just loading myself with huge amounts of product and being over incumbered and selling stuff that way. The new ship is so helpful. Got to build up the credits again. I'm out of ship spaces so that should slow my spending down 😄

      Do you mean the number in the name? If so id assume it's just as you level through the game, the ships modules ger upgraded

      I have repeatedly referred to it as vault tech in some recordings and had to learn to correct myself
