I love how they really work as a team. Makkari when not acting as dmg dealer is on constant support protecting her teammates from damage. Same with Thena and Phastos. They all either play defense or offense, but are never passive. Great fight design and choreography. These truly are the warriors that lived thousands of years.
If only the rest of the movie was good as this right scene

Ikaris was a badass holding his own against 3 enternals no easy feet if each of them fought Ikaris on a one on one they would have lost and they showed that Athena lost against him at the start then Makaari was holding her own until Ikaris had enough and grabbed her and it was over there and we saw how Ikaris Overpower the rings of the purple guy so eventually he would get the advantage on him thats why they had to team up on him
He is basically the Superman of the eternals, of course they would struggle against him like what happened to the JL with a revived Superman, flash, Aquaman and Cyborg couldn't stop him, want WW was debatable because she could 1vs1 him but didn't want to fight her teammate
If Gilgamesh was there it would be different outcome for ikaris

I feel they missed an opportunity with Kro in this film. Both the Deviants and the Eternals were pawns of the Celestials. Both born to do specific things, determined by beings who cared little for lifeforms below their stature. The Eternals chose to defy their destiny and stop the Celestial being born. I think it would have been more interesting to have Kro explore that too. They were destined to be enemies, so choosing to become allies would have reinforced the movie's theme. Instead he was just another evil cgi bad guy to be killed off.
Cared little? They were fighting against entropy for the sake of all life... The celestials are the reason the MCU as a universe hasn't broken down to nothing yet. They are playing the big picture compared to the small picture. No life can be lived without sacrificing others. You do the same thing every day you live.

Celestials have appeared twice in the MCU at this point: in GotG, in a flashback showing one use the Power Stone to destroy a planet full of people; and the Eternals, where they are shown to interfere with living worlds on a devastating scale just to procreate.
There's nothing there about "preventing the universe from breaking down into nothing". They claim to be a force for good and order, but they've already shown themselves to be deceivers, in the ways they lie to the Eternals about their pasts and their mission. The celebrated victory at the end of the movie is a literal termination of a nearly full-term Celestial newborn. When a movie, especially an American movie aimed at broad appeal, says "these guys are so bad, we'll support aborting them", they're probably not great.
Any just because predation is a fact of reality, doesn't mean that a prey species is somehow unimportant, or that they don't have just cause to defend themselves and their personal sense of worth. I love me a good burger, but I wouldn't blame a cow for holding a grudge against me, nor would I expect the cow to assume that my consumption of it was in service of some great cosmic responsibility I had.

This fight scene is... Messy. Incoherent. But I have to admit that Makkari is exactly what I imagined of live-action The Flash. DCEU's Flash is depicted too rough, like lightning strikes, while Makkari moves with elegance.

@@kendobc There's no edgy involved. The movie was terrible on so many levels. Pacing was boring. It was woke washed to the point of destroying any parts of the story that weren't suffering from bad direction. And yes even Jolie playing Thena was terrible. Those of us who aren't part of the woke cult don't care about the race, we care about accurate characterization. The contrivance of the story placing the eternal on earth was a hopeless useless bit of spectacle creep that only hurt the MCU, worse than many world changing aspects in phase 4. And there were so many bad ones, that's saying something.
Finally these woke writers seem to have no clue how to write heroes, only narcissists. It's no surprise no one cares or looks up to them.
I'm honestly not surprised the other guy fell asleep.
This movie was so underrated and under appreciated. I really enjoyed it.

Have to love whenever there is a speedster on the screen, the argument on who's faster begins in the comment section.
No clue why, one speedster moves fast enough to reverse time, another moves fast enough to dilate time by thousands on itself, and the third throws herself at her problems and delivers neither the requisite power or speed for any given situation.
You gotta remember these guys only won by basically convincing Ikaris to kill himself.
I genuinely don't understand how ppl disliked this movie. To me, is one of the best marvel movies (ofc not on the level as infinity war or spiderman no way home or endgame)

This is so true, these people are used to going awe at dumb action, eternals had a lot more soul than the avg MCU fan can consume, they are used to the silly one liners and being told their character is "sad" or "angry" but a dumb one liner, Ikaris had so much depth in his love and duty.
I see the positives and i enjoyed it only when i separated it for the MCU and just acted like it was a separate movie altogether. I think that's where the main hates comes from, doesn't add to the mcu and it actually doesn't make sense that it took place on the same earth. Also we had just gotten peak mcu movies and this one was not at that level, but like i said remove it and judge it separately and its enjoyable.

Man... this movies biggest problem is that it wasn’t a series, i swear... 99% of its problems is that we didn't get the time to develop any of this, but otherwise it would've been so cool!
I still dont get all the hate over this movie... ive watched literally every MCU movie an eternals was far from being the worst or even one of them... maybe because it was post-endgame my expectations were very low so I enjoyed it more than I would have otherwise, but honestly I dont think so.

MCU became too woke post endgame. The storytelling of this movie is horrible, they killed Salma hyek off too early and then did her scenes in flashback
It was bad in the way most of the DC movies were bad. By trying to make what could be two or three movies into one, you end up with too many "hero's" having to many CGI fights. Not enough practical effects. Not enough character development. At some point you don't care who lives or who dies as none of it even makes logical sense, and you get tired of seeing glowing/floating stuff all over the scree like you are playing a video game. And since it happens in the past we know nothing really bad is going to happen, and none of them are going to mater in the future, because they are not in the other movies. This was Marvel version of Justice League and it was just as bad.

Well if Ikarus wins then the Celestial bursts out of our planet and every living being on it dies instantly. So, yeah, if you are a human being living on Earth you're rooting for Ikarus to lose badly and for the Celestial to be frozen before emergence, which is what happened.

Honestly this movie yes wasn't popular, but so many people saw it and the end fight was so "World changing" this easily could've been the new "Battle of New York" moment again, like a celestial was being born from our planet?! Then another came back stole 5 "people" and left. Holy shit we are not alone AT ALL. This could've paved the way for a Galactus, but instead Disney Marvel panicked and didn't commit to this at all instead pivoting and putting all their chips on an ACTOR not a character.

I think e biggest crime this movie committed was that we didn’t get enough of this kind of action. The action scenes in this movie even the previous battles are over so fast we don’t get any real sense of the characters powers until now. Like I feel the worst thing a marvel movie can be is boring and this movie at least until the end was so boring.
